The reason is each name for HASHEM reflects another aspect about him. The four- letter name, which does not mean "the existing one" it is actually a contraction of "he was, he is, and he will be" which in a limiting way means "eternal." That name addresses the attribute of mercy. "G-d" in Hebrew is "Elokim" and this name represents the attribute of strict justice. You can understand why we much prefer to use the name of HASHEM in hopes of telling into his abundant mercy. I also want to caution about the casual use of and pronunciation of the tetragrammaton. The name was only pronounced by the high priest in the holy temple. If you follow the ten commandments there is a prohibition of using G-d's name casually. Hashem helps indicate specifically the Jewish deity of Israel, when speaking Hebrew at times I think if we didn’t have another name for the Tetragrammaton it’d be very confusing explaining to Muslims, Hindus, Christian’s, what deity you’re speaking of when speaking in Hebrew. You do realize Yeshua was executed for blasphemy right? It means you agree with your ancestors that that is what He deserved. I can understand why many Christians (or ex Christians) saying that or thinking that…it’s normal. But for me personally, I don’t see it as “who was I talking to” all this time. Even if it is somehow proven Jesus wasn’t God or even the Messiah, my intention wasn’t to “Jesus” himself per se. My prayer intentions were to GOD himself (It just that we were taught that he’s in a triune fashion). But if he’s not, that’s better to me and simplifies things. It’s always been honestly confusing to all of Christians honestly. So, I don’t see it as a big deal honestly and it makes more sense.

I prayed to God, thanked him for sending His son to pay for my sins. I repented. He forgave me. Washed clean. How so? I can’t deny the saving grace. I denied Jesus once and the spirit left me. I repented for my unbelief and the spirit retuned. The spirit and Jesus are one with God. I can’t explain thing better than that to you, but I know it’s the same God Spirit and Jesus I read about in my Bible. Seems to be the same grace, salvation, but without me making the blood sacrifice, Jesus shed his blood instead. The lamb that John the Baptist spoke of. I didn’t deserve what happened, but I had faith and it happened. The same faith you would put in the blood of the lamb in Egypt is the same faith to apply to Messiah’s blood on the cross. Jesus the King of kings and the Messiah is coming soon, are you ready? He is coming as King and not as a suffering Messiah like he did the first time. Can you give an answer why certain portions of the bible such as Isaiah 53 and Daniel 9 are among the forbidden Judaism books? Thank God for Rabbi Tovia Singer , one of the most intelligent people that I have ever witnessed in my life time . I am one of those that converted to Judaism , I was Christian until around age 50 . Christianity is no doubt crazy today because it is basically gynocentrism, an inversion of the teachings of God. "Wives obey your husbands ..." Now it's husbands obey your wives. Happy wife happy God. It's all about serving female emotions and imperatives, as females control the money. The wrath side of God is gone, and Jesus is in the friend zone to affirm female blamelessness and holding men responsible for her sins. But, I don't see the Rabi as having a believable argument as his premise for discrediting Christianity is his belief the Hebrew bible is inerrant. The Hebrew bible is a translation of Sumerian writings (cuneiform tablets) that predated the Hebrew language and it's an inaccurate translation. Scholars today no longer see the old testament as being the most authoritative book in the world due to the discovery of the discovery of ancient sumerian tablets.

So every time they sinned they had to get an animal kill it and sacrifice it on an altar to god as atonement for their sin. But in the New Testament Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for sins of the whole world and atonement . But he doesn’t accept Jesus as the messiah or savior of the whole world or ultimate sacrifice for sins. So he has no atonement. So unless he kills an animals everyday on an altar he has no atonement for his sins. Plus sacrificing animals is over with anyway cause Jesus is the ultimate atonement so even if he did say yes I kill animals everyday for my sins to god it’s still not an atonement for today. Cause Jesus is the Lamb of god and ultimate sacrifice after he sacrificed himself on the cross.

Whats challenging about his explanation for not considering Jesus as a rabbi is many Jews live in accordance to the words of the sages. Sages have redefined Judaism beyond the Torah.

Don't forget... there also have been secular writings of Jesus's death and resurrection. Eye witness accounts have been written (gospels) and have been rejected by Jewish scholars. And also secular writings because they don't want Jesus as their messiah.
It always seemed to me that the accounts found in the NT could explain who Jesus was and what happened to him much better than any other hypotheses. The man was 30-33 yrs old, he preached with shocking authority and shocking clarity and yet appeared mystical to all which only added to his charisma. Then there were the last moments of his life on earth, which were so bizarre and fast-paced and yet were so internally coherent that if someone or some people were to make all this up they would have to a pretty wild imagination and a genius at story-telling (and have a very specific agenda). I think if someone seriously sat down and opened the gospels with an open mind and went through the entire story from beginning to end they would realize there is truth in there. The messiah did come and free (part of) the Jews from stagnancy and close-mindedness, and helped propagate the best of the Jewish laws and philosophies to non-Jewish people for the good of the world. At least to me as a non-Christian the gospel stories made a lot of sense to me. The Trinity is where I stop. May God guide us all to the truth.

