    I am so glad you decided to post a bath bomb video. I have been making my own at home and have been running into trouble with them crumbling and staying together. This video has been very informative for the ways I can improve my technique

      That's great! I am glad it was helpful to you. Bath bombs are so finicky and are quite difficult to really get figured out. Even if I do and share the recipe, it's not guaranteed to work for someone else. It seems it is different for everyone due to humidity, ingredients used, etc.. I bought a 50 lb bag of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and one would assume it's the same thing. Nope...I can't press a decent bath bomb for anything with it. It doesn't matter how much liquid I add, etc.. It just won't stay together. But I do see other more commercial makers using it and apparently work with it just fine.

    I think you did awesome! I didn't even notice the wee bit of purple sticking out until I watched your video. I have been too busy sniffing the smell because it's amazeballs! After watching to the end, I think you did a fabulous job of demonstrating all of the work that goes in from start to finish on what it takes to create ONE product! Thanks for your generosity of sharing all the information. I was looking at the national shrinkwrap and after seeing you use it, it will be the next 'big' purchase!

      That's fantastic! I have three Kitchen Aids. One I was given as a gift when I was leaving home. It was refurbished and it is still hanging in there. I have two 6 qt Kitchen Aids and have just never loved them. So when I bought the Cooklees, I just put the Kitchen Aids back in their boxes. Haha, yes, about the yellow bath bombs too. I was trying really hard to stay towards a creamy yellow. I know it's still going to look a hint weird in the tub. lol

    Hi Holly, these look so nice and they sound relaxing in the tub 😌. When weighing out essential oils, do you go by the total batch or the oils itself? Thank you 😊 💓.

    • @moriversoap

    I have not tried them yet but one of the soapers raves about the twist on caps that you flip the top up and it just drizzles out the fragrance without spilling. I’ve seen them on Amazon and I think wholesale plus. I’m gonna get some soon

    Hello Holly, really love your video. I am a little curious, when you spray your soap with alcohol, what kind of alcohol are you spraying onto the soap please as you don't clarify what alcohol is in the bottle spray? Many thanks.

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  Год назад

      I usually just say a high percentage alcohol. I would vary between 91% and 99%. I often found I had better luck with 91% but many would argue that 99% is better.

    I used to use milk powder in my bath bombs and I used a vanilla fragrance from a favorite supplier and I don't know if there was a bad reaction or what but within a few weeks the bath bombs was watery and moldy. Weird. I made several batches with other FO that day and that is the only one it ever happened with.

    Hi Holly. Thanks for sharing this. Can I ask you a question? How much mica powder do you add in? Coz I try making at home about 8-10 bath bomb per batch. And I use half a tea spoon. And for some reason, the mica powder actually stain my bath tub. Making it so hard to clean. Is it because I throw in the mica in powder form? Or should I put it in water and dissolve it first before putting in?

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Did you use Polysorbate 80 so that the mica disperses in water? I don't tend to have troubles with the smaller amounts of mica.

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  2 года назад +2

      Thank you! Are you using one like from Cada Molds? From my understanding, you may need to have a little more oil in the mix. Make sure you tap the edges with a spoon to help it release. Every now and again, rub some baking soda in the mold and tap it out. That seems to help with some of the sticking.

    I love your videos :) How do you manage to use water in a recipe and not start the reaction of citric acid with water in a bomb? I even react to 95% alcohol, because it contains 5% water :)

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  2 года назад

      Thank you! I am using very little water to the ratio of the final product. The baking soda at first has just a very slight moisture content but it's still dry...if that makes sense. I do want it to react just the tiniest bit because that helps it to get harder and they ship better that way. By adding the citric acid last, I have very little reaction. If I have to add some spritzes of alcohol, it will sometimes fizz just the tiniest bit but it blends in fast with the mixer without any negative results.
