This album "The Score" dropped in 1996, I was a senior in high school. The next day after senior prom a group of my friends and all our prom dates went to Six Flags Over Georgia, which was like a 2 hour drive from my hometown. I remember us listening to it on the drive up to Six Flags. It never left the CD deck. All of us had so much fun. Every time I hear this song or the album, it brings up all of those great memories... man... days gone by.

Absoultely Agree!! I am blessed to be born in '77 and a 90s girl..Wow, those were the times where we all had each other's backs through the music not matter was revolving around us in the world. Last generation of great music & great artists!
Music just ain't the same no more. I remember back in 1996 I was a young g I bought this album and fell in love with it. I ended up returning it for 2pacs album all eyez on me cause it was one or the other due to my financial issues and I really wanted that pac album. I can't say I regret my decision cause to this day that pac album is still my favorite.. but I later found a job and bought this album again... its a classic that deserves a spot right next to all eyez on me. Top 3 albums of the 90's for me is first krayzie bone - thug mentality 1999, second 2pac - all eyez on me and third fugees - the score
If you're reading this you're a legend because you actually had to for search this song! Good music will live forever on RUclips aka the modern day time machine!

I remember as a kid in the late 90's we used to watch MTV a lot. I mean this old, real MTV which showed music videos 24/7 unlike today with all this guido and teen pregnancy crap. We felt always very lucky if we saw this video.
maybe there's nothing to show anymore , we had great songs and clips (= literally small movies ) , now it's a bunch of guys, some boobs, ass, money... and a crappy dance *sigh* I remember those days when you discovered a new song and have to wait till the next time aired, hand on the remote to record the shit : on tape ! remember Bavis and Butthead too :'d
Fugees were top of their game, the chart released stuff was pretty much perfect for radio but the The Score album has to be one of the best produced big market hip hop albums ever made.
I was born long enough ago to live & hear the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, music. I remember watching MTV when it first aired. Back when they actually played music videos, before reality TV killed it. To find good music consistently after 2000s, has been difficult. I'm just glad that I was able to experience it.
Running home from college, around 16 or 17 to see this official video when it first aired on MTV, jesus christ I would give anything to be back there, everything was better, everything and everybody. Kids today have no idea just how much better, no matter how much we try to tell them. We were so lucky to have lived through the 80s and especially if you grew up and into your teens through the 90s like me, oh god it makes me so happy to remember back and yet so sad, its strange. Awesome song, awesome times
I remember the first time being exposed to this song and the Fugees overall as a kid when Scott Hall used it at a WCW house show back in 1997. Something I'll never forget. R.I.P. Scott Hall

I mean MTV had some garbage shows back then. My favorite was the one when you ur dating someone and yall having a rough relationship then u bring 3 other ppl on to see if they're gonna be the next BF or GF while ur current significant other is watching yall kissing and going on a date😂
I'm glad she got out before Hollywood ate her up. She got in, owned it, got what she needed and got out. Lauren had the foresight to see how Hollywood and the media corrupts. She is a legend and a goddess. Voice of my youth.
Lol, she let her mind get twisted by this pastor and was living in a hotel with her kids a few years back after dealing her baby's father one of Marley sons!

I remember as a kid in the late 90's we used to watch MTV a lot. I mean this old, real MTV which showed music videos 24/7 unlike today with all this guido and teen pregnancy crap. We felt always very lucky if we saw this video.

RIP REAL MTV!
maybe there's nothing to show anymore , we had great songs and clips (= literally small movies ) , now it's a bunch of guys, some boobs, ass, money... and a crappy dance *sigh*
I remember those days when you discovered a new song and have to wait till the next time aired, hand on the remote to record the shit : on tape !

Ready or not you can,t hide or escape. Big like for Nostalgic times!
Fugees were top of their game, the chart released stuff was pretty much perfect for radio but the The Score album has to be one of the best produced big market hip hop albums ever made.
Nice insight mr/mrs pickle

I was born long enough ago to live & hear the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, music. I remember watching MTV when it first aired. Back when they actually played music videos, before reality TV killed it. To find good music consistently after 2000s, has been difficult. I'm just glad that I was able to experience it.
who is here because they've had that humming stuck in their head for 24 years
possum well said 🥂👍🍀🌹🙏
Meeeeee!!!!!
The humming is actually from a soundtrack of Enya's. They mixed into this track so well!

Born in the early 80's and your right these songs are soundtracks to VIVID memories
You’re alive right now, enjoy it.
😢
I remember the first time being exposed to this song and the Fugees overall as a kid when Scott Hall used it at a WCW house show back in 1997. Something I'll never forget. R.I.P. Scott Hall

Dope beat nice VIDEO and classic all the time Fugees The Score was dope album I still listen to those songs I'm Haitian so much respect to Wyclef JEAN represent to all the HAITIANS
Nuff respect to all my HAITAIN BROTHERS AND SISTERS>>
The beat is great... that’s why they ripped off enya and stole her music.. but these idiots trashed a good song
DYNAMIC you're telling lies, fugees make the song better and she got paid 3 millions.
peter pi damn that was inept... ok Pete, just listen to Boadicea, and then tell me which is better... and yeah these ghetto thief’s ripped off this beat... through a drum kit and started rapping over it. And if it’s not considered to be better... why does her song gross far more $$
peter pi can I tell you what I love most about this comment.... you took the time looked it up... and you found the exact pay out.... completely ignoring (or just ignorant) that she had to take the to court and force them to... yeah they paid her.. instead of going to jail LOL
Enya - Boadicea (if anyone wondered where the sample came from)
I was jus thinking the same thing
Enya = Legend

Ashford Gorejena we r getting older and nostalgic. Love the fugees though but i get it if kids nowadays don t appreciate this.
MTV was still airing crap too with this. Let's not kid ourselves, every music video was followed with a Real World.

The last centurion you better beat it before we at RUclips eat you
The last centurion she is wise
Lol, she let her mind get twisted by this pastor and was living in a hotel with her kids a few years back after dealing her baby's father one of Marley sons! She should've taken her own advice from "Doo Wop"..but love her though a true talent and she needs to come back and knock out a lot of these no talent having whack garbage female MC's out here now for good!
