      Wouldn't that defeat the purpose? This is a transcription, from someone who was fooling around and improvising. Better to learn music theory and practice until you can do the same thing, not play it exactly the way someone else has.

      Accurate transcription is harder. It's not difficult to play. Depends on how good you can play. ;-)

      why do folks always think it's hard to write down music? is it hard for you to write down words that somebody else has said?

      rillloudmother words are a lot more easy to figure out than notes lol. Not everyone has perfect pitch, or tons of transcription experience you clown. We get it, it must be easy for you, congrats

      Software can easily auto transcribe piano music into midi, then you just need to organise it into sheet music. Not that im saying thats how Timothy does it.

    I love how you can tell he really FEELS the harmonies continually folding in on themselves, and how much easier it is to notice things in this arrangement from your transcription. You've outdone yourself. Instant sub.

    Waow ! Amazing version of this amazing tune by an amazing performer. Pierre-Yves Plat is one the best pianists I have ever heard, he is a virtuoso, but he is also funny and enthusiastic : not that frequent.

    Loving this version of this song...Not going to try to play it like you but will definitely take some ideas from you...mind you I've always played this solo, but never up tempo like this or with breaks at 03:35. Thank you sooooo much for posting and sharing.

    In bar 173 it's actually wrong counted, he plays a note every 2 bars and the claps are at the 3 beat of every bar

      @@NinaZemlock, but sometimes it is a bit easier to get some help from sheet music to get those obscure chords that you can't hear too clearly. So I do try to get the chords sheets, or sheet music to help with that.
      but other than that, playing by ear in my opinion is more comfortable.

      Even better, playing by ear - or rather, having just a reference - means you'll develop your own style, adding or removing sections the way you want to. That way you're creating your very own version!

    Hi! I’m an amateur jazz pianist, been mostly playing classical all my life. I was wondering what the white notes with X’s in them meant. Thank for the help!

      In this case they're used to represent cluster chords (really the pianist kind of slapping his hand on the keys without too much concern for the notes in the middle to give a percussive sound). You wouldn't see this too often in musical notation meant to be played from, but this is a transcription of what is essentially improv or an unwritten arrangement.

      It's when Pierre-Yves is playing chords with this palm, so there's no real way to tell which notes are under his hand.
