This past week I deep cleaned my entire house and organized and decluttered every room I took several trips to our local thrift store to drop off my items. I also did out side storage area and did another run to drop more items it felt so good and I made a decision to really go threw everything and make a decision what I really wanted to take with me into the new year. Happy New Year to you and your family thank you for working so hard to provide amazing videos for us all I really do appreciate you.
I live in Washington state now grew up in NC. Yes I will be having black eyed peas, ham, collard & cornbread. The cornbread represents gold. People here in Washington don’t celebrate with this New Year tradition. It is impossible to find fresh collards or any greens here so I have to settle for collards in a can. My husband doesn’t like collards but likes the rest.
!Happy new year! 🎉🎊 I'm glad you published this video, I'm alone with my bedridden mother (she has Alzheimer's) and I'm with her 24/7 and that's how we'll spend it as always, she and I alone, it's been about 7 years since I stopped working to dedicate myself to her, but I am happy to be able to do it, it is difficult because there are expenses but if I have asked until now it is because God has sustained me and will continue to do so, God continue to bless you and your family and again thank you for uploading a video 😹😹😻😽 from Puerto Rico.
Happy New Year Eve! Yes I am getting my Christmas decorations down also. It is sad. I went with red and white theme this year. So my pillow covers are red with white snowflakes on them. I’m leaving them on for winter. Our traditional New Years dinner is Pork and Sauerkraut. We usually put some pork ribs or chops and kielbasa in a roasting pan with the sauerkraut in the oven. It smells so good cooking. But we love sauerkraut here. I know a lot of people don’t. Then we make mashed potatoes to go with it. YUM! Happy New Year 🎆🎊🎈 🦋
Girl, move your top fridge shelf up a couple of holes lol. You have so much wasted vertical space at the top of your refrigerator and moving it up will still allow you to keep the bigger items on the top shelf and give you more room on the middle shelf. Just a friendly prompt And I have a permanent Christmas tree in my bedroom all year round and change out the lights for each season. I too love the glow at night. ❤️🦋
Hope you all have a happy new year. My grandbaby was born Dec. 28th. He was 8 weeks early. He weighed 3 lbs 14 oz and was 16 in long. Both baby and mom are doing great.🩵🦋
Our tradition is to have black eyed peas for luck, pork for health and cabbage(greens) for wealth. We usually do a pork roast with black eyed peas and cabbage swerved in various ways(smothered, cabbage rolls, slaw…Happy New Year!🦋
Great video. Your tree are beautiful i can understand why you do not want to take it to a box yet😂. Enjoy🦋🦋 we have more traditional food in SA around christmas not really for new year. But over the years due to prices more and more of the traditions are dying off. I grew up with a leg of lamb and broccoli and salads and trifle were desert. Now a day it ice cream for desert and bbq with watermelon and salads. Quick quick😂
I love this video it really got me motivated. I am still sick from getting something during the holiday break, but I am doing little things as I have energy to do so. I love love doing winter decorations. I don’t take down all of my decorations, only the Christmas themed ones, and I’m thinking about leaving up one of my trees as well, and just taking all of the decorations off of it. I love anything with woodland creatures or nature, or something with frost on it snow people, a snow theme of any kind there are just so many cute things you can do and I found a bunch of ideas on Pinterest in case anyone is interested. It’s a great way to keep your house from being gloomy in that. After the holidays going into winter. ❄️☃️ 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
I’ve always ate black eye peas and greens and maybe cornbread and sometimes it was a meatless meal. Whatever I was in the mood for. But I’ve always heard that the black eye peas are for ( change / money ) and the greens are for paper money. Anyways I hope we all have great blessings this next year. One thing I want to change about myself is to make more time for reading the Bible. Yay me, I actually got to read the Bible late this morning before any distractions ❤🎉😇🙏 I pray that I can do this everyday. And I will also read the Bible to my cousin who lives with me. We will have Bible study twice a week ❤
Growing up we would always go out for dinner. Since I've been married we try to cook steaks or sometimes we'll do tidbits. Love that your leaving your tree up. Thank you for the motivation. I'll need it for cleaning my house. Butterfly emoji❤🌸
Our decor came down last week and the tree came down today. I had 'grand' plans to get all of my cleaning done today - lol!!! I did get more than half of the cleaning done and all of the laundry. I'll tag up tomorrow (we never have any plans on New Years - we just hang out). Tomorrow, we'll have collard greens, black-eyed peas, cornbread and pork roast!
