Surprised Strawberry Shortcake cereal wasn't included in here. I was a young boy when that came out. And loved it. I was even obsessed with that doll because of the smell of the hair like strawberries.

I miss Waffle Crisp!!! It was truly discontinued in my neck of the woods, as I stopped seeing Waffle Crisp in our local stores, long before 2018. Those of you who live in areas where they are still sold, are lucky!
I think these kid cereals went out for a few reasons such as, of course too much sugar, but also because as time went on, kids grew up, and they were not interested like they were when they were smaller. Also, as generations change, certain characters or themes of cereals will be unrelatable meaning some generations won't know them thus will not be interested in getting their parents to buy it. It seems as though now on 2019, kids aren't even eating cereal anymore not unless there's an emoji or Facebook cereal. Maybe one of the cereal brands could try something like that.
How about General Mills' Buc-Wheats, which was a flaked cereal of buckwheat with a maple coating? It was a great cereal until Big G inexplicably replaced the maple flavor with a honey one. It was discontinued sometime in the '80s.

Smurf Berry was different. Most cereals have similar taste but Smurf Berry crunch was so good and it made the ultimate milk. Nothing like it has been created since.
