Ahhhh can we all stop for a sec and give Monica a massive prop for the music selection and amazing cinematography on every video? I understand her choice being behind the camera but definitely can't make this channel as amazing without her! All the best and enjoy the heat you two!! Much love..
P.Smith: I'm a Brit. who comes to Bali every year, usually for two months, this time still here after three! During Covid due to no flights in or out, I got stuck here, for 5 months. Lucky me! I love Bali, but most of all, I love the Balanese, always friendly, ready to say "hello" with a big happy smile. Freddie's video was beautifully filmed. He did a really good job. There's a place for all types of people on Bali. Canggu is an 'in' place for the 18 to 30s; Nusa Dua has by far the best beach on the island. It has fabulous hotels & some lovely houses to rent at a similar price to Freddie & Monika's one room! In my opinion it's the best place for families, older people & those who enjoy something a bit quieter. Ubud is the place for those who want culture & art & for those that like living in spectacular forrest/jungle areas, the top of the island is great, the best tiered Paddy fields are around the Tabanan region. Kuta is a busy, noisy town, best for those who like hectic, party nightlife. Freddie is 100% correct regarding the Honda Scoopy. I'm a great fan & use one regularly, they're terrific. (pillion seats a bit hard though.). I have seen police stop riders for not wearing helmets, so be warned! Due to incredibly heavy traffic, the fumes can be bad, but electric scooters are now being seen on the roads. Well done Freddie & Monika!
Great video- the scooter presence there is on a whole other level. I was impressed with the guy lugging a ladder on one then 2 seconds later some other dude beats that with his dog chilling on the deck as it zips past you guys. 😂 Crazy!
I love Bali, i have been there twice and also rented a Motorbike. You mentioned the International Drivers Licence in your last Video, it is not that useless. There was Police at the side of the road in Bali and they pulled us over. When i got my international Drivers licence out, they immediatly said we should move on, without even taking a look at it.
Reminds me to my teenager days spending the summer with my grandparents at their village. I was riding locally around the village in a 50cc mopped, no helmet, shorts and flip flops. And those are my best memories, pure freedom, no stress no responsibilities. Sometimes you have compromise safety a bit in order to enjoy life! And that’s fine mate 👍🏻 Also at 11:46, that’s a very interesting name for a shop isn’t it 😂 cheers Freddie & Monika
You're absolutely right about the motorbike being the only way to get around there. I was lucky enough to be over there over the Christmas period and because we were in a larger group we had to get round in taxi. The waits in traffic was agony, crawling along and watching the bikes whizz by - darting in and out of traffic and footpaths! Had to cut travel time by 4x at least! What a place! Loving the videos Freddie and Monika
So true about the Aussies and mullets and mustaches! Hahah live it and yeah, Bali is super close and couldn't agree more, it is amazing people and food! Thanks for the trip cheers!
Fond memories of Bali about 20 years ago and thought the roads were busy then but it looks insane now. The nearby island of Lombok is well worth a look.

Funny watching this Petitenget to Canggu ride. I've done it more times than I care to remember ;) I live in Bali full time now. Traffic has peaked, and despite it all it's still a great place to live.
Oh my! I was in Bali for 2 weeks over Christmas and NYE and this makes me miss how amazing this place is! I stayed between Ubud and Amed so didn't check out the busier areas of the south. Also got badly injured while riding a bike so had to get stiches and doctors to visit me every 2 days. Flew back to Singapore to have scans etc after my time in Bali was over but I still had an absolutely amazing time! Enjoy!
Wow the 2 wheeled culture looks fantastic although crazy manic too, Bali looks a really interesting place and a little jealous of the warm sunshine whilst the UK is wet cold and miserable at the moment. Cheers Freddie and Monica

Coming from HK, I would definitely say it's like our version of Spain as a holiday destination along with Thailand. Bali is such a beautiful Island, look forward to seeing what you guys get up to!

Great video as always and brought a smile to my face on a hideous cold wet March evening in UK seeing the sun in Bali. One quick question - if you had to choose between Tenerife & Bali for a month away from the UK winter where do you go?
South East Asian rider here. You may want to consider switching to a "maxi-scooter" such as those NMAX you saw or the Honda PCX160, for an upgrade in roominess, plusher suspension and more grunt for 2 up riding.
My woman has a Scoopy. Surprisingly nippy. Cost: 1100 GBP new in Thailand. I have a Yamaha Aerox 155 as my everyday transport. Same engine as the N-Max. I wear a light mesh jacket, mesh gloves and mesh boots. Roof Boxer V8 helmet. 900 GBP per month sounds a lot for the digs. We've got a banana tree in our garden. Didn't half grow fast. Expensive coffee. Great coffee for a quid here. It all sounds rather expensive compared to Thailand. For example, Saturday night we had three big dishes between us, a still water and a fizzy water in an upmarket restaurant for 11 GBP. We are right up north, though.
