- Quick review/rundown of my experience with the Spintend UBox 100V.
I received the controller free of charge, but I do not get any kickbacks.

Very informative video! Getting the Hall effect sensors to work was indeed very frustrating but once you get past that, this is a most satisfying project. Thank you for sharing. Float on!
How did you get them to register? I keep running motor setup and it keeps coming back as sensorless 🤔
I figured it out! Had wires in the wrong spot for the hall sensor connector 🤦♂️
Merry Christmas Dado!
Man- amazed me that people figure this stuff out
Awesome to get your thoughts on this VESC and to see that the build was successful!
Your video walkthroughs are becoming more complete, I like the see-through yellow highlight over the cursor to let us know what you're looking at. Happy holidays
Excellent Video once again!! I had similar IMU issues with my Ubox 100amp Pint conversion a few months ago but was easily fixed by a 7 dollar ext IMU from Amazon. Forgot about the 100 amp limit been using the standard 120amp setting.
Finally watched the video, love it! Ubox gang ftw! Are you gonna talk about foot sensors soon? 👀 👀
Is the Spintend box 100 a = option then buying a Little FoCer v3.1? Just ordered all my my VESC build parts but just need a ESC now, trying to find one. Im 230lb. so at the end of your video not sure
@surfdado great video! I have a question, I'm making my pint vesc. im using a vesc kit that uses this same ubox but im still using my stock battery and i ordered a 15s Nexus BMS V2. Before, I used the pint vnr kit using two 60 volt greenworks batteries. Can i still hook those external batteries to the vec pint to add range? I already have them on hand and I would like to avoid buying a new battery, so wanted to know if after I setting up the pint with the vesc basically stock because of the battery, I can just add those external batteries for the range in the same sort of vnr connection?
@@marckosmusicrc5808 should be no problem, the VESC controllers don’t care where they get their voltage from
Rad! Thanks for the thorough video!
A couple thoughts:
- the low speed motor noise sounds just like the stock Pint controller fwiw
- maybe I missed it, maybe I’m being silly, but what BMS are you using? Or are you running the bat directly into the UBox?
- what’s your opinion on the Trampa boards? I’m looking into reviving my dead Pint and have been trying to figure out whether I should go FOCer or UBox or Trampa Vesc 6 75V
this battery is BMS-less for now; opinion on Trampa boards? you mean Trampa VESCs? They seem to be top notch controllers, my 6-75 is excellent in my Pintx
@@surfdado oh right! Lol I forgot that your video on the Trampa VESC Pint X was where I first heard about the Trampa hardware 😄
That low speed motor noise sounds exactly like my stock XR when I'm just balancing it. So that's no biggie to me. I'm excited to put my Funwheel ST together.
Do you have a link to the 3d print files of your casing?

I was thinking of adding an Arduino Nano to the mix, so I can control my RGB Led strips. You guys think it's possible to use the same BT module to communicate with the phone?
My idea was to have parallel RX-TX cables going to the VESC and the Arduino. I think the protocols are different, are they not?
EDIT: Btw, Merry xmas y'all! ^^
Quick question when I activate quick stop it cut offs moving forward and works going reverse. Whats the setting call on the yaw to reverse position? Everything works fine if I shut it off
sorry I have no idea what you're talking about. How do you activate quick stop? If your speeds are negative then search "negative" on pev.dev
Great clean build Ubox 100 fits so well.
Glad it works well, I ordered one too. :D
Have you upgraded firmware to version 6?
soon
Any fixes for the Ubox noise at super slow speeds? Or is it just a Ubox thing?
it's just a ubox behavior due to inferior PCB design and component selection, nothing you can really do about it - but it's not really causing any other issues so you just need to learn to ignore it
Their site says its 75v (16s) rated, but did I hear you right that you were running a 20s pack with it?
There's a 75V version and a 100V version.
Do you have any info on how you did the pulldown concertos for the footpad?
pick any resistors between 1k-10kOhm and put one between GND and ADC1 and the other between GND and ADC2
Hi men, thx 4 all what you do, I have a little question, If I do the same box than you how can I connect the ennoid BMS if I have one ?
you will need to add additional connectors for the charge port and then also for CAN if you want to use that
@@surfdado merci beaucoup :) I'am a begginner, and I'am converting my board ! I just bougth the spintend, didn't received it yet but i'am preparing all what I will need, can u tell me pealse how much wires that takes to connect the can fro BMS to controler box, and wich ennoid bms will be better for me ? I was thinking to buy the V2 for 20S, like this I can connect my CBXR.
@@T4t4N-M4k4k_StokedMonkey afaik the ennoid needs 4 wires for CAN, but I think it's really tricky so make sure you check with Kevin before finalizing your wiring
Grazie Dado 🇮🇹 I buy the same board 🤙🏾
Besides price is there any reason to get the Ubox over the little FOCer?
you have 5v and 12v so you can run lights easily. but you have way less total amp. i think it really depends on what you want to build
if lights are important to you the 3A 12V output is really convenient
🤙🏼
Dado has Dalmatians too whaaaat 🤯
