Hi, I just uploaded here some new vids that youtube blocked over year ago, as i noted some now aren't blocked, like how this video used to be - Blocked worldwide.
Fun Fact: They filmed both ending scenes where he ends up with each Knives and Ramona just so the actual ending couldn’t be spoiled. At the time, the comic books haven’t been finished yet. Also, fun fact, I’m in this movie as an extra. I’m in all the arcade scenes and I’m in the Battle of The Bands scene. Also, fun fact, I met my wife on set. She was also an extra in this movie lol.
ramonas "I only smoke on special occasions" line would've been a cool parallel for when scott says he only drinks on special occasions later on, showing how much of a hypocrite he is for getting onto her for it
I honestly it's more romantically done in the comic. It felt so much more genuine and tender, even if it was meant for laughs. This deleted scene honestly felt like it was just meant to be funny and not very romantic. Edit: So yeah, I'm actually glad they did cut it.
This is extremely stupid but the joke I laughed the hardest at in the comics is when Scott blurted out, "DO YOU WANT TO HAVE *SEX* ? I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE *SEX* . *CASUAL* SEX."
I had just found out recently that Mae (Roxy) learned to ribbon dance for her battle with Ramona and that the ribbon was replaced digitally for her belt weapon. Seeing the other cut of that scene you can clearly see the ribbon sometimes (unfinished special effects). Cool!
Honestly I can see how people see the Knives ending as the "bad" ending, it just feels kinda pathetic to watch because instead of Scott chasing the woman he actually wants, he stays complicit in being in a pointless and unhealthy relationship with a young girl who is obsessed with him. I think it's made even more sad because they immediately go to a completely empty arcade, which is just a depressing visual, and overall it feels like this ending just negates any growth that Scott had
Well to be fair, they filmed both of the scenes where he gets with knives and then when he gets with Ramona so the ending doesn't get spoiled. You also gotta take into consideration that the novels weren't finished yet when making the movie
Those Nega-Scott scenes should've made it to the film I mean, they don't really affect the pacing that much, and Nega-Scotr has been featured multiple times in the comic
Personally i think it's good that they cut it there wasn't enough scenes hinting at it and i just kinda throws the vibes off it feels a lil bit too sinister
I do hate that in the movie they took the conclution of nega Scott as a joke. In the comics it's one of the most heartwarming yet sad moments in the series
seeing knives get her justice is great but SEEING RAMONA WALK OFF WITHOUT HIM SHATTERS MY HEART EDIT (4 years later): noticed this is getting traction again cause of the anime!! i originally made this comment when i was 15, didn’t know any better and romanticized tf out of this movie. definitely know now that scott is a major creep and didn’t deserve knives at all :P
I really don’t get why people say that Scott should’ve ended up with Knives. Scott doesn’t really see her romantically and she’s only 17. Scott is not the person for Knives and is not Knives the person for Scott either. But I do think the best way to end it was for Scott and Ramona to be just friends and learning that they don’t need a “nice boy/girlfriend” to have something nice and it’s open to interpretation whether their relationship is going to be romantic or not in the future.
@@Tyler-cm6vk oh yeah, definitely! after a year of being obsessed with this movie and understanding that scott is an complete asshole, i understand this take
It seems to be the actual ending but they changed it apparently "after divisive reactions from test audiences and the release of the final Scott Pilgrim vs. the World graphic novel, which was released after production ended but before the film premiered"
@@VCYT Yeah that would be great but since all the exes and all that negative stuff is now gone, it would probably be some kind of a rom-com with Scott and Ramona or something like that, not saying that's bad tho
I love the first version of the park scene it makes ramona and Scott have a deeper connection and has a touch of relatability with it and feels good paced
I'm so glad they made all these changes. It would have been a completely different movie. Scott would've let go of what he was fighting for all along, and honestly, that obsession theme just rubs me the wrong way. It's not cute at all. It was pretty much what was also driving the league, so to have that praised by Ramona makes no sense. I'll say that their break up at the end seems healthy, at the least. But that is such a miserable ending for Ramona.
Damn that bathroom scene with NegaScott is chilling. I'd have love to see it on the final cut, but I kinda get why they cut it out, since NegaScott was just a gag in the movie.
I really like 4:55 and I wish it was in the final cut. It really shows how flawed and spontenous Romana is and really shows, even though how awful he is, Scott cares about her unconditionally. Such an amazing scene all along, wish I lived something closer to this but it's hard to find a snowy day over in Southern hemisphere.
that first park scene was SO GOOD!!! I feel like including it in the final cut of the film would have fleshed out Ramona and Scott's relationship a lot more and would make the audience root for them over Scott and Knives but whatever they tried I guess
I like certain elements of the first two versions, I like how some of it's closer to the comics, I also like the bit where Scott says he feels stupid and Ramona says he's probably not that stupid, that was nice. Always felt kinda bad for Scott when everyone was hating on him in the movie tbh
Yeah it makes Scott come off as a total prick. And he was already a creepy douche to begin with. The movie was already towing the line between making him unlikable and tolerable, so I think the extended version of the scene would’ve made it worse. Not to mention it makes me wonder why Ramona is at all interested in Scott.