I think Tovia Singer is just jealous of Jesus. Millions love Jesus, millions are willing to die for Him. Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah…He CONFIRMED that He is the Messiah, by the signs that only the Messiah could do. Matthew 11:3-6. In John 8:58 He confirms that He is Yahweh, which is why the religious leaders picked up stones to throw at Him. The miracles He did, and the walking on water (Matt 14:25 and Job 9:8), saying that He as the Son of man will return on the clouds of heaven (Matt 26:64 and Dan 7:13-14), Matt 26:63-65, were all confirmations by Him of being The Messiah and G-d. Isaiah 53 tells the story of redemption. The blood covenant. Gods love for all people. Your works will not save you. His work at the cross is the only way. You can reject Gods love. It’s your choice. His blood, pain, and humiliation speaks volumes. You cannot get away !

When I first converted, Rabbi Singer was right, I wanted to think Jesus was a rabbi or teacher of some sort. As I spent more and more time as a Jewish women, over the past 12 years, I realize he just doesn't really matter to me. To me, Trump was famous for the "Big Lie", but Christianity is the biggest lie. I agree Rabbi it is hard to accept as a person who was born Christian that Jesus in the end has no redeeming value in religion. One more try, didn't he bring some basic morality to some people who had no where to access it before?
If the point of the Gospels is to convince us that Jesus is the Messiah, then who ever made up the Gospels should have understood that Jesus should be constantly saying “I am the messiah.” Our supposed eternal soul depends on believing something that Jesus never says directly. Not even once. The fact that millions of people over hundreds of years believe something about a man 👨 that he never admitted, even though their so-called eternal soul hangs in the balance, proves to me that Christianity is a deception sent by The Most High.

Likewise the Emphasises for Judaism has been on the Torah. While the New testament has been completely disregarded. Jesus was indeed a Messiah, but not the kind the Jews imagined. Jesus could save people from the bad results of their "sins." Jesus could help them find health, abundance, fulfillment of their needs, because Jesus could now teach them exactly how the world had been created.
I know that the genealogy of Jesus was listed to reassure Jewish people Jesus had descended from King David. Why would the disciples bother with this? Because the disciples wanted to make it clear that Jesus was very much a Jew of ancient lineage and therefore can be a candidate for Messiahship? For this reason, Jesus studied the Torah diligently to enable him to meet the Pharisees and Scribes with confidence. It was also imperative Jesus should know what had been written of the Messiah because Jesus was convinced he was "he" of whom the Prophets had spoken. Jesus could indeed rescue - save - people from misery, sickness and poverty, even restore them to health and prosperity by showing them the truth concerning the Kingdom of Heaven and the Reality of God.

Christian theology says God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob demands blood sacrifice for forgiveness of sin but look at Leviticus 5 11 - Lev 5:11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering. Rabbi Singer is right. It's not really possible to figure out who the historical Jesus was despite all the New Testament scholars insisting that you can, save for several mythicists and 1 or 2 others. And Josephus is no help. If he wrote the twaddle (the TF, Ant. 18.63-64) the historians say he did, he was being extremely sarcastic because it sounds like Eusebius wrote it.

I can understand why many Christians (or ex Christians) saying that or thinking that…it’s normal.
But for me personally, I don’t see it as “who was I talking to” all this time. Even if it is somehow proven Jesus wasn’t God or even the Messiah, my intention wasn’t to “Jesus” himself per se. My prayer intentions were to GOD himself (It just that we were taught that he’s in a triune fashion). But if he’s not, that’s better to me and simplifies things. It’s always been honestly confusing to all of Christians honestly. So, I don’t see it as a big deal honestly and it makes more sense.

I prayed to God, thanked him for sending His son to pay for my sins. I repented. He forgave me. Washed clean. How so? I can’t deny the saving grace. I denied Jesus once and the spirit left me. I repented for my unbelief and the spirit retuned. The spirit and Jesus are one with God. I can’t explain thing better than that to you, but I know it’s the same God Spirit and Jesus I read about in my Bible. Rabbi Tovia Singer will go down with people who don't read their bibles from Genesis 1 to Revelation. I am sorry to say because it's painful. Rabbi Tovia, so when is your Messiah coming? Jesus the King of kings and the Messiah is coming soon, are you ready? He is coming as King and not as a suffering Messiah like he did the first time. Can you give an answer why certain portions of the bible such as Isaiah 53 and Daniel 9 are among the forbidden Judaism books? The answer is that they are the most strongest evidence that prove that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Please be open minded people and read the whole bible and not only certain portions of the Old Testament. You will miss out on heaven because of another human being.

