I’ve been using Mi Airpurifier 2S from more than 3 years now, and that too in all 4 rooms of my house. Idk if this works legitimately well, but at least the AQI level it shows after running for a while gets below 20 indoors.
One of the major point is that all air purifiers are top dischargers. Means they have a fan, which throws air upward. But Dyson has a forward discharge. The problem with top dischargers is that dust settles down on the fan, when purifier is switched off, and when switched on, it throws up the same dust in the air, causing up more pollution initially. Dyson has a different mechanism, thats why this problem doesn't occur with it.
I have worked in Air purifier field and guarantee you Dyson models sucks, they are more of a fan than an air purifier, they have much smaller filter and maximum 3 stage. For that money get LG/Panasonic/Blue air models and they are much better with many stages of filters. And your point on top discharge does not make any difference if at all.
This is a fact after using sharp mi air purifiers I finally went with dyson, all air purifiers are top air throwers and eventually it's impossible to clean the fan, so after a year or so technically we are getting the dirt exhausted in the room itself from the dirty fan, dyson did think about this problem hence none of its air purifiers are upward air throwing

I have the same question. Then another product will come to increase our immunity as then we will start getting sick each time we step out from our clean indoor air to toxic outdoor air!
I don't think air filters are related to immunity. Non filtered water has many disease-causing germs, so filtered water will definitely reduce your immunity, but air pollution is mostly PM 2.5 which affects lungs and other body parts, it's not related to germs or immune system
Even if you install air purifier in all the rooms, you will still outside your home for all other activities. So you won’t get habitual for that. Also, as you mentioned about immunity. Lets taks this example- one person is consuminh alcohol daily, and other person is consuming it on weekly basis. Yes, it will effect immunity of both the persons but the one who is consuming on weekly basis will have better immunity than the first person. Coming to your point, it will boost the immunity if we use air purifier at home because atleast for few hours, we will be able to provide our lungs a cleaner air and hence it will help the body to work under less stress.
immunity is different from air quality, your immunity to germs for example can improve but a damaged lung can never improve, the lung is only created to breathe clean air and it cannot develop immunity for poor quality air. Otherwise you would see people developing immunity to smoking.
Thanks for the video. But you haven't covered a few more leading brands. For example Atlanta Bealthcare air purifier is very good and has negative ion tech too. Plus it has 4/5 layers of filters
Air purifiers usually consist of a filter, or multiple filters, and a fan that sucks in and circulates air. As air moves through the filter, pollutants and particles are captured, and the clean air is pushed back out into the living space. Typically, filters are made of paper, fiber (often fiberglass) or mesh, and they require regular replacement to maintain efficiency.

Now they are using different filters for different models and we have no assurance that how long will they provide the filters for new models. They might just stop selling them in a year or two.
agree. xiaomi product is cheaper. but the problem come later after few years (1 year if unlucky), original accessories is hard to get or no more being produced. For accessories like brush, mop or cartridge replacement for vacumm mop is OK to use alternative 3rd party, but filter for vacumm and especially air purifier, no guarantee if the HEPA or carbon filter really works if using 3rd party. lesson learnt, if i still buy mi product, i will stockpile the original filter for the next 3-4 replacement especially if it is one year old.
What about CO2 level? If the room is closed and air purifier is running with 2 persons in the room, the amount of CO2 in the air will increase. To resolve that i think an ERV system will workout by pulling fresh air from outside and filtering it.