You guys have the best channel and podcast bar none. You make it look easy and that’s down to Freddie’s personality and Monica’s fantastic editing skills. Keep doing what you’re doing. Btw would love to see Freddie with a mullet and a moustache 🤣
crickey this makes us miss bali, bring s back some wonderful memories especially Lembongan, are you heading over. do remember the traffic being just as hectic especially Ubud but who gives a Scooby when your on a Honda 😁. enjoy to the max and interesting about entry requirements and for us especially. love the vid and Monikas choice of transport. hope to see a vid soon of her riding through the rice fields 😍😁. would be interesting to see the cost comparison of large capacity bikes as I remember that was horrifyingly expensive. think a triumph 1200 scrambler for example was something like €30,000
Another great vlog freddie and monika i must say those scooter journeys frightened me to death only an experienced rider could cope with that, And well done for 80k subs.
The funny thing is, I bet almost all of the people in the touristy area have no formal bike training. It’s a madness that somehow works. Very aggressive, but never ride, with no anger at all. I haven’t seen any crashes… so far! Thank you so much for being kind enough to follow the channel- it’s hugely appreciated!🙂
I am travelling now in Malaysia and Thailand, this time I even brought my own full face helmet bc I was planning to rent some serious bikes. I also got gloves and a revit motorbike jacket. But honestly, I am pretty much the only one wearing that kind of gear. I remember back in the 90s first time riding a scooter in Koh Samui I did not even used a helmed. Thank god nothing ever happened 😊🎉
Excellent Sunday morning vlog as ever from you both. Seeing this video Bali isn't what I expected it to be, 40% down on normal tourist numbers and it's just so busy with the roads crammed with scooter riders, great experience though for sure. If there's one thing that irritates me is when I read or hear about any incident on our news is when they describe scooters as mopeds, grrrr, mopeds were partially powered by pedals, yes I know terms have moved on and I suppose the younger generation simply don't know the origin of the term moped. Anyway I digress, apartment looks great and I like Monika's choice of helmet and Freddie don't feel too guilty about the scooter in your last vlog, time is a great healer. Ha! Ha! Ride safe.
Thanks Lee🙂 It must be a generational thing because I think most people under 40 would have no idea of the origin of the word “moped”😳 My classmates cool enough to get a 50 or 125cc scooter at 16/17 would all call them mopeds (“peds” for short). I had no idea what a moped was until a week ago. I realise that this is a bit ridiculous of me
It looks like a beautiful place and not spoilt by silly local government, loved the bike traffic jam 😂It's one of those places where it works, people just get on with life and I guess it's the closest to real freedom you can get these days. Great video, looking forward to seeing more and maybe learning a bit of history too 👍
There really do seem to be almost no rules for the road. The key is that everyone’s incredibly assertive, but never rude or aggressive, so it does, weirdly, work🙂
Welcome to Indonesia Freddie and Monika, I hope you guys enjoy all the traveling experience we can offer here. Please always wears helmet and the standard legal license plate, since now a lot of tourist not wearing helmet, didn’t have valid driving license and using illegal custom license plate (mostly Russian one). Be Safe and Have Fun.
Good job all the scooters are no longer 2 strokes otherwise you wouldn’t see 2 feet in front of you! Looks great and a damn sight better than the numbing cold back here in the UK
Freddie, I'm from Portugal but moved to the Netherlands some 15 years ago. I remember Dutch bikers commenting on the Portuguese riding, in Portugal, with t-shirt only: "they are crazy", etc. 15 years later and with global warming going full speed ahead, summers here are significantly hotter than back then. Guess what? Dutch people riding with t-shirt only _everywhere_ around here now! Haters gonna hate...
One of my motorcycles is a 2004 reg 125 cc Honda Innova 9-3 HP auto clutch 4 speed step thru cub type motorcycle . Also known as Honda waves ,in the far east built in Thailand . I have never had a Honda or Suzuki machine break down on me in around 50 years of motorcycling . The small step thru motorcycles & twist & rip scooters are ideal , for nipping about tropical resorts & small islands in casual summer attire at relaxed speeds ,it’s no more risky than somebody in Lycra riding a push bike . When in Rome do as the locals do 👍
Hello from Ubud, Freddie! Brake’s is rubbish on those small scooters below Nmax or PCX. Biggest drawback for scoopy or vario. Just bought new Kawasaki KLX 250 Supermoto here on the island, roads here so windy and traffic is so chaotic you have to constantly shifting up and down like crazy. Hard work :)
Wow, please could you do a chummy interview with a mulleted Australian. You have the wit and diplomacy to find the cultural heritage contained in….. ‘Happy Hour’. What a diverse channel you two present! Just think back to the Cornish episode with the gunpowder industry reverted back to nature. Great stuff!
I will try my best to do just this!😆 Ahhh I loved the gunpowder trip- it seems so long ago now. The Dax would be brilliant in Bali👌🏻 Thanks you, Richard
Like most Balinese, I used to have scooter before I decided to buy my first manual motorcycle ever and that is because I watched your mutt motorcycle video. Now you're here and review a scoopy. 😆😆 Enjoy Bali man! If I may, I would like to suggest glamping in chiller area like Bedugul (by the lake)
Just beautiful. Looking at getting out to Bali when able. Absolutely love the rules of the road there (and India from my experience)....there aren't any! I'm with you on the safety gear except I'd dump the helmet!
