Marc’s music with The Crowes was SO far above EVERYTHING else they’ve done it’s crazy. And LIVE??????? LIVE??????? NOTHING they have EVER done before or since MARC has even been CLOSE!! Marc is TRULY a game changer.
Love the quote from Marc, "if you're not fallin down you're trying to nail it that's for sure...." in regards to playing...this guitarist has always been one of my top favorites. So pure, So real and so authentic....Marc is Awesome....incredible feel, tone and attitude!!
Marc Ford gave the black Crowes what Ed King gave to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The best rendition of the band was when he was the lead guitarist. The guy can really play. The Southern harmony and musical companion album would not have been what it was without him. I know,I was there. I’ve listened to this guy since then and even when he was with Ben Harper. Guitar players come and go but Marc has something.
The Robinson brothers longevity as the Crowes has a everything to do with MFF Neither acknowledged nor recognised. MFF added jet fuel to the ignition that has kept BC relevant. MFF legend the real McCoy - he looks happy, thats all that matters. Awesome person. Love ya Marc FF.
Marcs my fave guitarist and yes the Crowes lag without him. Magpie .. was a really good band. His feel is right up there with the greats . My high school years in Huntington Beach .. he lived about two miles from me. I was in some pretty big bands in HB and later Hollywood where I saw him with his trio Burning Tree a Hendrix Clapton thing. Weird I don't think I've ever met him . All the guys I played with all know him well. I'm a singer songwriter multi instrument guy yeah yeah.. but I so wanna have him play on my songs in the Sly Stone Led Zep Stones thing . I take gigs too still. Marc if you read this ..let's make some great music . I currently play drums for MALIAH a dark R&B thing. Currently recording my debut solo release. Bands I've been in .Rott Row, Rik L Rik (IRS records),Kery Doll/Doll, Hollywood Rose pre GnR and post GnR Polygram records, Maxwell (Grammy winner), Chuck Berry, Aaron Neville, the Pretty Uglys Hellrazor records,Ruby Slippers,Megaton UK, Jeez there's more but just reaching out . I guess I could get his info from some buddies.
Crowes ain't shit without Marc!!! He was their Mick Taylor!!! Met him at a guitar clinic....no ego and seemed embarrassed by compliments...sign of a real player!!!
I follow the artist rather than ask that the artist follow my ideas. That how the best art works, When we allow the artist to create and enjoy the creations.
I love Marc but he seems really melancholy here. He alludes to Rich wanting him to have brought some things written in, and Marc's response is he doesn't write unless he has something going on. At the time he had The Magpie Salute? I can see why Rich might have been upset. Marc just seems burnt and I was let down by this interview.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I enjoyed my talk with him … he is just very laid back in general. And for the record Magpie Salute was great!
@@Laughingmonkeymusic I meant that I was disappointed with Marc's answers, the interview is great. I just saw Marc as being bored with where he is with his band if you can call it that. I believe it's a drummer. I have been excited for Marc so many times and just felt like he's a burn out at this point.
What a pleasure to see Marc and to listen to him reflecting on such various topics... Thank you for this peaceful and very interesting interview 👏🏻
Thanks for the very thoughtful comment

Agreed man. Amazing musician that has it all.
Marc Ford = Gen X Guitar Virtuoso. So unsung, too unsung. History will tell the take!

Marc Ford seems like a nice guy and he has been through a lot, that's for sure. I hope he's doing alright now.

So MARC….. SiR???? You’re saying it’s ALL IN THE HANDS???

Thanks I can't imagine what the dynamics they go through are but I'm always glad when they share.
