This beautiful fence truly was a crowning touch on this lovely house and front garden. It brings out such a distinguished presence to the entire home. Lovely!
I've been building a Japanese garden here in the desert of Phoenix Arizona US for 4 years. I wish we could get bamboo in large amounts at a lower cost. I did grow some Giant Bamboo so got to work with it some. It's a wonderful material. I'm surprised in this case to see the wooden posts used I assume because it's treated to last longer being in the ground. But surprised they weren't wrapped in bamboo. I'd imagine though they will kind of disappear when the bamboo turns light brown. Your videos inspire me. Thank you.
Nicely done and really adds beauty to the house. The bamboo will dry out and the fence deteriorate in about four years but thats accepted in Japan when using this plentiful material. Plastic bamboo fencing is very popular in Japan now which lasts longer but even that takes a beating in Japan’s subtropical climate.
Yes, Bamboo is quite beautiful in its own right. A fence like this, can last into 20 plus years, as long as the bamboo itself is not in contact with damp earth. It will naturally shed rain and is prized for its gray color in age, as much as its golden color that follows this fresh green. Bamboo is One of my favorite material all round...👍
It's so beautiful ! I love the simplicity and the complexity of simple bamboo that brings and ties everything together. So natural and so beautiful. I am your new subscriber !
wow! I really like Bamboo you can use it for everything. I grew up in the Philippines, some of the materials of our home is Bamboo. And have designs too, by my father.
Bamboo isn't as simple to use as some people seem to think. Even bamboo which has been treated with fire and varnished can crack if exposed to the sun and rain.

Given that the many sections have been screwed together, what is the significance of the rope to tie pieces together? 多くの部分がねじで固定されているとすると、部分を結び付けるロープの意味は何でしょうか。

Beautiful craftsmanship, How long does the bamboo stay green and do you have to treat it with anything? Thank you.
Well, depending on the season, the color will change to yellow in about a month!
In Japan, that color change is also considered to be beautiful.
@Jom James The fence posts have likely been treated.

those 45-deg cuts with a hand saw are perfect. Do you need to treat/paint/stain the bamboo for weather protection?
I am going to be the king of bamboo-fence makers
Only nice when it’s new. Time goes. The bamboo turns yellow or brown
Given that the many sections have been screwed together, what is the significance of the rope to tie pieces together?

Beautiful job, thanks for sharing your art. How long will last the bamboo before a replacement is needed.
Me encanta! Excepto por el hilo y los nudos. Me gustaría más si no los tuviera. O si fueran hechos con el Bamboo en último caso.

One question, why do you tie with rope at the end??
Will the fence stay green, or will it turn brown/tan over time?
Does it grow in the USA ?
Can you schedule to work on our house soon? Thanks in advance!!!
Can you tell me the name of the knot on the pipe above.

As for the tree you asked about, I think it's probably a sasanqua.
@@JapaneseGardenTV Thanks!
It looks a lot thicker than a camelia sasanqua 🤔 ...unless it’s very old 😯
Very nice fence! I wonder where the bamboo comes from; someone's bamboo forest in Kyoto?
Thank you!😊

I would like to ask about bamboo treatment. Does the Japanese have a special treatment for bamboos from any termites or insects?
In Japan, the bamboos they use are covered in insect repellent!