Just discovered that Mi has a no repair policy for air purifiers. So if it's busy out of warranty they recommend you trash it and get a new one. Even within warranty they just replace. Long live the land fill
Coway airmega 150 mentions on the website that filter life is 8500hrs , i.e., 2 years if used for 12 hrs every day. So ~ 4500 for 2 years. Xaomi mi 4 lite mentions to change filters every 6 to 12 months. I guess in Delhi it would be closer to 6 months. So at least ~ 2500 / years Coway filters seem cheaper.
I work at clean room set up and experienced in lab air quality. In my observation none of the air purifier works and in video you can see the room has to be closed to bring the effectiveness of a purifier, which is not possible at home. If you have money to spend then install HVAC with ULPA filters (HEPA is ancient now) then only you can havepurified air. Do go behind the fancy thing be practical
Summary from Gemini: The creators of the video bought four different air purifiers and tested them to see how well they worked. They found that the best air purifier was the Co Air Purifier, which was also the most expensive. They also found that the Dyson air purifier was the worst. The creators of the video recommend that people spend at least 10,000 rupees on an air purifier
This is a very helpful video.I had to buy an air purifier for my parents back in NCR and now am clear what features I need to focus on. Although, I am using a dyson myself but too late to give an after thought. 😅 Thanks again- really helpful!
I got the air purifier but I was in ground floor and my elected netas of MCD didn't do storm drain cleaning properly. So, one night it rained, and my hepa and carbon filter got 15% soaked in dirty water. I did tape that area and put sanitizer there. But even phillips didn't repair it. So I permanently sealed and taped that region off and it works fine. I am now looking for a new but cheaper Carbon and HEPA (phillips 1215), any suggestions ?
They all work on the same technology -a blower and a HEPA filter. So the results should not have been so radically different. A few points here and there but a range difference of 92 to 57? Kuch hazam nahin hua!!
I recommend Atmosphere Mini for my clients which has Hepa Grade between A and U. Its a one-time investment but people can keep replacing their filters. Thats pretty next level quality.
Please also measure the O3 levels in the air. Some people have hypothesised that the laser sensor the mi purifier can produce ozone which is extremely harmful to breathe

Over the 4 lite if you go for mi purifier 4 you will get a little larger area coverage and negative air ionisation, which basically removes bad smell. If these things matter a lot then upgrade otherwise save your money
Bought Mi air purifier v4 lite. When i started the machine, the AQI as shown in their readings was 60. After 20 min. AQI went to 30, then after another 15-20 min. the AQI levels went all the way to 80. So basically their readings don’t work. If you buy a separate AQI monitor, only the monitor, it costs minimum 5k. These guys are selling whole air purifier along with filter and also the AQI monitor, for under 10k. So you can imagine the quality and accuracy of the readings. It’s going to remain poor. But obviously it does have a filter and it does have those inverted exhaust fan so I presume that the machine is still filtering the air despite the readings on it stating otherwise.

Consumer teports like conway, but it is not rated by the us to be mechanical or electronic - meaning it might have ozone. Many air purifiers have an ozone cleaning system in it and they don't tell you about it. Blue air is fantastic and it has a electrostatic ozone treatment. They do say that it It is considered safe because the amount is so small.
Electrostatic will generate ozone. while you may not feel any difference immediately in your health, prolonged exposure of ozone is harmful, especially to children and elderly. That's one of the reason why ESP/Ozone are more or less banned in USA unless you show compliance to UL867!
the device you are using monitors AQI while the display on the air purifiers displays PM 2.5 levels. that's the reason for the difference in the readings.
Hey, the device measures both AQI and PM2.5. Since, PM 2.5 purification is difficult, all the data and readings are of PM 2.5. We don't test air purifiers for AQI.
Excellent report. I have the mi and coway for the last 3 years and they get the job done. Right now aqi outside is 550 and inside my room it is 45. Also mi cylindrical filter is easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner. My preference is mi.
3:27 you mentioned that the air purifiers themselves were wrong about the actual level of PM 2.5 in your test area. 6:44 You showed the results as displayed by the same faulty air purifiers. Why not show the results from your device shown at 0:22 ?

• improving public transport (metro railways are better option) and waste collection, and ensuring that people have access to clean fuel for cooking and heating
How is filtered air AQI affected for eg. 2-3 months down the line, when the filter has been used around 60-70%?
?
Good water filters would be a great video idea
This is such an entertainingly informative video! Kudos team techwiser!
Excellent comparison. Thank you so much. I’ll go with your suggestions.😊
So at least ~ 2500 / years
Coway filters seem cheaper.
Watching this with air quality of 11 from assam 😂
Same also from Assam 😂.
I am coming 😂😂

