Newcomers to track days quickly realize that brakes and tires matter immensely. My first track day with my Evo X was severely limited by having high performance street tires. Racing slicks make a world of difference, and having race pads that won't fade during a 20 minute session are a must as well.

And not just the quarter mile It looks like a lot of fun and I hope you definitely do more track days because this is exactly what I want to do to my Evo, I can see so many mods that can be done on the Evo x sway bars, Arrow, Bushings, Improving the master cylinder to an Evo 9 conversion A must for any Evo X ,Bigger Floating rotors, Air ducks to the brakes Or Even as simple as a OEM Map performance Mitsubishi brake cooling air guides , Steel brake lines, To dare I say wide body varis kit, With liberty function fenders? Roll cage, Anything that would make the car lighter Would be a plus.. Sky's the limit on an Evolution . My buddies and I All have Evo's And we love to go on Canyon runs But there's always Room to learn more From this awesome platform, My buddies And I are all having fun watching your build and learning thank you for the videos Definitely something that I haven't seen before on RUclips can't wait for the next one Charlie Keep up the good work.
I would love to see time attack stuff and would Love to learn more with you all cuz I have never done anything like that but I plan on building my wrx for time attack and road courses in general
Dude, brakes are more important than mods, always new high temp pads at least 800 and vent discs every year for track cars. Bleed brakes with new high temp fluid 600 every year. This is all low cost stuff.
Sub @driver61 , get into some go karts. Evo will mask a lot of mistakes. So will sticky and wider tires. Always have two hands on the wheel unless shifting. Look ahead of the car. Most importantly have fun and keep the shiny side up.

what brakes were you using? You have mentioned multiple times the brakes were insufficient, yet never let us know what brakes they were.
