When I Watch this guy play.. Its like damn.. I been playing alot longer than this guy and he has so much flare and understanding of the Instrument.. It blows me away..a Great player dave no dought about that.. Got a lot of feeling and great to watch

Agree with your doubts on the cherry burst. I think the issue is it's too shiny. I think cherry burst looks awesome on vitage les pauls with a rougher finish and without the flame top. Get some 200 grit out and give it a go over :)

I live in the town where revelation are based - feel like I should go and bang on the door and demand they let you keep that guitar for doing such a great job of showing off it's abilities! Seriously though, I bought a RTL-60 TL on the strength of your review/demo, and I absolutely LOVE that guitar! I'm surprised really that there isn't more of a noise made about Revelation guitars and Alan Entwistle's stunning pickups. They really are brilliant!

I didn’t know anything about these guitars before just now. I figured from the video they’d be rather expensive... they aren’t. They’re close to Epiphone territory price-wise...
I’m with you, I don’t love the cherry burst. If they come out with a tobacco or bourbon burst... I’d be all over this.
Hi Dave i got my Encore Les Paul today in Vintage Sunburst it has a bolt on neck which i like as i can change it for any type of les paul neck i want in future and it was so heavy , ive owned Epiphone les pauls before but the encore is so heavy i needed 2 arms to lift it lol , for an £80 quid guitar it has the Paul Kossoff and Slash tones really happy with it , I may have to get a Revelation les paul too one day.

Hi Dave great demo of the Revelation RTL 59 excellent playing as per usual very talented guy. Just recieved my RTL 59 today just in time for the easter weekend in cherry burst finish it's a colour i quite like although not a favourite colour of yours obviously these things are about personal taste and preference. Got this brand new on eBay listed at £279 i offered £249 company accepted my bid so i got this very good guitar at a very good price. This is my second Revelation guitar now bought the RTS 57 in Daphne Blue in February after seeing your demo/review earlier this year a lovely guitar. Bought this brand new for £215 so another bargain much cheaper than my Vintage V6 Firenza Red just as good and quite a bit lighter. Thanks for introducing me to the Revelation brand i hadn't heard of this company until quite recently. They appear to be producing very good guitars for very affordable prices i don't know how they do it. Anyway keep up the good work always enjoy your playing.

I might have to try some of those pickups in a PRS Zach Myers I have. I love the feel, weight and playability of the guitar but the pickups feel a bit flat and muddy compared to The SD's and single coils in my other guitars. Kind of like they have most frequencies but not ALL the frequencies I expect. I might have to try your odd tilt first though, it's mostly the bass side that seems a bit boomy with a blanket on top, maybe keeping the treble up and the bass side down will help.

Why did I make this post? Because so very many of us were thinking that he deserves to keep this guitar for his wonderful review. So now, right here you know he is allowed to keep it thanks to Revelation Guitars.

Got HV58's in my Revelation RT35. They do sound rather nice!
Recently bought a couple of Revelation guitars after very favourable reviews by Dave on here. Got the RTL 59 in Cherry Sunburst and the RTS 57 in Daphne Blue. Previously had Vintage brand V100 Honeyburst and V6 Sunset Sunburst guitar's. Be interested to hear some other opinions on both of these brands pluses and minuses. From people who have experience of either or both of these guitar brands.
If you're gonna refinish it, maybe to a video on it? Would love to see you doing a refinishing video

i'm glad you will keep it! It somehow goes with you no matter that you don't like cheery burst etc...Anyhow what is weight of that guitar? I'v bean telling to people for years that Alan Entwistle is genius but they get confused with cheep price LOL, same goes for Wilkinson they are by far my fav guitar luthier legends exactly due to fact they kept prices normal. Cheers.
The guitar is a lot lighter than a typical LP due to the different wood body. I prefer it. Doesn;t feel like its trying to break my back.

They do do a Honeyburst version Dave.... just checked out their website. I'm sort of with you on Cherry Sunburst, it can look stunning if done right, but if not done right you get that odd clownburst look which is horrible.
You deserve to be given that guitar I love a man who plays with feeling and who has a love for the blues like me I seen one of these guitars going for cheap brand new and at to buy it because you said you felt something special about the guitar and il tell you your not wrong it’s amazing guitar the Revelation RTL 59 Model I love mine.

Cause mine arrived today. Maybe there was a subliminal message in your Katana 50 Video as well. Sorry Dave, Les Pauls look best in cherry sunburst! It's my favourite finish for a single cut body. Great playing again Dave this thing sounds fanastic! They should let you keep it!

Pickups are made by Artec Alnico 5 means some kind of Giovanni GCH pickup ?
@@lucbos7516 I got done Artec alnico 5 PAF style with the nickle metal base and braided metal lines out from the eBay that sounded so I bought another day of metal cover ones and zebra set and they ALL sound awesome !!!!
The tone Dave's getting here reminds me of Tom Petty and Mike Campbell tone big time !

Hi Dave, I'm glad to see you using the Marshall MG more often of late, I do think it sounds better than your Orange (sorry because I know you love the Orange CR120). Love your videos, please keep posting and don't forget to send me your address so I can courier you my Vintage Lemon Drop because I think mine may have that bit more 'bite' that you are not hearing in yours, since I changed the pots and wiring. Would love to see you play mine in one of your vids.

Worth checking but owned a Vintage V100 about 5 years ago and ass i'm an inveterate tinkerer i ended up checking the value of the pot and they were 300k rather than 500k explained why it sounded a bit dark lol
yours may be the same . Ended up selling the Vintage and bought an Alden Blues line lp copy which was Mr Entwistles company before revelation . That was a damn fine guitar .
Unfortunately it got stolen along with a white Fender Japan 57 reissue strat grrrr .
so if anyone is offered for sale an Inverness green alden bluesline lol

Interesting. I've got one of these with the same pickups but the controls knobs are oriented the other way. The headstock says "Rock Line" so not sure what the intended difference is. Bought it cheap, second hand. I get huge speaker hum when the volume knobs are low so I have to have them on full and control volume from the amp. Not sure what the issue is.
That's that how you do a proper demo people! .if your pups, Korean, Chinese sound dark with no sparkle check the values of the volume pots. If they're foreign made they could be significantly less than spec. Some copies if they follow the Gibson lawsuit with the Heritage guitar company the volume pots had to be 250k which is half of what is spec.I personally love 1 megaohm volume pots in my HB guitars. You get more output and a little more bite.

Dave it seems to me that you hold your pick/thumb upwards on the higher 3 strings and downwards on the lower 3 strings... upwards for solos and downwards for riffs? More on this please... If you would be so kind to share your strumming patterns with us

It would be great if you can do a video one day of the newest Marshall MG100HFX (MG100HGFX)Head. Apart from the poor quality Marshall video (I think most of them are poor quality), there aren't any in-depth reviews of this amp on RUclips.

I heard somewhere that the Peter Green sound comes from the fact that the magnet on his neck pickup was reversed. Please correct me if im wrong.
The middle out of phase sound is because of that yeps. :)
