Excellent instructional video. No needless chit chat. No having to jump ahead 3 minutes of watching someone tighten screws or other pointless waste of time. Audio is clear and uncluttered by background noise. Thanks!
Wow it is a pleasure to listen someone do a video on RUclips who doesn't mumble or jam all his words on top of each other at light speed. This is excellent information. Thank You!
Excellent guide. Pretty much exactly what i did to fit except more thorough. HID conversions are one of the best things you can and should do to your car. Off to fit a 2nd kit to my other car (H1 8000k) as opposed to (H3 6000k)
*glued the bulb to the head light...I had to get 2 brand new headlights for the car. Ok I'm defiantly going to put HIDS on my car. Thanks for the video. This probability saved me $2k or more so I don't need to get a factory installed HID. Where can I find reliable aftermarket HIDs?
Good work man!! Great Video. But one thing I don't really recommend using electric tape to secure those two wires. I did the same thing and learnt the hard way. One day they went on fire. pretty scary shit. Only plug the (+) Positive into the OEM harness and the (-) to somewhere in the body.
@3DEMENTES No, the power for the ballast or w/e is from your old headlight wiring harness you disconnected. You put the power and ground wire from your new kit into the power and ground of your disconnected harness.
You do need projectors - not just for alignment purposes - it's also for light dispersion purposes. What have your light going every which way? It's to make your light dip and have a clean cut off. HID's are made to go with projectors.
@TheHemlen If you do plug it into battery then you would not be able to regulate on and off function of light. It is necessary to use headlight wires for power as that allows you to turn the light on or off.
Only depends. the kit I bought didn't needed to, altho I had to do some wiring to the OEM light plugs. some kits require you to throw a cable and hook it up to the battery. just buy a plug n play kit. It's way easier.
Okay, so I understand how to hook up one of two bulbs/ballasts. In the case that the power source for the ballast actually hooks up to the terminals on the battery, where does the second ballast/bulb system get power from?
@3DEMENTES no. all hes doing is for the power source is attaching the red and black wire from the ballast (black box) to the cars light source. which is where the old head light use to be
i was looking at your website and im looking forward to buying a kit from you guys but quick question... if when i install the hid kit and when the kit is running on daytime running lights, the hid bulb starts flickering, it means i need a relay right? and if i install it and the daytime lights stop flickering the ballast shouldnt blow up right? because i bought an hid kit and relay from ebay and one of the ballast blew up and i was wondering which one might be the one that caused the problem.
I assume that it's close to impossible to make an almost universal hid kit and in the same time match every light connector shape from every manufacturer. Use a heat shrink tube if electrical tape seems weird.
@@jony6107 there are only so many style connectors. The kit was set up for an H11 bulb, which only has one type of connector. If the kit was designed for a specific bulb replacement, they should have been able to include the correct adaptor based on that bulb.
@acballin15 No, the highs needs their own different bulb. I also wouldn't recommend installing hids in your highs just because it's not worth it. There isn't really any reason to have hid highs unless you use your highs on a daily basis for long periods of time. HIDs work better when they have time to warm up and stay on for a while rather than on and off constantly.
you have got 2 battries in your car while i got only 1 in my car. what do i do to install the second 1 which i dont have any battery that side thanks And also 1 more question Does these kits can install on any car as i am buying from ebay and i have got Suzuki Alto i just need a good view as i drive long distance for my work. am not using it for sportness but i am using it for my work So please give me a proper response and which Kit do i want in all weathers thanks.
excuse me, i am quite confused that, you only wired to the car battery for the power right? but how to you control to turn off and on HID? did I miss something from video?
Bought this kit. Biggest problem is you can only have on the low beams or high beams. Can not switch at will. You would have to get out and swap the wire to the other slot. They could have at least had a 3rd wire for swapping high to low since they cheaped out with the space connectors.
I also have the H11's and i am stuck at the 4:57 part. Seems my spades won't just slide into it's appropriate place.. I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu.. Any suggestion??
I had the old sealed beam headlights and converted to projectors with angle eyes and 10,000k hids, however my high beam and low beam only shine like 10 feet ahead of my vehical....do you know what could cause this or how to fix it??
The ballasts don't connect to the terminals. The wires running into the original lights are connected to each ballast respectively and then a connection is made from the ballast to the new hids.
hey man iv got h4 in an older vehical. i switched from sealed beams to a angle eye projector. just hooked up my hids exactly like you showed in this vid only my low beam works... i have no clue what the problem could be.....any suggestions?
how do I troubleshoot if these were previously installed on my 2006 tiburon...had it one day now I have no headlights and yes I checked all the fuses. Is there a way to check if my ballasts are working properly?
@nuszky ahahahh no dude dont stress. let me put it in to simple terms. 1. replace the old with the new light. 2 hook the black/red wires attached to the light to the black/red wires from the box. and thats it my friend :)
ive got MARQUEE HIDs and it dint come with the connections to got to the battery so i thought it went though the plug but it wont turn on hid buld judt the regular high beam bulb. so do you know what i can do about it?
Do you have experience with 55W HIDs? Do I require a relay? I want to install HIDs on my 2011 Explorer that has halogen projectors. It's a 9005 bulb and I'm not sure if it's a bi xenon headlamp. I heard that my vehicle has the bulb on full power always and it just moves a cover whenever I want high beams. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Someone please explain to me if HID conversion kits are legal or not. All I see online is a mixture of answers. I live in Indiana, and although I have passed several officers without any problem, I just want to be sure if I am compliant. Thanks
I just had installed mine today.. After u turn it on theresi heard a buzzing noise is that from your ballast? Because the tech guy he heard that ballast that sound he replace it a new one he said its deffective...
Ok So does it matte what ballast i get as long as its xneon right? one of mine has gone bad so im not sure if i need to have the same exact ballast as the other one. need assistance! lol
I think you are missing the units that give the light high output power and they go between the light bulbs and the ballast! Without them, you will have a low range light throw.
OK here is my problem i bought a kensun 8000k for h13 and it all comes with everything but the ends that you stick in the oem harness seem to be to big i know that i have the right type of equipment so what to i do please help
My HIDs are 8K bulbs but they are the same color as my stock bulbs, i cant hear the ballast making the noise or anything, and i wired it all up correctly, I NEED HELP!!!
@bmwmsport11 Hey,don't know if ur still looking for HIDs, but I definitely recommend DDM tuning's slim ballast kit. Excellent quality, lifetime warranty on the bulbs, and AMAZING price. plus, assuming u own a BMW cuz of ur username, DDM is especially for BMW parts
It seemed suspect to me that the mounting bracket didn't have a bilt hole on each end, but then the electrical taped connector, and not looming the wires completely ruined it for me.
10k is going to be deep blue so the light output is going to be shitty and most likely you will not be able to see as good as your stock headlights. I personally recommend staying under 7k for the most brightness. Make sure you have projectors in your car though.
Hi I installed brand new HIDs they work fine for 5/10 minutes then they both go out, when I turn the lights off and on they come back on, why is this can anyone help please? Thanks
@Pseud0Link actually yellow is legal up to 6000k is legal more than that is illegal and yellow is definately not higher than 6000k yellow is below the halogen lighting in the kelvin colour temperature...
Thank You!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just ordered mine a day ago and it seems very easy to install after viewing your video!
This is an excellent instructional video - camera quality aside!
Steps looks so easy I thought it would be hard but I can't wait til I get my kit thanks for the video :-)
Wow great video!!! I'm so glad I found this! Every other video on youtube wasn't as detailed as yours. Thank you!
Very nice HID set you are demonstrating with!
Thank you for video, helps me out to do the job the right way the first time
Excellent guide. Pretty much exactly what i did to fit except more thorough. HID conversions are one of the best things you can and should do to your car. Off to fit a 2nd kit to my other car (H1 8000k) as opposed to (H3 6000k)
Nice video, seems easier than I had previously thought
7min later and I have new 10000k hids :). Thanks man!
Your vid helped me learn how this process works
Thank you sir. That was very well explained and a perfect demo. Bravo. Gr8 video.
Very nice video with details.
Good job.

