"Infested" doesn't imply there is anything unnatural about their being there, it just means there are lots of them, in the same way saying a particular patch of grassland is tick infested. It just means there are loads of ticks there. There's nothing wrong with saying "shark infested waters".
@@aftershock7064 A bit of a different situation. The analogy would be more accurate if you said a shark attack was more like going for a walk in the park and getting mugged, or, if you want to leave out any capacity for moral understanding, going for a walk in a national park and getting attacked by one of the resident fauna.
@@andrewhall7176 Yeah I know but it's still funny to me. I get what you mean and I understand that but still makes me laugh, like people are confused that sharks in the water or something.
@@aDaewooLanos Oh well, different strokes for different folks. Thank you! I would have guessed that Southern California would have made the list over Norrth or South Carolina. Glad to have my preconceived notion checked!
I guessed em all. But thought Australia was first. But this list is "places u'll be more likely to get attacked at." Not that it makes it any more comforting but imagine all the massive things moving through the Carolinas. Move over puny, ugh! Carolinas always make some top deadly list. Still the top 5? 🤷🏻♀️ I just imagine more massive things & more activity in other places. Also, I just didn't imagine alotta majestic things too common out here, ha.
Amazing animals, but I confess I wouldn't like to meet one face to face. Still, considering how many people live long the shorelines of these five places, in many ways it's amazing that there aren't more attacks!
Florida, 0 fatalities. But reunion island on the other hand… and what about Egypt and the Red Sea? Hello? Take out North Carolina and put instead Recife, brazil…
I have a feeling it's directly related to how many formal reports are made- probably far more shark "attacks" in high density areas in south america, africa and SE asia, but it's places like florida that make sure every single reported nip gets put on a list.
Not yet a hotspot, but more something you might want to investigate: the rest of the US EAst Coast and Canada, at least, as far north as Nova Scotia. To explain, this is more of a *former* hotspot that is re-emerging. There are records from centuries past of big sharks patrolling the waters offshore; in the case of New York City, they are written in Dutch. (yes, it was that far back.) at the time, most of the eastern seaboard plus Canada was rotten with seals, the favorite food of great whites. (bull sharks mainly occupy territory from New York to Florida in America, and tiger. Sharks are mainly migrational. Trust me, WE GOT EM. And historically, more than just Florida.) Because of pollution and industrialization, not to mention hunting by fisherman, the seal population plummeted. By the 1970s they were only found in pockets of Maine and Canada. Cut to the past 20 years. The water is now much cleaner. The whales have come back. Compared to some pockets of Europe, we are doing splendidly, and the fish have come back. This equates to a very big population explosion in beasties like seals and purposes And guess who have come home?!! - You betcha!!! They really are great white sharks, returning to the area around Cape Cod just like in the movie!! They have that seed in these waters for over 100 years!! The tiger sharks are getting it on the action; the bull sharks never left, at least in points from New York south!! They have been found within striking distance of New York Harbor& within a few miles of Boston and Baltimore!! ” we are gonna need a bigger boat?!!” -PEANUTS!! Tsuki, get a load of ALL the big boats that full of scientists that keep coming back here in summer now that the shshatks are returning!! Even Spielberg could not write this shit!
This vids completely sucks! Your list is junk! Way off base! Florida may be the shark attack capitol of the world but it is hardly one of the most dangerous! There are so many more deadly shark attack hot spots!
What about Mexico? I've heard that the Sea of Cortéz, the Revillagigedo archipelago and the Pacific coast that surrounds the Baja California Peninsula, off the coast of Mexico, they were also a marine highway, meaning that most marine animals, sharks included, every year, they migrate here to spend the winter, mostly by feeding and breeding purposes. 🇲🇽🏜🏝🌊🦈🐟🐠🐡🦩🐧🦭🐬🐋
A local radio DJ went on a offshore snorkeling tour with guide. I dint know how far offshore, but it was aways off shore. The DJ saw sharks in the water and stated I'm not going into the water with shark. The Tour guid said there was nothing to worry about because 90% of shark attacks happen along the shoreline. The DJ looked him straight in the eye and said...Thats because 90% of the people are along the shoreline. He had a point.
Yip. It's like when people say you are more likely to be killed by a bee than a shark. Yes, but that's just because your chances of encountering bees is much higher. What they are really talking about is likelihood of encountering that specific animal. What would be more accurate would be to say "If you are in the presence of a shark, and if you are in the presence of a bee, which is more likely to attack you, and which attack is more likely to kill you."
Movies taught me that if you're stranded if you're not connected, they're going through a whole freaking procedure to send out help. Good luck. For when and if the waves get higher & there's sharks that already killed and or attacked. Also that when there is actual panic, they're gonna sugar coat it. If that, they might not even report it. Yt taught me if u see dolphins, wish for the best.
Me who’s going to my beach house in outer banks nc we’re a 9 foot great white was pinned and is on the same coast where all the Walton county and Florida ones are😢
Love when people talk about attacks in 'shark infested waters'. It's like uh no they live there - if anything it's human infested waters.
Like someone breaking into your home and being surprised when they get shot😂😂😂

