1:38 I think people need to remember that body shape plays a part in how certain styles look as well so they shouldn't feel discouraged when you prefer a certain look over the other, or when one way of styling looks better on you.
I'm pretty thick in the thighs, booty, hip region. I'm also short and always feel like my legs look stubby 😂😂 so I was always afraid of wearing loose pants. I thought they'd make me look bigger. But I stole a couple of trousers from my bf and was amazed at how flattering they were! My mom is a seamstress and I'm taking them to her to get cinched at the waist. Thanks so much for the tips 🥰🥰
All I needed was Gemary to tell me I needed to size up and take the pants in to hit the men's section of the thrift store and treat myself. I get so many more compliments on this outfits than ones where my pants "fit" if you're on the fence- thirft a $5 pair of pants from the men's section, spend $20 on a tailor to take them in and you will be UH-mazed

I completely agree about tailoring. I learned to sew recently and have been altering my oversized clothes to fit me better and it makes all the difference and I've also never felt more confident in my clothes!

So sad really....I just need to find a good tailor, they are expensive!! I brought a local tailor 3 skirts and he tried to charge me £70!! I could buy a new outfit with that money.

I'm not sure if sizing up then altering pants would work form me, as my waist isn't very defined and my hips are narrow. However when I was younger I always got pants in the wrong size, too small and often uncomfortable. Also I bought skinny jeans only cause I wasn't aware other cuts actually existed lol. Now I'd much rather get my pants in a larger size, high wasted and relaxed fit, and wear a belt if they sag a little. I got a nice belt which was expensive for me but I'm sure I'll use it forever and it makes my outfits much more interesting! Thanks for all the tips. I really like your stile
I agree with all of these! I also feel like hair and makeup plays an important role in elevating simple looks. For example, the middle part sleek bun is super in right now so if you style your hair like that no matter how basic your outfit is, you will automatically look trendier and more elevated.
I try to thrift as much of my wardrobe as I can, so it's been taking a while. I'm petite and I've been wanting to try high waisted pants because everyone is like try crop tops but that would be too much belly with mid rise😅 I found some in the women's section and they fit me like a glove and now I'm feeling myself and want some crop tops! I also have a pair of Levi's that are hiding waiting to be altered so this was my reminder

For the hot summer I like backless dresses if I don't want to show the front 😉 I don't want to buy an expensive bra for them so I probably just have my regualar bra on. Is it too much? I feel like it depends on the quality... High quality ribbed pieces (like the ones at 0:03) look very chic and add texture to an outfit, particularly if they are on the looser side. Bodycon medium-to-low quality ribbed pieces do look a bit cheap, specially if they pill.

Is your body hourglass shaped? I wonder if that’s why cinching in pants works for you? Not sure that would work for all body shapes.
