  • I unleash my film nerd essay chops discussing the film “Rebel Without a Cause”, esp. how a certain colour is used to symbolise the main characters' feelings.
Oh, I didn’t think I'd see you here, below the fold. Well, I'll tellz ya then, as a reward...
Now, see, the colour is red. Now, don't scream your head off! You've got to keep that to yourself, ya hear?! No one likes a grass, and if I hear that one peep about it came out of you, then you'll have no choice but to take your pillow, grab your blankie, and get real comfy sleeping with the fishes.

Check out Culture Broker, a serial fiction novel I’m writing:
This is a story about a young woman who gets into all the wrong crowds.
And a story about a young man who is all the wrong crowds.
For everyone's sake, they should not fall in love.

I love Nicholas Ray's expressionism. I've only seen Rebel once, but In a Lonely Place and Johnny Guitar are two amazing films, and the latter does color perfectly. Color is an important part of the impact in Johnny Guitar's piano scene. Bigger than Life is also amazing and scary

I've heard of those two films, but haven't watched them yet. Thanks for the recommendations for both!