Great video!
Nice, simple instructions. Thanks.
Thanks man. It helped me figure out the use of the spade connection cable...v
Mounting the brackets is easier than I thought I thought u had to drill them in.. also you dont have to disconnect battery before plugging up ballast?
@3DEMENTES No, the power for the ballast or w/e is from your old headlight wiring harness you disconnected. You put the power and ground wire from your new kit into the power and ground of your disconnected harness.
Very helpful. Thank you!
You do need projectors - not just for alignment purposes - it's also for light dispersion purposes. What have your light going every which way? It's to make your light dip and have a clean cut off. HID's are made to go with projectors.

helpful video....got mine installed on my 09 dodge nitro!!!
No, the power source for the ballast is the connector that was used for your old bulbs. Just connect positive/positive and negative/negative.

Is the strip on the bulb supposed to be facing up or down
I was about to purchase the kit and you lost me when you used electrical tape, that connection should of been a plug if the kit was made properly.
100%
I assume that it's close to impossible to make an almost universal hid kit and in the same time match every light connector shape from every manufacturer. Use a heat shrink tube if electrical tape seems weird.

I did mine a couple years ago but I seem to remember just plugging one of the H.I.D. plugs into the stock headlight plug
Very helpful thank you.
@1bennettclint are you installing them in the right light? maybe you are accidentally trying to put them in the high beam instead of the low beam
No need to connect to batt it uses the factory wire harness that orig went to the factory bulbs. Same switch as you used before will work.
So just to confirm this, you would need to install a ballast on each side for each headlight?
@acballin15 No, the highs needs their own different bulb. I also wouldn't recommend installing hids in your highs just because it's not worth it. There isn't really any reason to have hid highs unless you use your highs on a daily basis for long periods of time. Hey did you not have to connect it to the battery ? and also how does the kit connect with the switch inside the car to turn the lights on ?
awesome video. was that buzzing at the end from the lights though?
The ballasts make that noise when they power up
Get a quick start module to speed up the warmup time.
I want a full high and low lights at night time which Kit should i buy for my Suzuki Alto thanks as i am thinking of buying 1 from ebay thanks.
very helpful thanks!
do you have to have a projector headlight in order to use these or can you use them on regular stock headlights?
How did you mount the block? And where inside side panel?
very good video
And just like that, i learned how to convert lights into HID's no school fees needed lol
you have got 2 battries in your car while i got only 1 in my car. what do i do to install the second 1 which i dont have any battery that side thanks And also 1 more question Does these kits can install on any car as i am buying from ebay and i have got Suzuki Alto i just need a good view as i drive long distance for my work. am not using it for sportness but i am using it for my work So please give me a proper response and which Kit do i want in all weathers thanks.

