And im guilty of it, i sometimes politely refuse hugs because i sometimes feel uncomfortable hugging strangers(now in his case she might be a celebrity, but she's probably not friends with him so technically she's a stranger to him as well) and he politely refused, if he cussed or acted in a rude way he would be doing something wrong, but he said "no thanks" multiple times, now to be fair.