06:57.. I really ROFL on hearing the BGM when you are talking about DYSON..😂😂😂
Glad someone made this video
I work at clean room set up and experienced in lab air quality. In my observation none of the air purifier works and in video you can see the room has to be closed to bring the effectiveness of a purifier, which is not possible at home. If you have money to spend then install HVAC with ULPA filters (HEPA is ancient now) then only you can havepurified air. Do go behind the fancy thing be practical
Summary from Gemini:
The creators of the video bought four different air purifiers and tested them to see how well they worked.
Now this is something new apart from mobile device
I got the air purifier but I was in ground floor and my elected netas of MCD didn't do storm drain cleaning properly. So, one night it rained, and my hepa and carbon filter got 15% soaked in dirty water. I did tape that area and put sanitizer there. But even phillips didn't repair it. So I permanently sealed and taped that region off and it works fine. I am now looking for a new but cheaper Carbon and HEPA (phillips 1215), any suggestions ?
Nothing can beat the natural air purifier which are "Trees"✨
We need part 2 now. Since many other brands have come up (Honeywell etc was not covered). And these brands may have new better models!
Perks of living in remote rural area, we do not need to worry about AQI.
Please also measure the O3 levels in the air. Some people have hypothesised that the laser sensor the mi purifier can produce ozone which is extremely harmful to breathe
This is a good point. I do believe it is purifiers with ionisers that generate ozone.
The carpets in the place I rent are from the 80’s. I need an air purifier sooo bad!
I would love if you let us know about the ozone generation as well as i have read that it is among the major side effects of using air purifiers
Ionizing wale mai hota hai ozone issue
@@shubhamjain54519 achha, thanks
Tesora Air purifiers are also good! I've not done any tests like these, but maybe techwiser can cover it as a follow up video?
tech with fun makes all tech wiser videos interesting
Great video, contains most of the information required when buying air purifier.
Thanks for making this test. Very useful. I might get a kaiterra as well soon. Can you do a review on that?
SHARP air purifier with PLASMA ioniser is KING OF PURIFICATION HEPA 14 grade.
Would love to see a shootout for the best air flow / lowest cost maintenance / best air purifying numbers:
Medify MA-112
Nuwave oxypure
Shark purifiers HP302 or HC502
Winix 5500-2
Kenmore PM1005
LEVOIT Core 300 , Core 600S
Coway AP-1512HH , Airmega 400S
Mi air purifier 4 lite vs mi air purifier 4?
Which one should i buy?
Reason for banning firecrackers for more about banning hindu festivals same as done on Holi, Karva Chauth etc. Firecrackers hardly put a dent in air quality for more than few hours compared to other sources.
Please update this air purifier comparison and also include this AIRTH Air Purifier for AC its in expensive compared to the traditional air purifier solution. Would love to get techwiser’s verdict on it
Consumer teports like conway, but it is not rated by the us to be mechanical or electronic - meaning it might have ozone.
Watching this made me worry about our health, so I smoked a cigarette
Some actually useful tech video 🙌🙌🙌
the device you are using monitors AQI while the display on the air purifiers displays PM 2.5 levels. that's the reason for the difference in the readings.
Hey, the device measures both AQI and PM2.5. Since, PM 2.5 purification is difficult, all the data and readings are of PM 2.5. We don't test air purifiers for AQI.
6:17 Well, it's not actually bladeless, the blades are inside that thing at the bottom 😅
Excellent report. I have the mi and coway for the last 3 years and they get the job done. Right now aqi outside is 550 and inside my room it is 45. Also mi cylindrical filter is easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner. My preference is mi.
Best air purifier is a bus which takes you out of Delhi.
Short and precise, Subscribed 👍
Buy a box fan ($20 US) and a highly rated furnace filter ($25 US) turn the fan on and let the fan suck it to the back of the fan. It works great!
Much needed. Thanks.
pls make a dedicated video on the types of filters available and whats the difference and which is the best with egs.
Mask that is acceptable in the society 😄
I was about to subscribe you, but then I hear pew. Pew. Pew.
this is so much informative, thanks!
In this smog,I can't think of surviving without one
Quite informative! Good job guys!
This video is not useful now , we will search this five years later 😅😅
This is video is much better than a smartphone spec rundown.. please do similar videos....
Yes they work. I can confirm from personal use. Review complete.
Stubble burning from Punjab goes brrrrrrr.....
Bro in the intro, that's the precise place, where my office matches were held up until last week...
Do these air purifier also help get rid of dust mites? As someone with dust and dust mite allergy I'm concerned.
3:27 you mentioned that the air purifiers themselves were wrong about the actual level of PM 2.5 in your test area. 6:44 You showed the results as displayed by the same faulty air purifiers. Why not show the results from your device shown at 0:22 ?
I was expecting different Phillips air purifier as you tested these earlier. Philips also have circular shape air purifiers.
this is nice and quick, exactly how it should've been
Trees are best purifier 😮
This is serious situation guys Delhi govt should subsidize air purifiers (bhale hi mujhe pata hai ki wo sirf sapne mein hoga) because asthmatic people are really gonna suffer because of this
Why don't you do the same with water purifiers... Toooo.... So much confusing