@@sofihanafi3196wah wah wah, I didn't get an exact retalling of the original and instead got brand new content that adds even more depth to the entire cast of characters
Yeah, couldn't stop laughing after seeing this in the comic. Everyone on the bottom row got KOed for 20-30mins, even Kim & Scott doubted they're being serious. Both Ramona & Stacey's reaction to the aftermath is pure gold. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The original ending has so much more sense its insane. Let's start, shall we? When Knives says that Scott should go and get Ramona and that she would be fine, we know for a fact that she will be fine. Knives is just 17 and has a long way, since Scott is her first boyfriend and she has already realized he doesn't love her as much as he loves Ramona. She could 100% stay happy and not be worried about Scott. Ramona on the other hand has now an 8th boyfriend, Scott. She said that she flew from New York to Toronto because she wanted to leave behind her past and just everything, but so happens that her past chases her even here in Toronto. She also said that Scott was the nicest guy she's ever dated, while being emotional. She probably wouldn't be able to handle losing someone like Scott so lightly, no matter how much she cared about him. Conclusion is that: Original ending- Ramona is happy Scott wanted to be with her, Knives will get over it and she will be fine. Alternate ending - Knives is happy with Scott, we see Ramona almost crying.
Scott is emotionally needy. He lacks self-confidence, so he's constantly looking for affirmation. Knives and Scott are closer to the same maturity level and they complement each other in that respect. Ramona may have thought Scott was the nicest guy she ever dated, but if you look at her history, it's just one bad boy (or girl) after another. These are obviously the kind of people she likes and connected with. Scott, in his nice guy "let me give you the history of Pac Man" way, would probably eventually bore Ramona to tears. While Ramona may be a good fit for Scott, Scott is not really a good fit for Ramona, and while it may be the ending we want, it's not really the ending she needs.
Ramona never even did anything for scott, she was just using him to get rid from her exes, even if she actualy loved him this relationship was abusive. Most of the movie he was just simping over ramona which he didnt even wanted to know closer because he knew that his picure of the perfect girl would be destroyed. So him ending up with ramona doesnt make sence for me.
They should of put those little nega Scott teasers they were pretty cool and they could lead to the suspense of them encountering each other just to hit it off and be friends or whatever it would of been cool ngl
I feel like they were really cool, but while watching them it makes it feel like the audience would moreso blame Nega-Scott instead of just Scott being a terrible person. It’s all a part of him but I feel like it might murky the message.
@@Emiturbina yeah, it's kinda disturbing how she falls for him without any reason, big red flag tbh. They could at least gave her a not toxic context to be into him. When I was a teenager, I thought it was awesome the idea of having this insanely hot girl falling for me even tho I had nothing to stand up to, as long as I persisted, ignored her if she refused and stuff. Now I just think it's disgusting, dude is straight up harassing her at her work, she said no to him a bunch of times and then accepted it out of spite.
I'm kinda disappointed that the deleted scenes didn't feature any dialogue of Ramona explaining the subspace, even an additional scene would've sufficed Because the movie didn't really show as to how the subspace works, it just shows them floating to a door
22:55 as funny as it is to have Scott just explicitly outline the entire hero’s journey, I think it’s for the best that it got cut because it’s just too long
Whether as herself or as Ramona Victoria "Rammy" Flowers, Mary Elizabeth Winstead will forever remain my top personal-favorite live-action actress and little sweetheart....
I like the one they picked for the movie. It's one of my favorite scenes honestly. "Maybe it wasn't me you should have been fighting for...I think I learned something!"
that first park scene is way better, it made me melt for them and were so cute about "special ocations" and shi, also the alternative final was heartbreaking, I'm glad he stayed with Ramona
Honestly I prefer the Knives ending, as many do. Knives would have loved Scott, Ramona you just never know and probably would leave him sooner than later.
I think people miss the point entirely. I would say Scott and Ramona are in as perfect of a love as it gets. When you truly LOVE someone they aren't perfect and never truly were, it's clear Ramona is a cooler than Scott deserves catch, but he fights FOR her and consistently CHOOSES her even with all the "Baggage". In the end Ramona sees he does love her, sure he could have handled certain situations in his own past better, but who HASN'T been there. Some people ARE like Ramona, hopelessly running AWAY from problems or responsibility, believing themselves unworthy or undeserving of love. Scott and Ramona rescue each other in the end, and that's why it will be a perfect love story for me. The fantasy elements are there because everyone sees themselves as the hero or victim in their own minds. Figuring it all out takes a LONG time in real life, they have to do it in 112 minutes.
