I think your closet brackets are supposed to be on the underside of the wire shelf and not on top. I absolutely hate these too and replaced ours with Pax wardrobes from Ikea. Best purchase ever!! Utilizes floor to ceiling and customizable. You did an amazing job. I love organizing and decluttering I find when I start I can't stop. ❤
To make your rack more stable and sturdy, put up a one by three, across that back behind the rack. Full length of the closet. Be sure it screws into the 2×4, or stud. If you do this it will keep your shelf and clothes rod up, longer. Until you can redo your storage.
I got rid of all of the plastic hangars in my house a few years ago. Hated the clothes falling off the plastic ones. Never regretted it. My closet looks neater without all the half hanging stuff. Love how your new home is coming along!

Im really impressed. A lot of Tubers have closets jammed with clothes. You spend money on house and kids 🦋🦋🦋🦋
One last idea, maybe put your pagent dresses in Dress Garment bags? They are soft and flexible. And can be hung up.
As for the shoe racks. They are cute and handy but they collapse easy. And that's very frustrating. So maybe super glue the four main Rods in place. It will help. It helped me.

🦋 It is smart to put the lightweight items on the shelves until fixed. We had to redo our shelving in our closet about 5 years ago. All my shelving fell crashing down literally after I walked out. It made such a mess and took a while to clean up and afford to fix it right. Your closet looks great and functional. You did a great job! We have this one room that collects all the things. I did my closets in December. Its such an amazing feeling to declutter and only have the items we use. I feel calmer and in control when my living space is organized 🦋🦋🦋
IKEA offers great closet options. They’re cheaper than other closet storage companies. I echo others about vacuum sealing pillows for easier storage. 🦋
My closet is so tiny there’s really no way to organize anything. It’s also and under the stairs closet. Our house is 85 years old so not a lot of space anyway. I loved watching you organize. It did give a few ideas. Hope y’all have a great weekend. 🦋

If you put a dryer sheet or 2 in your totes. It helps with the musky smell while storing.
Just so you know those bars holding up the shelf are supposed to be installed under it, I only know because I just bought a new construction and that's how the builder did it. Just thought you should know.

You could put your cricket machines on the top shelf so that gets some of the clutter out of the floor. You could put other smaller stuff up there too.

Hi Kelly you did a really good job of decluttering. I also dislike the wire clothes racks they put in every home these days. They are junk in my opinion. I put wooden ones in my self they are so much nicer. Nothing falls thru them. The shoe racks worked out great. The pictures of your babies when they were smaller were so sweet. You are so correct the time goes by way too fast. Cherish every moment. I use a shoe box that I covered with contact paper for all my under garments and I roll all them it makes so much more room. Yes, I use pillow covers over my throw pillows. I ended up with so many pillows and had to declutter a bunch, so I just prefer to buy pillow covers. Amazon has lots of good ones.
I love how your closet just looks like "a closet." It makes me feel better about mine to see other "normal" closets. I said that in my last closet declutter video, which I'm due for another one soon. I'm planning to declutter and organize my closet in a Spring cleaning video. 🦋 🦋 🦋

I have switched all my hangers over to the velvet and I absolutely love them!
I switched over to velvet hangers about a year ago. I love them! Sometimes it takes a little bit of work to get the clothes on, but it’s worth it as they don’t fall off. Also, the velvet hangers take up way less room on the closet rod!🦋
It looks great! My Hubby and I have started on a declutter journey. We started in the fall, and we have more to go. Such a great feeling.😊🦋

When you redo your closet, you definitely have room on the one end to do shelves for bins or whatever. Thats a nice size closet and it turned out great.
I do this about 3 times a year. I understand about the hangers, I have the velvet ones and love them, they take up less space and bonus points for them looking nice. I also categorize my clothes, I tried grouping short sleeves/long sleeve etc. But for some reason it just didn't work for me, color grouping seems to be best for me.
And yes, pulling out everything is overwhelming and very time consuming, but don't you love how it looks and makes you FEEL when all done!? Makes me not mind so much putting away my clothes after laundry( and I despise that chore)😁

I’m working on Decluttering and simplifying my home as much as I can I just don’t have as much time to keep up with house know that we homeschool and it is bothering me I’ve also simplified our homeschool routine this is our first year so big learning curve and figuring what works for us .

I don’t like the cheap plastic hangers either because they break easily. I had those shoes rack, and they didn't last long, and I put them in the trash and got a wooden one from Walmart. It holds my grandchildren shoe .🦋

If you store the sheets inside the pillow cases it’ll save you more space
Funny story, we were in bed one night, and we were startled awake by a big kaboom. All my shelves and clothes rod, fell. The original screws and supports were not hat great. Lol

Looks great! I couldn’t really see specifically if you have support brackets UNDER the shelves too- but I’m pretty sure those brackets on top of the shelves are supposed to be under the shelves instead to support weight 🦋

I have bought the same size plastic bins for my kids and put all of their stuff from a baby all the way through school. I even hired someone to make a quilt out of my son's old sports uniforms and such. My kids love going through their boxes on occasion...for the boys their wives/girlfriends enjoy it!
Also, we recently upgraded all of our closets to the Close Maid wood shelving units you find at Lowe's or Home Depot. Much more sturdy and way more beautiful than the wire stuff.