Thank God for Rabbi Tovia Singer , one of the most intelligent people that I have ever witnessed in my life time . I am one of those that converted to Judaism , I was Christian until around age 50 . I am 75 now in a couple of months . My Children have converted also . Since we have converted we meet some really crazy Christians . WE learn just how crazy Christianity has become. Christianity is no doubt crazy today because it is basically gynocentrism, an inversion of the teachings of God. "Wives obey your husbands ..." Now it's husbands obey your wives. Happy wife happy God. It's all about serving female emotions and imperatives, as females control the money. The wrath side of God is gone, and Jesus is in the friend zone to affirm female blamelessness and holding men responsible for her sins. But, I don't see the Rabi as having a believable argument as his premise for discrediting Christianity is his belief the Hebrew bible is inerrant. The Hebrew bible is a translation of Sumerian writings (cuneiform tablets) that predated the Hebrew language and it's an inaccurate translation. Scholars today no longer see the old testament as being the most authoritative book in the world due to the discovery of the discovery of ancient sumerian tablets.

So every time they sinned they had to get an animal kill it and sacrifice it on an altar to god as atonement for their sin. But in the New Testament Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for sins of the whole world and atonement . But he doesn’t accept Jesus as the messiah or savior of the whole world or ultimate sacrifice for sins. So he has no atonement. So unless he kills an animals everyday on an altar he has no atonement for his sins. Plus sacrificing animals is over with anyway cause Jesus is the ultimate atonement so even if he did say yes I kill animals everyday for my sins to god it’s still not an atonement for today. Cause Jesus is the Lamb of god and ultimate sacrifice after he sacrificed himself on the cross.

Whats challenging about his explanation for not considering Jesus as a rabbi is many Jews live in accordance to the words of the sages. Sages have redefined Judaism beyond the Torah.

Rabbi Singer imo brings up an important point. Modern secular scholars believe it is very difficult to find accurate information about the historical Jesus from the New Testament.

My question is what did Jesus do wrong??he didn’t kill,he healed,he made the blind to see,healed the leopard,he try to bring his people back to God but was rejected just like all the prophets sent to Israel. Did they listen to the prophets?? No. Reading Moses I cry cause I hear Moses pleading to God not to destroy his people for making a golden calf. His answer was pretty terrible. He maids it clear he was the messiah and was going to establish his kingdom . Difference is, people were supposed to be spiritually aware enough to figure it out since his presence was not like of any teacher or prophet before , this is why he said flesh and blood didn’t reveal it to him, it was a understood without him trying to overtly convince anyone
Don't forget... there also have been secular writings of Jesus's death and resurrection.
Eye witness accounts have been written (gospels) and have been rejected by Jewish scholars. And also secular writings because they don't want Jesus as their messiah.
It always seemed to me that the accounts found in the NT could explain who Jesus was and what happened to him much better than any other hypotheses. The man was 30-33 yrs old, he preached with shocking authority and shocking clarity and yet appeared mystical to all which only added to his charisma. Then there were the last moments of his life on earth, which were so bizarre and fast-paced and yet were so internally coherent that if someone or some people were to make all this up they would have to a pretty wild imagination and a genius at story-telling (and have a very specific agenda). I think if someone seriously sat down and opened the gospels with an open mind and went through the entire story from beginning to end they would realize there is truth in there. The messiah did come and free (part of) the Jews from stagnancy and close-mindedness, and helped propagate the best of the Jewish laws and philosophies to non-Jewish people for the good of the world.
At least to me as a non-Christian the gospel stories made a lot of sense to me. The Trinity is where I stop. May God guide us all to the truth.

I think Tovia Singer is just jealous of Jesus. Millions love Jesus, millions are willing to die for Him. Millions love the God of Israel because of Jesus. 2000 years after his death and resurrection He is still changing lives, He is still bringing joy to the soul of people. The metaphor of the Messiah folder and the Recycle bin starting around 3:50 is spot on. It is very confusing as to what to do with this figure after realizing the truth of Isaiah 42:8 and 43:11. But in all likelihood, he never actually existed. He's very likely the amalgamation of many people and many stories, all whipped up into elaborate and inconsistent mythology. When you realize this is the case, "giving up on him" isn't really a thing. You're not abandoning an individual, but rather just an idea.

In John 8:58 He confirms that He is Yahweh, which is why the religious leaders picked up stones to throw at Him. The miracles He did, and the walking on water (Matt 14:25 and Job 9:8), saying that He as the Son of man will return on the clouds of heaven (Matt 26:64 and Dan 7:13-14), Matt 26:63-65, were all confirmations by Him of being The Messiah and G-d. When I first converted, Rabbi Singer was right, I wanted to think Jesus was a rabbi or teacher of some sort. Likewise the Emphasises for Judaism has been on the Torah. While the New testament has been completely disregarded. Except for scholars for better or worse to promote or debate against the New Testament or Gospels. Both sides lack legitimate understandings. I know that the genealogy of Jesus was listed to reassure Jewish people Jesus had descended from King David. Why would the disciples bother with this? Because the disciples wanted to make it clear that Jesus was very much a Jew of ancient lineage and therefore can be a candidate for Messiahship?