I grew up with our New Year’s Day supper being… cabbage & corned beef… health black eyed peas… money plain yellow cake… good luck My mom would also fix mash potatoes and cornbread just because it goes good with the New Year’s Day supper. I carry on my mom and dad’s traditional New Year’s Day supper that I grew up with! Happy New Year’s to you and your family! 🥳
🦋Before I moved to the south, we didn't have a traditional New Year's dinner. I've been in the south for over 50 years and now we have field peas (for good luck) over rice and cabbage (for the money) and nothing else. Since my husband and I have been married, he does all the cooking which is my favorite part of the dinner. 🤣
Our New Years eve tradition is to fondue shrimp, mozzarella cheese, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, asparagus, all dipped in a Tampora mix. Fun !!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Kelly, for under kitchen sink you might want to consider pull out drawers. I had my brother-in-law install two for me and I love them. Makes it so much easier to get the cleaning product you need. I have several pull out drawers and they are very helpful.
I agree with you about putting Christmas away. It's such a beautiful time of year and so short. All my Christmas decor except my tree is also put away ❤🦋❤
Kelly, that is what I do removing "Christmas"..... I now keep all the frosty looking vines and put up all Snowmen and Snowwomen for decorations till March. The house looks too plain after the tree comes down and all the Christmas decorations. Arlene
Didn't cook this year for the first time in probably 30 years. I had to work and my kids left to go back home. They both live out of state. Usually I do either a pork roast or pork tenderloin. Cabbage and potatoes, black eye peas and rice, macaroni and cheese. Corn bread. Some years I do cabbage rolls instead of cabbage and potatoes.
I make homemade cream corn with frozen corn. You add sugar, salt, cayenne pepper, and heavy cream. Let it simmer about 10 minutes and then add flour to some melted butter and mix it into the cream corn. It’s so good. 🦋
We have a woman in town who leaves her tree up year round and decorates it for each holiday/season. It's fun to drive by and see what she has on it. She does Valentine's, Easter, 4th of July, and even a back to school one since she used to be a teacher!
Food look's delicious 😋 happy new year's eve kelly and family which includes all 3 doggies I really enjoy your sharing with us God Bless 🌹 🌹 🌹 🌹 🦋 🦋 🦋 🦋
Hey Friend, Happy Monday/2024. I enjoyed this video and seeing some deep cleaning. I need to start deep cleaning my bedroom and bathroom soon ( I’m staying with my parents right now). ❤ I love seeing how much your subscribers truly love you and send you gifts that they know you will like/want. ❤ I’m excited to see your 2024 content and seeing what videos you upload. ❤🥰🦋🦋🦋
I think my mom are every type of greens there are. She would even go out at a certain time of year and get dandelion greens from the yard. I like spinach but that's it for greens. We would always have Sourkraut and pork with mashed potatoes and whatever else everyone else brought to my Aunt & Uncles house every year. They had the only house big enough for everyone in the family. Miss those days. We got crazy snow storms coming next few days. I'm not going anywhere. 🦋 Happy New Year!
Happy 2024, Kelly! 🥳🎊🎉 The new year was off to a fresh start. I watched your video on the 17th day of the year. I hope you had a happy MLK Jr. Day, which was 2 days ago. The last day of 2023 would've been my parents' 55th wedding anniversary, but my mama is still living. They got married in Virginia. I watched the movie called "New Year's Eve". For my last dinner of 2023, I had lasagna and buttery Texas toast. I watched the ABC specials called "New Year's Rockin' Eve" and "The Rose Parade". My excitement grew as I saw the ball dropping at Times Square to ring in the brand new year. The parade was in Pasadena, California. For my 1st dinner of 2024, I had chicken wings, canned corn, steamed cabbage and rolls. 🦋
This is great! I leave my slim tree in my den up all winter. I just remove the obvious Christmas ornaments since it's all metallic tones of gold and silver. Love some cozy vibes for my alone time at the beginning and end of each day🦋😊
I'm keeping my 2 reusable "16-ounce" Oxo condiment squeeze bottles that separately have ketchup and honey barbecue sauce. I wanna buy 4 "12-ounce" Pioneer Woman condiment squeeze bottles in the kitchenware section of Walmart Supercenter. At my home, I wanna separately fill up my 2 bottles with mustard and pancake syrup. I wanna play with my 2 other empty bottles. It would be nice for me to have a Lazy Susan so I could put my round condiment squeeze bottles on it. I like the round dish soap squeeze bottles by Great Value and Mrs. Meyers. I'm obsessed with the roundness.
My family’s tradition is cabbage roles. My husbands is grapes. When we lived in GA, I started their traditions of greens and black eyed peas…I love them all, so they’re all enjoyable foods. 😀
Kelly, I truly enjoyed this video today. I believe one should leave their Christmas tree 🎄 up for as long as you like. A suggestion might be if you have it up through Valentine's, you might hang red and pink hearts 💕 on it with possibly red and pink ribbons. I think this would look lovely. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year.
