It's called "X ten". It is said to be a very difficult feat to achieve. But frankly we hear such episode too many times in Korean archery. During 1996 Atlanta Olympics women's archery final match, Kim Kyung-Wook hit the camera. Twice.

They do quite well in Badminton - which is a physically demanding sport. There are others like taekwondo, swimming, weight lifting, baseball where they're quite good. Track&field just don't have a tradition in the country and being short is a disadvantage which explains why generally Asians don't do so well there.
Thinking that Archery doesn`t require physical exhaustion or physical activity is the wrong point to start from. You need a strong back, trained shoulders, strong legs to stand the stress of the whole body in that position for several shots and mental prowess to not lose focus. It`s not as stressfull as track races, no, but it doesn`t have to be in order for the assumption to be false. There is a reason track races don`t last long.
Its really not though. It is a fairly common (though high end expencive) recuve bow. They just have a stabilizer and some other accesories on it. Take those off, and its a plain recurve bow. (Its not even a compond bow, which would be closer to being "mechanize archery" then this.
It took katniss three arrow to cut a burlap sack probably about 20-30 meters away and considering how small the gold area is and that they are 70 meters away I think they are better than katniss
how hard can this be? pull, release. there seems to be no real technique involved like one that you would need when e.g. throwing a dart. is it just about standing at the right spot and tilting the bow in the right angle?
How hard can running be? Aren't you just, you know, running? Anyone can do that. There's no real technique involved. My point being, I'm sure it takes an extreme amount of strength and skill and practice. It wouldn't be an Olympic sport otherwise.
Well for 1, holy crap i would of never expected that she was a girl. 2 my method works as well, also i never complained i wondered why she was doing archery the way she is.
As far as I remember (2016) her world record of qualification set at 2004 was never broken!!! Maybe even now. So she is a legend in this sport and you apparently know nothing of archery.
She's the reason why I took up archery. She's my idol

My german girl was so close to stop the corean run in women's single... Too bad she hit that 7 in the most unlucky moment
I like her face !
Now there's an idea for the Olympics. One on One Archery. The medal ceremony would be pretty quick.

This is nothing compared to the Rio archers who were regularly getting 29s with the odd 30. In Rio she wouldn't have even medaled with those shots.