Christian theology says God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob demands blood sacrifice for forgiveness of sin but look at Leviticus 5 11 - Lev 5:11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering. (NO BLOOD REQUIRED for forgiveness of sin)! Preachers don't lie to me again! The poor offered flour and was forgiven. Wow!

It is easy to discard any verse in the New Testament or even the whole thing if it doesn't suit your idealogy. But Christianity is about faith alone and nothing else. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Daughters of Babylon will get Plundered by The Lord God.
Isaiah 47:1-6 describes the kingdom of Babylon personified as a virgin that will be shamed and Not destined for a throne as God will destroy the Babylonian kingdom for killing the Israelites without any mercy:
“…Descend and sit on the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldees, for no longer shall they call you tender and delicate.

Therefore verses 33-37
Conclude :
“..For so said the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a granary at the time it is threshed. A little more time and the time of harvest shall come to her.
Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, has devoured me, he has crushed me; yea he has placed me as an empty vessel; he has swallowed me like a sea monster, he has filled his belly with my delicacies; he has rinsed me out.
"May the plundering done me and my food be upon Babylon!" says the dweller of Zion, "and my blood upon the dwellers of [the land of] the Chaldeans!" says Jerusalem.

Isaiah tells the Babylonians 47:12-15:
Stand now with your charms and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you toiled since your youth; perhaps you will be able to help, perhaps you will gain strength.
You have wearied with the multitude of your counsels; let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators of what will come upon you, stand up and save you.
Behold they were like stubble, fire burnt them, they shall not save themselves from the power of the flame; there is no coal by which to warm oneself, [or] fire opposite which to sit.
So were they to you, those for whom you toiled; your traffickers since your youth, each one strayed to his side, no one saves you.”
Daniel 9:1-2 Where does it take place ?
“..In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus of the seed of Media, who was crowned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans.
In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, contemplated the calculations, the number of the years that the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah the prophet, since the destruction of Jerusalem seventy years.”
What will happened concerning kingdom of Media and rebuilding of Jerusalem;
Verses 21-27

In the beginning of your supplications, a word came forth, and I have come to tell it, for you have desirable qualities; now contemplate the word and understand the vision.
Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of your Sanctuary to terminate the transgression and to end sin, and to expiate iniquity, and to bring eternal righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.
And you shall know and understand that from the emergence of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed king [shall be] seven weeks, and [for] sixty-two weeks it will return and be built street and moat, but in troubled times.
And after the sixty-two weeks, the anointed one will be cut off,
and he will be no more, and the people of the coming monarch will destroy the city and the Sanctuary, and his end will come about by inundation, and until the end of the war, it will be cut off into desolation.
And he will strengthen a covenant for the princes for one week, and half the week he will abolish sacrifice and meal- offering, and on high, among abominations, will be the dumb one, and until destruction and extermination befall the dumb one..”
Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed:
on Jerusalem from the day of the first destruction in the days of Zedekiah until it will be [destroyed] the second time.
to terminate the transgression and to end sin: so that Israel should receive their complete retribution in the exile of Titus and his subjugation, in order that their transgressions should terminate, their sins should end, and their iniquities should be expiated, in order to bring upon them eternal righteousness. The number of seventy weeks is four hundred and ninety years. The Babylonian exile was seventy [years] and the Second Temple stood four hundred and twenty [years].
Isaiah 1:24-27:
"Therefore," says the Master, the Lord of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, "Oh, I will console Myself from My adversaries, and I will avenge Myself of My foes.
And I will return My hand upon you(Israel) and purge away your dross as with lye, and remove all your tin.
And I will restore your judges as at first and your counsellors as in the beginning; afterwards you shall be called City of Righteousness, Faithful City.
Zion shall be redeemed through justice and her penitent(feeling of repentance) through righteousness.”

Rabbi Singer is right. It's not really possible to figure out who the historical Jesus was despite all the New Testament scholars insisting that you can, save for several mythicists and 1 or 2 others. And Josephus is no help. If he wrote the twaddle (the TF, Ant. 18.63-64) the historians say he did, he was being extremely sarcastic because it sounds like Eusebius wrote it.
Josephus did write it, it's in his text. It's just debatable wether hw rote it as he was a Christian himself since he worte that Jesus rose from the dead.
But there are also like I mentioned atleast 100 old testament scriptures, Jewish traditions and holy days that prove this to be true. So you don't even have to take my word for it you can take his.
