An idea for the L desk…when I had a bigger desk space, I loved having a kiddo who needed a little extra one on one school help sit with me so I could keep working but could also easily slide over to him when he needed help. Also good for a kiddo who is struggling with attention. Sometimes sitting with mama helped him stay on track. 😉
Don’t forget a regular (non digital) clock. It’s amazing how many high school grads cannot read a regular clock! I applaud you on the homeschool. My granddaughter and I had so much fun playing store with my bag of change. She bought items ALL over my house at my store within her budget and then she became the clerk and sold to me. So fun!

Classroom looks great. Two suggestions: 1) get a stuffed animal cover that holds stuffed animals and blankets, etc. 2) I have learned that storing markers upside down let’s the ink stay toward the top.
I like the L desk. Two options would be having different stations for yourself. One for editing one for school. Or if you have a kiddo that needs help they can come sit next to you.

If your babies have a lot of stuffed animals, they make beanbags that you can throw all those fluffies in and that is actually your bean bag chair. Another RUclipsr I watch, someone sent their daughters one and it was super neat! Works great for storage and for seating! Beautiful room! I love watching you! 🦋🦋🦋
Love it! That colour on the wall is stunning. What works well for a bean bag is purchasing the bag only and using it to store all their stuffies and blankets.

🦋 loved how the room came together and how you decorated it. My daughter will be homeschooling my grandson in the next school year. He will be in kindergarten. She's lucky that their house came with a large detached building that previous owners used as a shop, and that's what they use it for. It's large enough that she and her husband were able to create a small room for her to use as the classroom. So it will be totally separate from the house. Keep up all your good work in redoing your home. Think you could be an interior decorator.
🦋 turned out very nice!! Try turning your L shape desk so it’s not in the corner. Turn the front of the desk facing your new wall and your living room would be at your back. Then the L would be against the wall where your front of your desk is currently!
Great job creating a comfortable learning environment for your kids, while still keeping with the style of the rest of your house. A reading corner with beanbags would be great, you could even hang a little canopy over it and include a lap desk so your son can work there too. 🦋

Just a suggestion, use drywall tape on the seams after you mud. Then put additional coats of mud and sand smooth. This will help prevent cracking in the seams. Looks lovely.

I suggest you keep the L-Shape to the desk and make a space there for the oldest to work and be part of the class environment, also make him a teen section in a corner of the classroom as well so that he doesn’t have to go to his room to work and you can keep an eye on him while he’s working and that keeps him focused on his classroom work plus he can always be part of the class. As a Montessori Teacher our teens need that extra as well and to be a part of the group. Take Nature Walks with the kids and do Science Projects in the Community my kids always enjoyed those walks etc..

As one who works from home, the L would be a dream. I don't currently have the space, but find myself spreading papers across the drawers of my desk and on the floor. Or if Kane wanted to come out and join you, he could have a space to work! GREAT motivation! Great makeover! You really added warmth and 'family' to that room. 🦋
Instead of bean bag you could get a plastic kiddie pool and spray paint it a color that matches the room and a bunch of comfy pillows. I think you cold also fit a comfy chair in there if it’s cheaper . These days fb marketplace may offer something cute even a rocking comfy chair ❤looks adorable such a nice classroom

With their age differences I homeschooled 2 at a time up til the end of 5th/6th grade. I too had a globe, a huge world map on the wall, white board and a cash register too. It looks great! I’ve used this color in my primary bedroom & laundry space as well. I think you definitely should put the floating shelves above your desk. It’ll complete the space. Also, maybe putting your robo vac underneath the desk so it’s out of the way once you eventually move the home school cabinet into the space.

I had a designated place for our home schooling and it was the best thing I did because as my boys got older it also gave them a space to hang out. Now that they are grown and out of college they use the home school room to gather and play games when they come for a visit. Blessings to you!

When I move that is one of the things that I want. Is to have a dedicated office/ home school room. I want to make it cozy and practical. I have gone through soo many office chairs because of my weight and i arthritis everywhere. But I sit for hous on end because of school work and working from home. I'm gonna have to look into that chair. And that paint color is a beautiful color and it's probably one I'd want in so many rooms because it's comforting. 🦋

When I took the strips off my mobile home walls I filled them with joint compound without using drywall tape and two years later they cracked. Definitely recommend dry wall tape if you take the strips down somewhere else in your home.

I love the color of the wall and the alphabet rug. I use to love the bear series when I was a kid, too. Bean bags do cost so much!

Hey Kelly! I honestly don't think there is anything that you can't do! You have done an amazing job on your home! I love the homeschool room so much you did a great job! I love your L shape desk. I have always wanted one of those for the extra desk space. I think you should leave it for a little bit and see if it works out and if not then you could always take that part off. I love the idea of a homeschool room. We just started homeschool this month, but my oldest had been in virtual at home the last two years. the first half all three kiddos did virtual and then we made the plunge.

🦋 ….. keep the L shaped desk. I have one and it is that added workspace that is so appreciated. Love the room, you are amazing. I agree, raise the curtains so they don’t touch the floor, makes for easier cleaning.

I love how the room turns out❤👍 it would be nice to take down all the strips off the walls, because seeing how you do that board batten on the wall it look amazingly beautiful, even if you didn't use the board and batten the walls would look so much better without the strips❤

I am teaching 1st-5th grade now but am moving to kindergarten next year and this video just got me so excited to set up my classroom! It turned out so pretty 😍
When I took the strips off my mobile home walls I filled them with joint compound without using drywall tape and two years later they cracked. Definitely recommend dry wall tape if you take the strips down somewhere else in your home.