In the comics the relationship of Scott and Ramona is more fleshed out and it makes more sense. The movie was trying to set up for him to end up with Knives so that is why. Also, Scott and Knives do remain as friends in the end of the comics
Yea there's a lot of ideas from the movie (mostly jokes I think) that went into the books. In terms of the ending, not really, Wright wanted the Knives ending, that's why he directed Ramona to be more cold and emotionally disconnected compared to the comic version. Scott ending with Ramona was very likely O'Malley's idea.
The extended pizza scene and the Nega-Scott scenes would have been fun to have in the movie, but for everything else I think it's fine how it was. Still very enjoyable to watch all of these after seeing the movie so many times
Dam i never realized or even thought how the scenes would drag if they used the exact sentences from the book. I would've never known which parts to cut.
I think the 1st deleted scene was deleted because the mom could be a seen as a racist portrail of a chinese woman and also Scott kinda gives a creepy look at knives when shes only 17

Figuring it all out takes a LONG time in real life, they have to do it in 112 minutes.
i like ramona and scott not ending together but not knives and scott ending up together if they were just to stay friends that would’ve been good
In the comics the relationship of Scott and Ramona is more fleshed out and it makes more sense. The movie was trying to set up for him to end up with Knives so that is why. Also, Scott and Knives do remain as friends in the end of the comics
16:37 This guy voices The spot in across the spider-verse.
He also kind of looks and sounds like another actor named Josh Zuckerman
A few scraped ending were where Scott killed all the the evil x’s and then it turnt to a news report
Na, they just respawn
That was considered but I dont think it was ever filmed since that seems super dark for a fun comedy movie
Actually Edgar Wright helped with “writing” the comics he gave tons of ideas to Bryan lee O’Malley like the ending of Scott going with ramona
I remember he missed the trash can like 30 times
wallace is my fav twink fr fr
I would love a version that includes all these scenes!
Who smokes anyway - Hilter? Satan? - straight killed me!
The extended pizza scene and the Nega-Scott scenes would have been fun to have in the movie, but for everything else I think it's fine how it was. Still very enjoyable to watch all of these after seeing the movie so many times
Thank you for this 🙏🏼 I absolutely love this movie...
these scenes add 10x more depth
the way she flew off the swing oml
i wish other scott had been in the movie more
I DEMAND THE EXTENDED WRIGHT CUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!! (Except for the alternate ending- he belongs with Ramona. Knives is too cool for him.)
Exactly
15:26 shouldve been kept lmao
The Nega-Scott shots should’ve been kept; in the theatrical version it does feel like Nega-Scott comes out of nowhere.
Where is the alternative ending when the police arrested Scott for multiple murders with numerous witnesses?
According to the author of the comic, the evil exes don’t die, they just spawn back at their home as don’t want to be evil anymore
They should’ve added in more of the park scenes Into the final cut it just seems like they have more chemistry
The movie should have had more Nega Scott scenes to really show his turning to a possible evil ex XD
That added scene on the swings makes everything so much better wtf
It's like he was about to cry when he first asked Ramona out to "hang"
michael cera *always* looks like he's about to cry
They should have left those extra songs with Wallace yelling at them in
Dam i never realized or even thought how the scenes would drag if they used the exact sentences from the book. I would've never known which parts to cut.
The other ending really doesn't feel right
The Nega-Scott is terrifying.
Lots of scenes would make best this movie
True
except the alternative ending scene
broo the scott and ramona park scene was sooo good
Wow, these park scenes are cool. Develop Ramona and Scott’s relationship in a nice way.
I think the 1st deleted scene was deleted because the mom could be a seen as a racist portrail of a chinese woman and also Scott kinda gives a creepy look at knives when shes only 17
well i mean no matter how you look at it, a 22 year old dating a 17 year old is creepy and gross
@@bennykat___ not really
@@DiamondsRexpensive its a full grown adult dating a child not even out of highschool, and as a 17 year old thats fucking weird lol
@@bennykat___ the age of consent in Canada is 16
Gosh i loved them, i hope we've got a director's cut hahaha
The alternate ending isn't bad, it's just so out of left feel considering the rest of the movie
2:09 Scott: Wallace, how do you do that?
Wallace: you know me😉
Damn the first swing scene between Ramona and Scott is so much more interesting like this, why they didn't keep it !!!
some of these scenes were actually included in the blu ray release
I would have been SO fuckin pissed if the movie ended that way
