Rafa, what do you think about varying your risk/trade based on PNL?
I've seen different opinions of funded traders on this, people saying you should stick to the same risk even in drawdown with the argument of you allowing your trading edge to take you out of that drawdown, people saying you should lower your risk when in drawdown for psychologic effects and to get "in tune" with markets once again, basically to not let the hole gets too big
say a basic example
0.5%/trade if account is in drawdown, maybe 0.25%/trade if account is in really deep drawdown
1.0%/trade if account is positive
from a beginner perspective, someone who isn't funded yet

Tell you what helped me mate. Just trading one pair. I don’t look at anything apart from EU. Watch the whole of the Ict stuff bro..u gotta sit it all out to get all the info. These condensed versions miss out a lot of viral stuff. Trading isn’t about cutting corners, that’s what the 90% do and the lose. Always be extra 💪🏽💪🏽

My risk management = Overall drawdown/40 trades(monthly) and RRR 1:4
$2 risk per trade:) according to lots size - (0.01>$2) (0.10>$20) (1>200)

Do you use your risk % based on your allowed max drawdown? For example, if you have max total drawdown of $1000 and you risk 1%, that’d be $10… or do you risk based on the account size such as 100k

Great video! I am also using similar strategy and passed 3 funded accounts but I would not say I am successfully passing it. Because I just blown the funded accounts after one week. Totally not following the plan and being so eager to cover the losing trade immediately. I am working on it and improving my mindset.

New to the funded account realm. As in, I am out here researching the ins and outs, like ...for the first time. That said, I'm sure I could search for what it means to blow an account that's not yours. ( theoretically... unless it was?)

Yes, you only need to buy it once!
Just do 2% of your max drawdown for the challenge this allows about 50 trades. Usually the home run trade you will identify while dealing with some losses that help you see what you didn't originally see. That is the trade to throw some size on.
That will work with unlimited time. It didn't use to work with the time limit. If the max drawdown is 10% of the full account that translates to about 0.2% risk per trade on the full account or being in the 0.25% risk per trade range on the full account, if a person thinks in those terms to compare to the author of this video. Its not bad and is close to the 0.5% he suggests. I also am personally more comfortable with 0.25% and a 1:1 target on a $100,000. That's real good money so it's my personal goal, so I'm practicing in a demo to pass the larger account right out of the gate.

@@KimmelTrading Your average trader is going to identify the real trade after several losses anyways. Throw some size on that one. See it all the time with indicies for example. Your bias is long but the thing tanks 300 points. Throw some size on the buy. Problem is a lot of people be trying to throw size on everything and by the time they realize the real opportunity they already lost 5%. I see it time and time again.

I would suggest you just do a 5 or 10k and if you bust it up then the 100k should be easy mode too.
But if you don't then the capital you wasted on the 100k funded could have given you 3 or 4 shots at a lower funded account.
If you're a trust fund baby or are already in a 6 figure career then ignore this completely.
Otherwise you're like throwing money on a fire you didn't need to.

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.
Currently in a predicament where ive back tested so much that i feel like i will lose my touch if i dont backtest everyday. But I feel like constant backtesting could be hurting my live trading and burning me out.
What do you think?
Do light backtest before you trade live, kinda how athletes warm up before a game, i do this if i go days with a trade to keep muscle memory
Yeah, I used to do this to all the time. Backtesting backtesting, and stuck in a cycle. I just decided to simply start learning from the live market

I pass my 100k account and got funded recently, But I don't have any prop firm funded account before (this is my first funded account), I risk 1% per trade at phase1 and phase2, but I think in the funded account I will reduce my risk to 0.5% per trade that is more comfortable for my mind, once I have gain more than 8% profit I will consider to risk 1% per trade.
I've almost passed my 200k challenge. During the entire challenge I have only risk 500per trade (0.25%) and I've been stress free doing so. I don't trade with a stop loss so I have to keep my risk percentage low.

I would go as far as risking 0.25% on the funded account. Or 0.5%. Depends on the country that you live, and how many trades you take per week

No because I can almost promise that people fail these ones just as quickly because of impatience. They likely identified that with data.
The advanced trader has proven they can trade profitably with small risk. That doesn't meant they have proven they are profitable with large risk. Why not just keep doing what they do best in a new challenge using small risk and wait it out over the long term instead of trying to pass faster out of impatience? Perfect practice makes perfect.
Yes, that’s true. That’s why I say it only for the challenge; because there’s a whole different game in challenges (RR/pass rate/how much money you lose when you don’t pass, and how much money you do when you pass
I assume what is 1 percent risk, is 1 percent of the draw down percentage or the starting balance. I assume the drawn down amount, meaning if my drawn down limit is 8 percent, I'm risking 1 percent of the draw down ?

Risk management is not no.1. A profitable trading strategy is number one. You can have the best risk management in the world but if you don't have a profitable trading strategy then you'll lose.
