I'm just getting to the point where I'm able to begin learning this stuff. The slow mo's were great thanks. I loved the bit of the women in pale blue jeans doing some sort of grapevine. I'm trying to learn something like this now, the one Naomi Grigg shows.
Hi Nigel, Many thanks for your comment. It's great to learn this stuff. I always wear pads when teaching and practicing (unlike Cheryl who is so good she never falls over!). Keep an eye out for a video advert for The Arena coming soon - at the end it will contain some slow motion of one of our instructors doing an X jump through cones - should look pretty cool.
Glad you like it! We are at Places Leisure Centre in Camberley, Surrey. Saturday sessions including lessons 09:15 - 12:15 and evenings 17:45 - 19:45. www.placesleisure.org/centres/places-leisure-camberley/centre-activities/family-and-kids/
This is a sport for all ages. It's good to see young and old together this way. But I see that the confident expert skaters tend to be older. Much older. It looks like you've got to stumble for years and years to gain that experience.
It all depends when you start, and how much padding you are prepared to wear 😁. If you start early you will be like these kids. If you see a wobbly adult they probably started after 20 years old. It's great exercise and a great confidence builder. At Places Leisure Camberley we can get you skating in an hour on a Saturday. No skate hire now unfortunately.
+Niels Willemse A lot of the guys and girls use Seba roller-blade skates but loads of cheaper types are available - if you are looking to go outside go for roller-blades. Quads are more suited to indoors. Nobody used Aggressive or extreme skates, it's all done on standard "Recreational" ones. Also never buy hard "plastic" wheels.
