Maintaining Campervan Toilet Cassette - Хобби
Sam….you saved my wife…it was driving her potty and now it’s fixed…thank you 😊
😁👍 dirty deeds done dirt cheap 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the maintenance information, I need to do it...
I have a quick question, How do you keep dust out of your van ????
We don't mate just keep cleaning if off
Hi Sam
We have exactly the same toilet and cartridge which we fitted in 2018 and had the same problem once the initial manufacturer lubricant wore off. To fix it we removed the whole locking mechanism which is dead easy and do it to clean out the holding tank each time as gives you a much wider opening. If you remove the cassette, pull out the silver handle and leave the green slider in the closed position then rotate the whole slider mechanism anti-clockwise 30 degrees to the base it then separates like a bayonet light bulb and you can get to the underside to clean n grease up the whole mechanism. We use Xavax OKS1110 silicone grease in a tube. As long as you don’t use Vaseline should be ok as believe this swells the o rings over time making the movement tighter.
Surprised you haven’t fitted a SOG kit on yours Sam going out through the floor. I know you like a gadget or two lol. We fitted one last year straight forward enough and haven’t looked back. No chemicals, no smells and you can empty the cartridge anywhere without contaminating anyone’s septic tanks. Let you do a You Tube video installing one.
I'm not sure if you can fit a SOG on an internal door?
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife No you can’t that’s why you need the through floor kit like mine
Hi Sam I know your brother really well was always fixing my cars would love to see your van for ideas just starting one and been looking at all your vids
We are away this weekend but your more than welcome to come and look around tge van one night next week 😁👍
That would be great very much appreciate it pal let me know time and what night
Nice jobby Sam...(pun intended) I'll use that tip for the fabric softener in my poo palace (nicked frm Gadget John) at our Crafty Camper campout in a fortnight. Bessy regs- Kenny
😂👍
WD do a silicone spray and it’s spot on for stuff like this, as it gets in all the nook and crannies 👍🏻
Hi pal good to see you at van life eats, just had a call from friend saying SV TECH who are in charge of up plating the vans only up plate to max of 4050kg , the front axle stays at 1650kg even if u up grade 5 ton front leaf spring and 5 ton shocks,?? I’m confused?? What is your new weight plate pal ??
My weight is 4230kg. Your friend is right
SV tech will only up plate to 4050kg as they use a modle basically they converted one van once and use that as their benchmark,
If you contact Dee at van weight engineering, he can up plate your van to the same as mine as they judge each van on its own merits eg correct rated wheels, tyers and suspension for the additional weight
However the front spring needs to be A906 321 18 03 as the A906 321 11 03 has been down rated to 3.5t due to obsolescence hope this clears things up mate
We came back to see you on the Saturday but you had gone, hopefully catch up soon somewhere 😁🍻
So, let's get the obvious cracks out of the way: "What a shitty job." "What's in Captain Kirk's toilet? - Captain's log." Enough already. 🤦♂
As you know, my potty has no moving parts, does not need water and is really simple to desinfect and keep clean. Is there a seperating toilet in your future? 😁
But - as always - very nicely explained, filmed and another proper fix for those with the same or similar units. 👍
Hugs to you, Lisa and Riley and stay safe! 🚐☁🍀
P.S.: Wash them hands.
P.S.S.: @Lisa: Don't let him touch you, until he does. 😂
All washed up mate no more 💩🤲
What a load of crap 😂😂😂 good job Sam 👍🏻
Totally agree
Mine sits just the same Sam, seal slightly forward
Cheers pal
On another note - my sliding door is not sliding like it was - harder to push, any ideas? (No puns intended 😊)
Have you greased the rollers
Using grease will be the cause of your problems straight away.
Wurth silicone spray is the best thing to use.
I don't understand why? it came greased from the manufacturer we used what they use
To be honest I’ve never seen a toilet cassette greased.
If you clean all the grease off and then treat the moving parts and the rubber seal with silicone spray you’ll see a massive difference.
I spray the seal sort of every other empty.
Sticky flaps need sorting!
Always 🤣🤣🤣
That's a s**t job mate! 😂
Proper jobie
Jobbie done 😂😂😂
on to job number 2 😂😂👍
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife 🤣
Just burn it and get a new one every trip 👍
