BTW, the floorboards here are my attic floorboards. A couple of years after moving in, we still had not visited the attic. Finally, we got a ladder and climbed up to discover the floorboards were not even nailed down! They were loose and simply laying over an old framework of cross beams. We also found an ancient handwritten bill for bottles of wine. I pictured the workmen sitting up in the attic, getting drunk and saying, "To hell with it, we're not nailing down the floor. Who will ever know?" My next thought was, I'm going to film this and finally do something with this MAGAZINE concert I've had sitting on the shelf since 1980. Howard DeVoto's lyrics are so unique and evocative.

I am just rewatching this and remembering the excitement of filming it. This was one of the first concerts I filmed here, and the club had positioned a box as a perch near the front of the stage. I was connected to the mixing board and recording decks by a 100 foot cable, which meant I was tethered, and the audience could yank on my cord if they were not careful. Just the moment before the stage curtains opened, they rarely were shut but they did this for a dramatic effect, the audience shoved me off my perch onto the stage! I was not planning to be there, and neither were they planning to have me there. I was a half centimeter away from a very surprised Robin Simon and there was not much wiggle room. I tried my best to go with the flow. I know a few times when I was lost, and also when I was trying to get a shot that Robin was blocking. We eventually got into a better flow and i finally got a few shots of the drummer and keyboards. I was all the while electrified by Mr. DeVoto. It was overwhelming, intoxicating, scary, wonderful !

MAGAZINE : Song From Under the Floorboards 2235pm 20.9.23 i was gonna ask: are you or were you Granada tv inclined...? the film seems to suggest Antohny h Wilson inclined... though, again, IKON productions could or can be misleading in many ways.... people like you, you the cameramen or the director, are very lucky people. and you dont know how amazed folk who watch these skits are - re: being there and having to soak up the event for couch potato viewing... wow, sir....other less notable kids need to stop relying on their grandchildren and kids for info as to what is happening and be part of the throng..... ie: call upon the study or object of desire personally...

I don't know what GRANADA TV is, it's British, right? I met Tony Wilson when I filmed the USA debut concert of New Order. But I was and still am totally independent. BTW, I'm not a "sir", I'm a lady. It was almost impossible to be a cameralady in these days as the job was exclusively male dominated. There were a few other independent women filming on the scene I would eventually meet. I had my own film camera already and was hooked on camera work since high school. It is a miracle I filmed all these concerts because I was invited as a multi media performer, not a cameralady, and the guy who invited me did not want any band filmed if they did not pay first. On his nights off I started filming all the bands and recording it when I could dumpster dive for used cassettes. He left and I took over. The rest is history. @@JJONNYREPP

@typo pit It's an Ovation Magnum 2 - they pop up on eBay reasonably regularly. Eastwood has bought out their own version/copy that's about $800(ish) - it doesn't have the graphite strip thru neck but looks pretty cool otherwise (they also did a McGeoch tribute model of his Yamaha SG)

Thank you so much. When I first climbed into my attic and saw the floorboards were not nailed down, I was so excited. I knew right away what I must do before fixing the floor!

I just re-posted this as I saw the other upload cut off the end half of the song! We can't have that! There are some great keyboards by Dave Formula at the end!

@@VJ1tv I know, want this, just concerned giving my payment details I guess. I share things on my channel for free, and they are not asking much at all, just the payment details I guess. See how I feel.
