      Yes!! I’m so curious about drip! I need drip in my garden and have no clue about it or how to properly set it up… does it drip all day…
      The water pressure on my outside faucet is kind of powerful so I’m wondering if it could even handle it I don’t know. I just need help!! Help Jason!! 😂😂🙌🏼🙌🏼

    You can always pinch half and leave half that way you get early blooms on some and early branching on others 😀

    Have you considered shifting the gazebo to the left to block your propane tank? Just an idea to flip it…this would also allow people who pull up to see your right side, like your star jasmine wall and get a peek at your secret side garden entry…I know there will be the dry creek bed that will lead to the gazebo, but perhaps it could wind over to the left…all just a thought.

    Hi Janie, In regards to temporary solutions to keeping Monty out of spaces, Box stores have temporary black fencing that sets up very easily. I use it as trellis for vines, to keep rabbits out of veg garden, around new plants until established. It’s very versatile, easy to work with, stacks for storage, isn’t ugly, and there is a short version and taller version. It was worth the investment because I’ve found so many uses! Loving how your garden is coming along. Thanks for bringing us along 😊

    Janey I just have to thank you so much for sharing about Vego garden beds with your audience! I work for a nonprofit that is starting a garden and I suggested reaching out to Vego to see if they might donate some beds after seeing them do the same for your daughters' school. And... they are going to donate 2 large beds to us!! What an awesome company! Thank you for choosing to work with companies that give back to communities. I'll definitely be buying a Vego bed very soon for my own home to support such a great business.

    Hi Janey,I keep looking at your gas tank and obviously the placement could be better. It is though part of what needs to be there so I love your idea of planting around it, fencing it in or putting some sort ok pump house type of structure. Everything is looking lovely and pretty soon you’ll not even realise it’s there. Beautiful work you and Jason have done on your land❤

    Need to stake the amaranth, or plant close together. They will flop in the wind. I plant them like corn in a square of 10ftx10ft so they can lean on each other. It gets taller than corn, like 7 to 8ft tall if it is loving its life. 😮It self seeds like crazy. Once you plant amaranth you never have to plant it again.

    Janey, have you thought about painting the propane tank to look like a giant watermelon or ear of corn, until you have another solution? If you Google "Paint propane tank to look like a giant watermelon," you will find lots of images. Maybe this is way too silly(?) since your other projects are more grown up looking. I've been enjoying following your progress!

    Have no knowledge how this works, but does the leach field in the front oval add water and nutrients to the soil? Thank you for the update on your cut flower garden. I like the idea of planting out beyond the front fence. Because of the septic field, are you prohibited from planting trees? Also, I presume you're waiting for the gas tank to be relocated before planting something permanent.

    I just discovered ants on my citrus tree and it was due to a scale infestation. I pruned off the infected branches and sprayed the bottom of the tree trunk with a concentrated orange oil product. The orange oil kills ants on contact, but more importantly it also keeps them from climbing up the tree. The ants will not cross the orange oil area. Repeat applications are necessary as the oil wears off however. I did try the plastic wrap and Tanglefoot tree insect barrier idea, but my ants just found a way to crawl under the plastic wrap no matter what I did to stop them.

    • @FarmgirlFriday
      @FarmgirlFriday 15 дней назад +1

      I haven’t pinched much over the years, I usually wait like Janey and cut the first blooms back to the next branches as soon as they show up. It has a similar effect and I get to enjoy the early blooms! I’ve never pinched Hollyhocks (that depends on variety, some only have a single stem) and of course don’t pinch single sunflowers, just the branching types.
