I made the top!!!! Well, a sample of the top because I'm just a beginner and I wanted to learn how to make it before cutting my beautiful fabric! I looove it! I want to make it every color and use it for going out! Thank you sooo much for this tutorial!
@@spacealienem Update: I made the top in this beautiful light pink fabric with cherries. It came out perfect! I've gotten so many compliements on that top. This tutorial was perfect for a beginner!
A fun afternoon project. Your helpful hint to make gathers was golden. Genius in fact. My gathers turned out even as well. A big time saver. Thank you so very much. I’ll do this again.
Thank you! There are easier ways to make this as well - like making the top without a lining. That would make it easier (but look a little less professional with raw edges on the inside) ♥️
hey jess! i discovered you this video. i have been thinking starting sew clothes, like vest and long skirt, maybe like pj that you're sharing. and you are wonderful teacher. english is not my native language and sewing is sometimes complicated (u know) but i understand easily how i sew this pj set. i'm really excited to trying sew this! 💋
I haven't watched yet but I will. And I am going to make these! I've been wanting some babydoll PJs and I have a feeling these might be easier than a pattern I have...altho I'll probably make those, too lol. ❤
Hi, I'm wondering if your strap length was 13.5 inches (12.5 + 1)... When you went to cut the strap ruffles, why did you use 16 inches to calculate the lenth? Shouldn't it have been 13.5 x 1.75? I wonder if I missed something...
Hi!!! Oh wow, I’m so glad you mentioned this! I didn’t even catch that 😂 I just re-measured my strap and it was 16”! So I was incorrect in saying 13.5”. I think I originally thought it was 13.5” but then quickly realized I should make it longer haha. Sorry about the confusion!

I love this pattern! It’s so cute. I would also try to modify it to create a matching sleeping dress with ruffles at the bottom like the shorts.

um im a beginner, why are we folding it and cutting?
is it because we need two pieces that are symmetrical?
Yes!! So that everything is symmetrical! Also easier to cut.
