Ronald Macafee that’s a very good point. However, just because it’s never happened to you, doesn’t mean it never will. If you’ve heard of stories of other encounters, then the probability of it eventually happening is possible, and you should therefore practice preventative measures based on those stories. But realistically, yeah, if it’s never happened in twenty years, you most likely won’t be as prepared. Similar to small town police not being as prepared or equipped to handle a mass murder as a major city like LA.

Fluid just to start. Golden hour, if you are young and have a horrible car accident usually a life flight crew can save you, but it’s that golden hour, you must be repaired quickly, thank god for these very talented people. There has got to be a direct warning about sharks and other dangerous animals at the "adventure" sites. It's not like the locals are bad people but things like this happen so rarely that people don't take it seriously.
And please stop fucking petting the pigs. Let them be. Bahamians should know better than to bring all these people constantly to the pigs at rose Island and exuma. It's not sustainable not even close.

With the severing of both the brachial and femoral arteries however, I do not think even a tourniquet could have spared her given the time that had passed before the boat even got to her. Life is so bizarre. I mean, what he said ~ about "not supposed to even be on that boat...". When your on Vacation You think the Company that Book these Excursions have at least some Safety Measures out , But they do not. There was an Excursions with Dolphins that Children was Booked on . There was some Passengers on the Upper Deck that Alerted Several Shark out a Little Bit from the Dolphins . There had been ppl Attacked that close to Dolphins the Sharks are after the Dolphins , But attack anything in there Path.

I think it’s important as a tour guide to at least point out the fact that it’s possible to see sharks. As others have mentioned, the company advertises themselves as a very care free and laidback excursion / snorkeling experience, whereas most are straight forward. Most will tell you the warnings and dangers of what you’re doing so you’re aware. This company did not. As a vacationer paying for an experience, you put your trust in the tour guide to let you know the dangers. “Hey it’s common to see sharks in this area” or “watch out for the sting rays” etc.

I asked the guide, what kind of sharks do you have here in the Bahama's and he said, nothing to worry about, they're all small ones and they don't come close to the beaches. They're more afraid of you and will stay away. Thank God we didn't see any but they are liars and only want those tourist dollars. I can only imagine the terror that Jordan and her mom suffered. The best you can do is look up stats for attacks on people in different places, don't go swimming alone or at dawn or dusk, cross your fingers, and hope for the best! 🤷‍♀️

Lydia, what she is saying is that this is a third world country. Yes, they “should have” this and should have that, but when you go to another country, safety measures don’t happen. I learned this while visiting Mexico. You can kiss your American rights good bye down there. They don’t exist. I know of someone who died in a prison because they would not allow his wife to give him his medication for diabetes. And forget suing. Things are very different in other countries. I remember staying in a hotel in Cancun once when our kids were toddlers and the balcony had a railing that the bars were so wide that a kid could fall right through. They don’t have the building laws down there to make the rails more narrow. It was the stupidest thing I ever saw. But again, it’s not America, and we have to remember that when we travel abroad.
