    Seat the CPU before taking off the ILM to prevent a potentially expensive accident.

      @@Mannyocrity You should probably add a note to the video, NOT to remove the CPU from the socket while doing this. If somebody is a little jittery removing that ILM and drop it in the socket you will absolutely damage the pins in the socket. Far Far Far less risk of boning your motherboard if you just leave the CPU in place. My butt cheeks were clenching when you were removing the ILM.

    This is the best tutorial on the installation of the thermalright contact frame I've seen and I've watched at least a dozen of them now. Your video and GN's video are the only ones that go into detail about the tightening the screws, yours even more so than GN's in that regard. All the other one's, even thermaltakes own tutorial, basically just say "Tighten the screws until they're tight 😄👍". Anyway, all that to say, thanks for the great video lol.

      12th gen is 1700. 1700 is the socket. Since 12th and 13th gen are the same socket, they changed the label to 1700. The ones with 12th gen were just manufactured before 13th came out. They are the same.

    • @Mannyocrity
      @Mannyocrity  26 дней назад

      I am backing off the screw, so just turning it the wrong way. e.g. not tightening it. This is just to get it to seat correct, so it threads properly. The click is the screw popping up a little bit in the hole. I am not holding anything behind it to make the noise. My hand is on the bottom side holding the back of the bracket up, but that is it.

    Threat one screw full and count how many full turns before you start feeling tension. Subtract a half turn from that number and thread every screw to that number. Then you can start doing your quarter turns for each screw. Much faster with the same results.