so there is no need to unplug the negative side of the battery so you don't screw up the computer? thank you
hey man iv got h4 in an older vehical. i switched from sealed beams to a angle eye projector. just hooked up my hids exactly like you showed in this vid only my low beam works... i have no clue what the problem could be.....any suggestions?
@3DEMENTES yes, If you get the ones with the relays.
Nice and simple.....
how do I troubleshoot if these were previously installed on my 2006 tiburon...had it one day now I have no headlights and yes I checked all the fuses. Is there a way to check if my ballasts are working properly?
Do you need special housing or can you use Halogen housing?
also, i have a 2003 chevy s10 v6 4.3ltr. which would be better? the computer warning canceller or the single beam relay switch?
@3DEMENTES Depends on your vehicle,I didnt have to on my jeep but i did on my dodge ram
@nuszky ahahahh no dude dont stress. let me put it in to simple terms. 1. replace the old with the new light. 2 hook the black/red wires attached to the light to the black/red wires from the box. and thats it my friend :)
how about the balast, is it need to aply 1 blast to 1 bulb or two bulb???
each bulb needs its own ballast
ive got MARQUEE HIDs and it dint come with the connections to got to the battery so i thought it went though the plug but it wont turn on hid buld judt the regular high beam bulb. so do you know what i can do about it?
@bgftball51 did you install the ballest correctly cause without the ballest it is simply a crapy headlight
Do you have experience with 55W HIDs? Do I require a relay? I want to install HIDs on my 2011 Explorer that has halogen projectors. It's a 9005 bulb and I'm not sure if it's a bi xenon headlamp. does the old wiring have to fit with the new? i wanna put hid's on my 9 series volvo but i dont want to buy the kit if it needs exstra wires
I just had installed mine today.. After u turn it on theresi heard a buzzing noise is that from your ballast? Because the tech guy he heard that ballast that sound he replace it a new one he said its deffective...
are the bulbs expensive when they do end up dying?
Ok So does it matte what ballast i get as long as its xneon right? one of mine has gone bad so im not sure if i need to have the same exact ballast as the other one. need assistance! lol
whats the difference between a 35w and 55w? ive never installed these before so excuse me if it sounds like a stupid question.
55W kits are brighter.
5:00 how do you determine which one is positive on the car? Is it always "brown" ?
Do you know where I can find eagle eye installation instructions for an 04 325i? The zenons don't work and only the brights work....
I think you are missing the units that give the light high output power and they go between the light bulbs and the ballast! Without them, you will have a low range light throw.

My HIDs are 8K bulbs but they are the same color as my stock bulbs, i cant hear the ballast making the noise or anything, and i wired it all up correctly, I NEED HELP!!!
8000K are not bright compare to 4300K - 6500K. What did you mean you could not hear the ballast making the noise?
Recorded using the new Potato Video Recorder 2000
What does using your ebrake have to do with the power consumption?
@JustAStoner204 adjusted the assemblies, and the high beam is attached to the hid bulb and for whatever reason its halogen??
good vid
No vent for the heat?
u don't have to plug it to the batery ?
Wats a good website where I can buy some HIDs for my genesis coupe?!
Is 10 k to bright? I understand that the brighter the faster it dies but does that mean it's way too bright
does any cable goes in the battery?
@bmwmsport11 Hey,don't know if ur still looking for HIDs, but I definitely recommend DDM tuning's slim ballast kit. Excellent quality, lifetime warranty on the bulbs, and AMAZING price. plus, assuming u own a BMW cuz of ur username, DDM is especially for BMW parts
nice buzz should really invest in a cancellor it gets rid of the buzzing for 10 bucks off amazon
What is it ?
is there a relay in there?
so great but why if my hid lights wire a blue and red
The black cable will always be a ground. So it doesnt matter what the other wires color is.
Because it seems to me that you don't hook both of the ballasts up to the battery.
It seemed suspect to me that the mounting bracket didn't have a bilt hole on each end, but then the electrical taped connector, and not looming the wires completely ruined it for me.

spray pam in the socket then fill with wires in place with hot glue it will form and make a nice male socket
Will this work on a bmw 1 series?
When I put the lights in high beam mode this system keeps working? Please somebody answer me this question...
thank you
@itsjustlizzieee It is definitely legal. Unless you change the look from white to blue or yellow or any other color. That is illegal.
@Pseud0Link actually yellow is legal up to 6000k is legal more than that is illegal and yellow is definately not higher than 6000k yellow is below the halogen lighting in the kelvin colour temperature...
