Electric Callboy are 6 top musicians making top music while they can and totally enjoying themselves. From a dad (52) who has listened to Rock and metal for over 40 years.
These harsh vocals and screams are common in metal but are usually not used for lines like "You're dancing for me and I'm living for you" 😅
They have a thing with moustaches (even a song called Mr. Moustache wich is a re-recorded version of an older song which they no longer identify themselves with because of some unappropiate lyrics), just wait till you see the video for Spaceman, in which you may or may not see some hairdo based on serious amounts of hairspray. 😉
When the pandemic hit Germany and all festivals & concerts got cancelled, EC got bored in the studio and filmed two short TikToks of alternative Hypa Hypa renditions: a German folk beer tent/ Oktoberfest version and a black metal version. Their followers loved it and flooded them with comments, demanding full length adaptions in different styles. So they reached out to artists from other genres and invited them to do covers, features and remixes in their own style. We ended up with:
a folk metal cover by Saltatio Mortis
a synth pop version featuring Sasha
a German hip-hop cover by 257ers (feat. EC)
an EDM remix by Gestört Aber Geil
an emo soft rock cover by Axel One
a deathcore cover by We Butter The Bread With Butter (WBTBWB)
a country version featuring The BossHoss
The EDM remix suffers from a genre standard video without any comedic relief. The 257ers version is the only one with additional lyrics, the female model, Linh aka _alienxbaby_, appears in their video as well as in the Sasha version. They made an animated video for the country version as one of TheBossHoss' singers became a father around that time so they weren't able to schedule filming a live action one. All variations work surprisingly well within their genre, the folk metal version and the deathcore version became fan favourites.
I completely forgot the Saltatio Mortis one exists! That one is really great

"Every time we touch" should definitely be next. It's a new take on an older song, and I think you will really like it.
Great reaction as always! Yes, this is the song that made them famous during the 2020 lockdown and they decided to do 6 covers with other artists and bands. Even if you don't want to react to all of them, you should definitely watch them in your spare time (My favorite is the Axel One version, but all of them are worth your time because they take the same some in so many different directions!).

Some reasons for the huge likes for Hypa Hypa: They're known as a Trance Core/Metall band and they had a change of the their former clean/harsh vocal singer in the Beginn of 2020. In May Nico white shirt/ blond wig joined the band. Hypa Hypa was his introduction to the fans. And because of Cov id the internet/youtube was the new stage and jump board for many musicians. The sillyness of the video, the surprise with the breakdown and their talent brought many reaction videos world wide.
In my German opinion it's more a 90's thing with boyband music, neon color and in special the döpdöpdöp Techno music (Scooter "Maria I like it loud"). The mullets and mustache you can still find in their home area, not very often but sometimes. sometimes.😂😂
You will find a ‚continuation‚ of the dance group near the end as ‚Kalle Koschinsky feat. Electric Callboy - Castrop X Spandau‘. Song is fully in german, and yet again sounding very distinct.

I've seen several of your Electric Callboy reactions and another "goofy" metal band you should check out if you haven't already is Okily Dokily and their song White Wine Spritzer.
There were all types of fads in the 80’s. Color changing shirts, LA Gear, Bad Boy, sneakers with lights, spiked hair. Definitely an odd and colorful era for fashion. I hated the bathing suits of that time period and was so glad when they came out with board shorts.
So if you like this song, here's a fun bit of background to it. They decided to colab with like 8 or 10 other artists, and release this song in multiple different genres of music. There's this, a more pop version with Sasha, an Irish Metal/Punk version with Saltaio Mortis, and a very laid back lofi version with Axel One. All of them have videos, and the singers (sometimes more) of Electric Callboy are in the videos as well.
Next "Techno Train" and pay special attention to the lyrics. 😂

80's were funny yet awesome compare to today's era.
Yes they do very good music just like the band Ghost. If you get past Ghost's Hail Satan lyrics they sing some of the most beautiful songs. ( I recommend "He Is") Anyhow for Electric Callboy I would say to continue my list of Pump it, Spaceman, Tekkno Train, and their cover of Every Time we Touch.

I don't know if she's quite ready for that yet, maybe stop at some Unleash the Archers first. I don't think many people can go from normie music to Disembodied Tyrant without a few steps in the middle, I'm on a huge deathcore kick atm, but I understand that not all can handle it (funnily enough my 4 year old daughter has caught a few songs and seems to love it, which is kinda scary.)
