- Residents of Irishtown, New Brunswick, have embarked on a mission to unravel a mystery after discovering a message in a bottle dating back to the 1980s.
The note, found by locals near a nearby river, bears a logo from Tower Gift World, a gift shop with locations in the Canadian province at the time. It was a bit weathered and watermarked - with the words, “To the finder, let me out.”
After sharing the discovery online, the post has been widely circulated, with people from the area hoping to identify the senders.
Global's Suzanne Lapointe reports.

World's falling apart, and we're looking for note writers..😒
Don't be so cynical. Nobody is negating the global troubles. There is nothing wrong with people having a bit of fun and enjoying what could be an interesting mystery.
The police did it 😂
Such a maritime news story
If your depressed, 😔 seek help
Yeah, the criminals realised if nobody walks around anymore than nobody can help their victims. Empty streets, useless police, I think they won! 🤔
I read it, it said capitalism sucks
