I'm a millennial without kids, so I'm clueless about this: Do you know if they are teaching school-age kids and teens about social media and media literacy? Because I think that doing this would really help our country. If they aren't, then they should be! And it needs to start way before high school or college.

And the truly astounding part is that the people who scream the loudest about the economy are the same ones who keep voting for Republicans, the party most responsible for concentrating more and more of the wealth in fewer and fewer hands.
When the govt adds two trillion in deficits every year, the economy cant keep up with inflation and other fall outs from that kind of overspending. We are worse off from having these last two Presidents, period.
To be fair, "the economy" can be an ambiguous term. GDP can be going up, unemployment can be down, while wages stay stagnant and prices keep soaring. In other words "the economy" can be doing great, while you personally might experience more economic hardship. These polls might speak more to the unequal distribution of wealth in America.
But the market is up, GDP is up, and unemployment is down. The indicators are in lock step.
You may be struggling, but you are not the economy...

An additional problem is that even if the economy as a whole is doing better that just means the wealthy are doing better. And the idea that if the wealthy do better everyone does better is called "trickledown economics".
I actually did a Gallop poll a few days ago and thankfully DID know that the economy is improving, though wealth inequality is still a major problem.

The stock market is not an accurate reflection of the condition of the vast majority of Americans. Unemployment is down because more people than every need to work multiple jobs just to stay afloat, and people feel like we're in a recession because we have to pay eight dollars for a burger but nobody's getting raises except corporate.

i finally realized why Josh Johnson sounds so familiar to me. He did (does?) the "Hold Up" podcast with Dulcé Sloan. I would listen to it on my Google Home sometimes. That had been bugging me, not remembering where I had heard his voice before.
What happened to that, I loved hold up.
About the economy, the average American doesn't have a grasp on the stock market, so even if the stock market is doing amazing, as long as Americans feel like they are financially doing poorly, they'll assume the economy is doing just as bad. If Biden focuses on the stock market doing well in this environment, I think that it might just backfire instead.
The stock market shouldn't be the economic measuring stick. Public 401ks do well but private equity controls markets and prices.
You have to educate yourself on the stock market to understand it. Not what most trump fans care to do. Heck, I know 40 yr olds that don't invest in stocks. They will be working for the rest of their lives.
It’s not just the stock market, it’s every economic indicator shows we’re better off today than under Trump. Unemployment has gone down. Inflation has gone down and we’re handling it better than other OECD countries. Wages are going up and starting to match prices. But facts can’t change feelings.