🦋🦋 I can't always comment because I'm cleaning while watching your videos and I only have a certain amount of time to do things around the house due to working full-time and other responsibilities, but I wanted you to know I am here and you are always super motivating 🦋🦋 thank you! ❤
Your dinner looked yummy. I had never heard of eating those foods that are suppose to represent. Fun notion. Sometimes when watching your videos I think of your Mom. Her house must be very quiet now and I wonder if she misses you terribly or is enjoying having her house to herself again. I had children come back and live with us and it's different when they move back out. Anyways thanks for sharing. Happy New Year.
Fun to see your traditional New Years food. I've never had greens or black eyed peas. My husband always wanted baked potatoes and baked beans, We had 6 boys so always passed down jeans and anything that was still in one piece . 😂 Hope 2024 brings so many blessings for your family. 🎉❤️
I don’t make resolutions but this year (really been working on it since October 1st) I am focused on health, losing weight and getting more exercise. I laughed at those greens. You could see them shrinking away in the pot. They all do that. Great video!!! 🦋
I LOVE the color of your floors! I probably forgot to tell you a couple weeks ago. I'm resetting my house tomorrow. My son got Covid 3 days before Christmas, but only had a couple of bad days. I had strange feelings all week but kept testing negative so, who knows!! I work from home so don't go out that much but he works outside of the home and people at his work have it. Ugg. Your tree is so pretty!! Love ya! 💙🦋💙
🦋 pork roast, black eyed peas, greens and cornbread is what I fix- i also look at it as tradition not luck or superstition!! Happy New Year to you and your family!!🦋
My families tradition was blackeyed peas, greens, pork roast. But I changed some things up, now I have fried fish, spaghetti and of course the blackeyed peas and cornbread. I wish you and your family a wonderful blessed New year 🦋
Kelly, l love your vlogs. I think you're so relatable because you don't have a mega mansion n cleaning it. You're one of us. You have to save n plan like us n l love your family.
My 2 sons & oldest son girlfriend have been spenting Christmas & New Year with my husband who in the hospital. He has been in the hospital the Fri before Christmas. He had to have surgery last Thurs. He going to rehab.
My mother-in-law always had black eyed peas, cabbage. She would leave a dime in the cabbage and if you got the dime you would have money. She also made corny cornbread. She's 93.
We do black eyed peas (luck), cabbage (prosperity), ham or some kinda pork (root forward not backward). We also don’t wash clothes on New Year’s Day (washing away someone dear 😢), don’t eat chicken (they scratch backward). 😂 it’s all just in tradition
I leave my tree up it goes straight to Mardi Head then Valentines well this year their back to back holidays 😂 then so on I always keep a tree decorate I also have a twinkle tree that stays up to nothing wrong with decorating it for each holiday.
Kelly, you are absolutely the sweetest young person, and I enjoy watching your channel. I always love seeing how you clean and make everything look like new! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the living room. You remind me of myself!!! ❤🦋🦋
We usually have noodles for long life and 12 different round fruits for luck on each month. Wearing polka dots for money 😂. I dont do all these but definitely takes me back to childhood whenever I see someone else do it. Happy New Year 🎉 🦋
We used to do the traditional foods but we broke from that and have done different things over the past couple of years. This year I'm making a quiche!
We took our Christmas decorations down, it does feel empty. But, wanted to get it over with before. New Year. But, I do like the winter decor as well 💙 ❄🤍🦋🦋🦋
🦋🦋🦋 I actually took down my Christmas decor while listening to your video. My New Years dinner is similar, the greens ( I prefer collards), black eyed peas, I'm adding ribs and possibly fish with coleslaw. The peas for luck, the greens for money.
I roast a pork loin with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and black eyed peas for dessert is a chocolate Bundt cake , all traditional foods, as you said, not sure I believe it but why change it! 🦋
Love your new home. You've done a great job with all the reno projects. I think moving your sectional is a great idea. Since the sofa will become a divider of sorts, and the room is really long, try the sofa table behind the sofa. I think there is room. That way you really have a defined entry. Just my two cents. Happy new year!!
Pork roast & kraut, black eyed peas, collards & cornbread. I cook mine on New Years Eve and we eat on it a couple days too. Continued Prayers for the boys Dad. Happy New Year!❤️🙏 🦋
Mustard greens are THE best!
This past week I deep cleaned my entire house and organized and decluttered every room I took several trips to our local thrift store to drop off my items. I couldn’t agree more about the great videos Kelly brings to us! Happy New Year to you and your family.