Freddie if you think Bali is great now you should have seen it in the 1980’s! I would carry my surfboard with a strap over my shoulder on by Moto. Only wore a helmet but a visit to Denpasar hospital is interesting!
The Mullets and mustaches are really going crazy in the US as well. I don't think they ever go out of style in Canada. A few weeks back we were out near the Naval air base and the number of young men with mustaches was astounding. I immediately shaved my beard and kept my mustache and drove my wife crazy for almost 2 weeks.😆
Love the apartment two months there you lucky things. Bikes everywhere love it. The roads are chaotic in places but better road quality then our roads in the U.K.

Looks a lovely place, nice and relaxed. Well worth a visit. Never seen so many scooters, Triumph should try and break into that market. Cheers.☺️
crickey this makes us miss bali, bring s back some wonderful memories especially Lembongan, are you heading over. do remember the traffic being just as hectic especially Ubud but who gives a Scooby when your on a Honda 😁. enjoy to the max and interesting about entry requirements and for us especially. love the vid and Monikas choice of transport. hope to see a vid soon of her riding through the rice fields 😍😁. would be interesting to see the cost comparison of large capacity bikes as I remember that was horrifyingly expensive. think a triumph 1200 scrambler for example was something like €30,000
Ok I’m curious- I’m definitely visiting a Triumph dealer!
Lembongan- 100% of course!😃❤️🏝️
@@FreddieDobbs a dealer for sure in Ubud, its where i passed out🙃
Another great vlog freddie and monika i must say those scooter journeys frightened me to death only an experienced rider could cope with that, And well done for 80k subs.
Agreed. Most of those scooter riders look like tourists. I'm pretty sure few of them are experienced riders
Very interesting to hear your thoughts. Have an incredible time on your travels🙂🤜🏼🤛🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Ha! Ha!
Ride safe.
Thanks Lee🙂
It must be a generational thing because I think most people under 40 would have no idea of the origin of the word “moped”😳
My classmates cool enough to get a 50 or 125cc scooter at 16/17 would all call them mopeds (“peds” for short).
I had no idea what a moped was until a week ago. I realise that this is a bit ridiculous of me
I'd hate that type of motorcycling, stressfull! but did you spot the passenger riding side saddle? LOL! great video guys
Haha Freddie.. i too rode a scoopy when I was there.. very good for the terrains
It’s brilliant isn’t it! Smooth as silk❤️🛵
Morning from the UK. Have fun you two 😀
Hello Jonathan and thank you! Have a good’n🙂
Omg that looks so amazing and love the bike
I’ll show this approval to Monika- thank you🙂🛵
Good job all the scooters are no longer 2 strokes otherwise you wouldn’t see 2 feet in front of you! Looks great and a damn sight better than the numbing cold back here in the UK
When I do ride behind a 2stroke, it is seriously unpleasant😆🤢
Great video guys. Long way from your Falmouth trip. Never seen so many maniac riders. Must be where Deliveroo train lol. Stay safe x
Blimey there’s traffic and there’s traffic ! Keep safe folks.
It’s crazy!
Very interesting, this is a fantastic insight, thank you🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Fully jabbed ,,,,,,,,,,,oh Freddie 🤦♂️
@@bryangreen9672 But at least he explained that they weren't checking, and he wasn't talking down to us.
@@radicalcartoons2766 I like Freddie, but what he put into his body may come back to bite him severely, I hope it doesn’t
When in Rome do as the locals do 👍
Fantastic vlogg as always :) When it comes to safety gear I ask myself would I rather sweat or bleed . No matter the temprature.
Very good to hear your thoughts on it, thank you🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻
Riding your scooter in Bali looks a bit like being in the middle of a game of Mario Carts, happy days I think. Take care and look fwd to the next one.
I can imagine this- an auto is much simpler in the busy areas🙂👌🏻
Thanks for the brakes heads up- I’m tempted by the Nmax!
I will try my best to do just this!😆
Ahhh I loved the gunpowder trip- it seems so long ago now. The Dax would be brilliant in Bali👌🏻
Thanks you, Richard
Like most Balinese, I used to have scooter before I decided to buy my first manual motorcycle ever and that is because I watched your mutt motorcycle video. Now you're here and review a scoopy. 😆😆 Enjoy Bali man! If I may, I would like to suggest glamping in chiller area like Bedugul (by the lake)
Enjoy Bali!
Just beautiful. Looking at getting out to Bali when able. Absolutely love the rules of the road there (and India from my experience)....there aren't any! I'm with you on the safety gear except I'd dump the helmet!
I think we’ll be heading to some islands soon where helmets aren’t even an option😆
Given the conditions, I’m not sure if protective gear is necessary, or just silly. I would probably go without.
Love the apartment two months there you lucky things. Bikes everywhere love it. The roads are chaotic in places but better road quality then our roads in the U.K.