I am so happy to see a brand-new video on your channel. You made my day! Thank you very much - Grazie mille
Why you don't mention about south Africa and Brazil In this Video!?
Yes! Recife has had loads of attacks!
Thank God there is a cute and funny shark on youtube who is neither aggressive nor deadly: Gawr Gura.
Hololive enjoyer over here lol
Very strange top comment for this video
I thought Egypt would be included. Great video!
When the setting for a shark story is false bay. You know its a great white

I think California has more fatal attacks but fewer total attacks

No suprised Australia is on this list
Knew my home state of NC would be here
Eyyyyy 0.45 I see you Perth
Sayo from dead mount death play approves
What about South Africa for shark attacks?
Yeh that's what I thought, I'm Aussie, and even I thought South Africa would be number one
Thanks!
Reunion
yeah Reunion is definitely a hotspot but because of the small population it doesn't have the most attacks
Let's be afraid of everything.
Wtf are you talking about ?
I think you missed one important stat, and that is what were the people doing when they were attacked? Surfing, diving or swimming?
Amazing animals, but I confess I wouldn't like to meet one face to face. Still, considering how many people live long the shorelines of these five places, in many ways it's amazing that there aren't more attacks!
Ban 🦈cage diving. Chumming and feeding them makes them associate 🐒 and food
We learned that lesson with 🐻
Why am allowed to feed a 🦈 but nor a baboon

Could you do a British sharks video? I think people would be surprised how many we have.

Reunion island

Not gonna lie, thought South Africa would be #1
Great video as always ❤ What about South Africa and Reunion? I heard that these spots are pretty dangerous too
I'm surprised they were included, as well as the Red Sea area.
Can you cover the 5 invasive species in Jamaica please?
Or west indies overall
@@itsmeblank4028 just Jamaica
considering how many sharks and humans there are, these numbers rly aren't that bad at all.. i'm surprised
Brazil is particularly bad, Jaboatao dos Guararapes which is a part of the Recife city area. 62 attacks in 30years, 25 of them terminal

Sharks are awesome, gotta remember we are in their world when in the ocean.
Let me guess, the top 5 are in salt water .
What about Bahamas, Mauricio islands and South Africa ?
Réunion - I heard there are lots of sharks.
There are relatively few shark attacks in Réunion (22 from 2012-2023), but almost half of the attacks there were fatal.
Excellent video as always!
I kept guessing one would be South Africa. I Must be totally influenced by the movies

Pls Indonesia vidio❤
I wouldn't demonize sharks, maybe Florida though
I live in CPT. 🇿🇦A few years ago 4 fatal attacks happened in a row. Their was public panik that the 🦈 where attacking 😅
When he say 80 million I remember it being 100 million does that mean less are being killed ?
Of course it would be in North Carolina
Don’t go to places that has ocean preventing shark attacks
4/5 are in the US
That's insane to me.
Thank you for shark video❤🦈
Was not expecting my state to be mentioned.
I haven't seen the video yet so I'm gonna guess
Florida, Hawaii, California, South Africa, and Australia
you're close
@@TsukiCove yep, got 3/5 correct.

Why did you put individual states in the US but not individual states of Australia?
South Africa is the shark capital of the world
80 million a year, that's a very sad statistic.
There are too many humans on this globe.