Kathleen Wagner if you live anywhere near an Indiana you can come to my house and do some cleaning!😀

Never heard of new years dinner but that’s a cool idea. Usually we just do something simple like appetizers lol 😂

This is a perfect day to post because I’m cleaning before New Year’s Day. I don’t clean on New Year’s Day because of the superstition around it 😅 🦋
Mind is the same as yours drinking more water and doing more reading and reading my Bible and exercising
Je suis une maman française de 5 enfants !!! Ta maison est sublime et un grand merci pour cette belle motivation !!!😂
🦋🦋🦋 HAPPY NEW YEAR.!!! ❤❤❤
I deep cleaned my entire house, decluttered, and undecorated ,I have a huge salvation army pile and there coming January 3rd, great video as always🦋
🦋🦋❤️❤️Great Job Kelly!!!❤️❤️🦋🦋
Kelly, I truly enjoyed this video today. I believe one should leave their Christmas tree 🎄 up for as long as you like. A suggestion might be if you have it up through Valentine's, you might hang red and pink hearts 💕 on it with possibly red and pink ribbons. I think this would look lovely. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year.
Kelly, I'm doing the same...I haven't wanted my Christmas decor to go away, so like you, I'm leaving it up just removing any red or green decor.
🦋🦋 I can't always comment because I'm cleaning while watching your videos and I only have a certain amount of time to do things around the house due to working full-time and other responsibilities, but I wanted you to know I am here and you are always super motivating 🦋🦋 thank you! ❤

Doctor it up! I love that! My dad would say soup it up! ❤❤❤ 🦋
My goal is definitely better food choices and meal prep in the new year🦋🦋. Happy New Year‼️
I don’t make resolutions but this year (really been working on it since October 1st) I am focused on health, losing weight and getting more exercise. I laughed at those greens. You could see them shrinking away in the pot. They all do that. Great video!!! 🦋
Thanks for a new video, I hope u and family have a healthy and Happy New Year 🦋❤️❤️
That dinner looks SO GOOD! I have a resolution to stop swearing & also drink mode water/use my treadmill or walk outside 🦋
Saurkraut and pork with mashed potatoes are the usual for New Years Day at our house.
Great video. Happy New Year! My New Year’s resolution is to read my bible more. 🦋❤️🦋
Really love the narration right throughout the video👍👏
🦋🦋I don't make resolutions because I know I won't keep them. Powe to the prop who can!
🦋🦋🦋🦋
I’ll be fixing a crockpot full of black eyed peas with ham and bacon, cooked cabbage, and cornbread.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Pork of some kind, black-eyed peas, greens, okra and tomatoes, cornbread. I'm in north Florida. 🦋
Your house is looking great! Can't wait to see your living room makeover. 🦋
🦋 pork roast, black eyed peas, greens and cornbread is what I fix- i also look at it as tradition not luck or superstition!! Happy New Year to you and your family!!🦋
We make Ruben sandwiches, Black Eyed Peas and cooked cabbage for New Year’s. I pray it’s a blessed year for you, Kelly!🩷🦋🩷

We do black eyed peas (luck), cabbage (prosperity), ham or some kinda pork (root forward not backward). We also don’t wash clothes on New Year’s Day (washing away someone dear 😢), don’t eat chicken (they scratch backward). 😂 it’s all just in tradition
I'm like you, focusing on my health. I'm overweight and on far too many medications. Happy New Year!🎉🦋
I leave my tree up it goes straight to Mardi Head then Valentines well this year their back to back holidays 😂 then so on I always keep a tree decorate I also have a twinkle tree that stays up to nothing wrong with decorating it for each holiday.
We usually have pork , sauerkraut, mashed potatoes/ sweet potatoes and sides and dessert
Happy New Year 🎉 🦋
I put my Christmas stuff up on yesterday and I
got my totes from Walmart . Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉🦋🦋🦋
I'm so glad you decided to post today 🥰 Happy New Year to you and your family Kelly - I hope everyone has an awesome 2024!!! 🦋
🦋🦋🦋🥰 Happy new year!! I love your new home!!! Many blessings to you and yours!!!!
We used to do the traditional foods but we broke from that and have done different things over the past couple of years. This year I'm making a quiche!
We took our Christmas decorations down, it does feel empty. But, wanted to get it over with before. New Year. But, I do like the winter decor as well 💙 ❄🤍🦋🦋🦋
I always make fried cabbage, black eyed peas, and cornbread with some kind of pork
I like all of the greens, but like you, mustard is my favorite.
Happy New Year!❤️🙏 🦋
Kelly, I keep my Chrismtas tree up all year, you are doing just fine ;)
