    Your video gave me hope and made my day. I fell in love with the korean succulents and have a good number in hand but my dilemma was I've already killed 2 of my expensive echeverias and those others that I got colored are just all turning green. I will try your tips and hoping to get an excellent result. Thank you for sharing your tips on how to take care of these beauties.🙂

    Hi Liz, just wanted to come here and thank you for this video bc this video single handedly taught me how to make a really good mix for my climate. Majority of people here find it impossible to grow succulents and that too colorful ones and I've succeeded in doing it thanks to all of your lovely videos. Our climate gets 2-3months of rain with 38°c+ summers and winters dont gk below 10 either yet my babies had been very colorful and unproblematic. For years i didn't understand how to keep them alive but for the past 2years I've been very successful. I keep recommending your channel to everyone who asks for advice ☺ hope you keep making more and teaching us more 💚 take care!

    We have a lot of soil wetter brands in our local store with the main ingredients which is seaweeds . I guess the best soil wetter is found in Australia like the Seasol. Also decomposed granites found in our stores are fine( more like sand) . I tried to strain it or sieve like you did to obtain bigger grains but not as big as yours. I have to order bigger grains granite from a Bonsai Master, Bonsai Jack , online, which is more expensive , but what a heck, I don’t care if it gives me pleasure. Thanks for sharing your experiences in growing succulents. To me, they are valuable. These are actual and first hand ( seen on videos) experiences that you are sharing and that means a lot. Thank you!

    You never cease to disappoint me with your videos. You are so easy to watch and listen to and your wealth of information is super appreciated. The tip of adding the extra gravel to the divas is so incredibly helpful. I suspect this will be helpful for any indoor succulents might not dry out as quickly!
    I do want to ask you about your sifting and what you use. I found stackable basket/classifier kits on Amazon but I find that they’re incredibly expensive and I’m never sure about the hole sizes.... I hate to drop a lot of cash on some thing that will be useless and wonder if you have any helpful sifting tips or maybe links to the proper sized classifying sifters?
    Thanks again sharing your credible garden with us. I just love looking at all of your babies and I’m enjoying learning some thing every time I watch one of your videos. I’ve even identified some of my own miscellaneous succulents just from watching you.

    Haha I love coming back and rewatching your older videos. I'm getting scared because as you know spring is coming and I will be bringing all of my babies outside and for most of them it will be there first time ever being outside and for all of them it will be their first time being out in the open. Last year I had them protected and this year I have all of my propagations grown up and the ones I had, the mature ones, last year are all going out in the open they will not be protected under the wraparound porch. I do have shade cloth but I honestly don't think I'll need it I do have to study the sun pattern and tree placement a little bit more but I think I'll be fine. I'm just more worried about leaving them to the rain and things like that so fingers crossedp! this will surely be a learning experience for me.

    I did find "Seasol" here in the United States. Found it on Amazon, had to seach for "seaweed liquid fertilizer" and it brings up several brands, NOT Seasol. I bought a 1quart bottle for $20 US.
    Glad I watched your video again for your recommendation of using 1/2 the stated amount of 5ml per gallon for growth. What happens when you use too much seasol?

    Your succulents are gorgeous...truly impressed! I'm wondering though... how do you go 3-4 months without watering them? Genuinely curious to know if I'm watering my succulents too much.

      Most of my plants are outdoors. During winter is when we go away. There's a lot of moisture in the air during this season and also we get frost and snow sometimes so they get a lot of watering this way. It also rain occasionally. I believe it's because of my soil mix and also my set up. Too much too long to explain here Taylor so please watch my future videos for better explanations. Thank you.

    Hi liz, for crested succulents like aeonium or agavoides or simple moonstone ones, do you use your diva advance soil mix or is it better planted on other type of soil mix. Thank you. I was reviewing again your soil mix as here in Phil its near Summer so i am thinking of changing my soil mixture.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 года назад +1

      First of all, I don't touch any of my plants in summer since most of them are dormant when temperatures are really high.
      All the plants you mention have different soil mix requirement, dormancy period, water requirement. They also have different times that they can be propagated or take cuttings that will make them grow fast. The pot you use will also dictates what soil mix would suit them.
      Aeonium loves water so it needs a loamy fast draining soil.
      Agavoides likes a drier soil which means they need to be soaked when watering and left to dry out before watering again. If planted it in a CERAMIC POT, I use a DIVA SOIL MIX. If planted in terracotta pot, I use a TROPICAL SOIL MIX if grown outdoors and Master succulents soil mix if grown in area protected from the rain.
      Pachyphytum MOONSTONE will grow in Master and Tropical soil mix. Can be watered a lot or not. They grow much easier compared to....Graptopetalum Lavender Pebbles "MOONSTONE" soil mix is dependent on the type of pot use. Otherwise, use the same as agavoides.

    Hi Lizk, fellow Australian. You can buy bulk chicken shell grit at produce stores if you were still interested. They should have 15kg bags or be able to bring this in for you. I would say rrp would be about $25 for 15kg or less.

      It was a pleasure meeting you Judy. The agavoides is called Echeveria Contapec Green and the other one is Pachyveria Ruth AKA Rough.
      Crushed granite is available from Corkhill Bros. Landscaping Supplier in Mitchell, ACT. Please watch video link below on how to process this and use in Master Succulent soil mix.

    I live in Tennessee. I have beautiful succulents outside that I have potted up. My concern is in the winter I have to bring them in because of cold weather. Will my house be too warm for them? Do they need a cold spell?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  3 года назад +3

      Most succulents love warm indoor temperature. The warmer the better...Except for the ones that love the cold like Sempervivum. They can be covered in snow and will still bounce back when spring comes.

    Sounds like it’s best to start using a diva soil mix first to check out their resistance. So when you decide that it needs a non diva mix? Your succulents are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing..

      Thanks for watching Maria Jenny. The problem with the Diva soil mix is it's hard to give out babies. I prefer to grow most of them on my master soil mix or Intermediate soil mix first so they can have babies and then I put them in the diva mix.

      You first have to know what succulent(exact name) you have to know what soil mix it needs.
