I think it is cool. Not as bendable as the OP-Z so that’s a plus right there. No chance of me sitting on it after I leave it in my back pocket anymore.
I’m wondering about the Videolab and Photomatic stuff as well, not to mention the DMX lighting control. I’d be sad if it’s not included, but if the Z already does that, it can always be relegated to utility duty as a super compact DMX and video sequencer.
The Z had the video stuff as the “wow, wtf, amazing” feature… I’m curious if this will have these (or an) additional off the wall feature as time goes on. I really enjoyed the videopak stuff
teenage engineering provides pretty good fun and content rich updates for their devices. Over the years the op-1 classic had a good 10 years of nice fixes and neat fun features. Photomatic, Videolab, and DMX deserves a bunch of attention to get right to a high degree of quality. I am sure they will release some of these things, but it is possible some of them will be quiet a bit different or maybe even excluded do to a lack of use. What ever it is they will do just knowing the amount of effort they are willing to put into these things to make them extra is cool.
Aye appreciate the comment! They’ve supported my channel and content for a while which I appreciate! Always best to lead with no expectations - I will be getting one of these one way or another very soon so stay tuned! Means a lot for someone to say “I make some of the best TE content” so thanks 🙏🏾
Would I like to have this? Sure. But I have an op-1f, and the price of this thing just made me buy an op-z that’s already on sale, plus the discount I get. Got it for under $400 brand new.
I’m looking forward to discovering what key features / aspects of the Z still make it (very) relevant / better value even with the introduction of the xy. One right off the bat is the size. The form factor of the OP-Z is legendary
@@Khordmaster I was going to get a tula mic and the roland e4, but the z has 2 effects already on the mic, plus one on op, plus it’s an ultra portable sequencer. I would feel guilty buying the Op-xy.
People are saying that limitations are forcing creativity. OP-XY is so much limited (Ricky Tinez said it is good for challanges) so probably it should be considered as creativity-factory (especially with these fancy animations).
They do. I just removed all plugins and free packs from Ableton. Rocking with STOCK sounds and effects as I explore this behemoth of a software. Been enjoying!
You love the company and their products but can't afford one, so why not do what a lot of us do...save up. Put aside a little money every week until you've got enough. Maybe sell some other bits that you don't use anymore?
Actually I wouldn’t say I love the company. I really really like their products. That being said there’s some real value in the realization that I’ll have to purchase this time (even if it is discounted) as I’ll be able to speak to the “true value” as a regular consumer that I really couldn’t in a lot of my other TE gear reviews and content. So stay tuned!
There are absolutely shill, most of these dudes are. The one’s who got it already and are overly positive are 100% shills/not critical because they get free gear. However, he doesn’t have it. This dude just loves teenage engineering stuff. Fanboy, absolutely. Shill, not so much.
Im not buying it, but I can't stop watching these videos.
I feel you - let me know what ya think of mine!
This thing is definitely cool, and very intriguing. Just a shame it's basically inaccessible.
@@RetroPlus price wise?
@@Khordmaster Yes
Is there a desktop version available 😂
Surely there should be?! 🤣
Hello, if an audio input is connected, do the punch-in effects work in real time on that audio input? thank you
Couldn’t tell ya unfortunately 🤷🏾♂️
ok, very thanks

No chance or just a smaller chance? lol . Guess that depends on what kinda pants you’re wearing lol
@ mmm hadn’t thought of that. Unless it’s a real beast of a machine, you may have saved me $2299 US. Thanks, mate

Videolab can take in midi, so im sure thats a way to do it! :)

Worthless clickbait screenshot.
We got op-xy at home ruclips.net/video/h5UmPTttN1s/видео.html
Very lame, agreed. If you don’t have one yet don’t fake it.
@@tarekith this guy is the worst!
I’m considering it because it has the things I want from Elektron minus the sampling which I could do with P-6.
If you get one we can collaborate on some tracks with 🤔
The only thing I mad about is TE didn't give you one for free. You make some of the best TE content

im buy if this can chop samples like mpc, I have the mpc x se but I need a portable machine to produce.
Seems to be a lot of people who are curious about how this performs with sampling. I for one am extremely curious! Stay tuned!

Kinda sad I wasn't even pinged to at least beta test this one tbh
I just through up a demo
Lmao I read it as threw up 🤮 lol … I’ll check it out!

OP-F has its place... But I prefer the sequencer on the OP-XY... Can't wait for it to arrive
Jealous! Working on getting one my self! Stay tuned! Let us know how you’re enjoying yours when it arrives!
