- Brian Laudrup 'GOD' Tribute
In July 1994, Laudrup was offered an escape route from Italy when he was approached by Walter Smith of Rangers, and he signed in a £2.3 million deal. His time in Scotland was filled with success as he helped Rangers complete their nine-in-a-row sweep of the Scottish League Title and was awarded Danish Player of the Year twice, giving him a record four wins of the award. Laudrup's time with Rangers was a massive success where many fans still consider him to be the greatest ever foreigner to have played for Rangers. His performance in the 1996 Scottish Cup Final where he scored two and setup three goals has since made Rangers fans call the game the Laudrup Final
For all who compare Larsson and Brian. No need to undervalue anyone. They were both very good players in their respective prime, but if I have to pick one I will have no doubt. Larsson was a really efficient striker and had an excellent career. But Brian was special. He was that type of player that fans pay a ticket and go to the stadium to watch him play. He was pure talent, almost as good as his brother Michael... And Michael is considered by many one of the best ever. Capital letters.
i think brian was good talent for finishing goals and assists. Michael in the begining of his career played like forward but cruyff saw his talent for doing the play of barcelona
Both Laudrup´s were great in their prime, but Brian is my favorite due to his explosive runs. MIchael was the assist-man in Cruyff Dream Team, and one of best "number 9" in the game, but rarely he could decide a game on his own. When you needed someone to save the day - Brian Laudrup was the answer.
@@jesuff183 brian was never good at finishing, he was good at creating
You could also say brian achived more at a higher level than larrson did and 2 different types of player larrson was a goal scorer brian was a play maker who chiped in with some goals
@@stevenaughts2120 brian wasn't very good in the champions league which is a flaw in his career
The one man army...don’t know how many times this fantastic player saved our national team or some of the great clubs he joined...cheers
I can vividly remember every single one of these magical moments, they are engrained in my mind forever, some of them seen live, some just watched countless times on well worn video tapes! Love you Brian! Thanks so much for posting this (even if it's only been recommended to me 8 years later) :D
Just glad I was able to watch this amazing player.
Same here although a Rangers fan all my life i started going to Ibrox for the 1st time just to see Laudrup, im from the Capital and although my dad is a Ger hence the reason i am he never took me to any games so i had to wait till i was older to go myself imo no one had the style grace flair and skill of Laudrup well not that i had ever seen live Legend is an understatement imo 💯👌

@@adidasaddict2023 imo he was 👍 enjoy the rangers page timmy
@Dave54600 yeh we should just admire scottish football had 2 hevayweights to play in spl
Best player ever to grace a scottiah football field
I personally think so
Bring on messi , Ronaldo or who ever you fancy, they still don't compare to the technique and the grace of the game, displayed by Brian Laudrup back then, even today!
what are you on?
@@pato2200 Clearly a jealous wee Celtic tit, how many celtic players have played for Ajax, Barcelona, Fiorentina and Chelsea correct none, Brian played for them all when they were all feared world class cup winning sides, sit the fuck down clown and finish your chicken supper your waffling pish ya bitter wee fudd
@@jimmybarness9455 Brian didn't play for Barcelona he played for Bayern
Don't be a daftie.
Take it easy brother
An absolute monster of a player... brilliant
Elegant world class footballer and the greatest ever Rangers player in my humble opinion.
What a player he was, legend 🏴🇬🇧💙
💙🏴🇩🇰
Brian Laudrup, what can you say about him that's not already been said. A player born 2 play football, just like his brother. Enough said.
If jou give the brésiliaan nationality at this player jou Will think : he is the best player ever...
Loved this man growing up. My fave ranger.
Great video btw 💯👌👍 Laudrup is easilly 1 of my favourite players to wear the Famous shirt what an Absolute Legend and an Absolute Gentleman 💯👌
I thought his goal v aberdeen at Ibrox woulda been on here, the mad chip flick 😲 i was down at the corner flag that day and for the life of me couldnt figure out how he scored that goal
WATP 🙌
Maradona stated after Denmark had played against Argentina, Maradona included.
Brian is the world top 3 on the run with the ball.
Not many could take the ball from, not even the Argentinas topplayers.
There a reference for this?
Well if you can dig down the history in the news papers in Denmark properly is.
Not all is on wiki.
This is what I remember quite clearly, since I do not forget that kind of statement.
Take it or leave it, just what I can recall.
I agréé. Thé 2 Laudrup âre amoung the best of the best
Fantastic player !! No better player has ever worn the famous Rangers jersey !!
Davie cooper was better fs
@@stevenkilpatrick6397 Cooper was an incredible player but in my opinion Laudrup was better .
This guy played in Scotland, he graced us with his presence
My favorite player of all time
Joy 2 watch,what a player WATP
the greatest player ever to play in scotland!!!!
so true. look at where brian played before he came to scotland - whereas larson, couldnt get a game with feyenoord, stayed with schellic a while, moved to his big pay check with barca to go back to bench warming, and selling millions of barca tops to dumb schellick fans (reason why he was bought to start wtih) and then same with man u = 3 months 2 games = 2.4 million man u tops bought, and 2.4 million new fans to buy man u products. makes sense.
+Greg Ingram Larsson was a truly world class player as is universally acknowledged especially at Barcelona and Manchester united.
he made it big in the big leagues and the champions league.
laudrup never did.
@@pato2200 he played for Bayern and AC Milan
Pat O so for arguments sake, you could say Gio Van Bronckhorst and Gattuso are both better than Larsson then?
@@viborgguys1 after larsson and hes on aboot him no laudrup
The best ever to play in Scotland.
What an unbelievable player he was best foreigner to play for rangers ever
Esse foi um jogador magnifico
True legend , simply the best . W A T P
+Ramone Heinz ok slow down. His brother was better.
+Henri M.A brian was better for the national team than Michael by a mile.
Thomas Andersen yes
My favourite teddy bear you could see the dread in the players and especially the supporters when he was bearing down on goal( forgive the pun), I nearly broke my heart when he moved to Chelsea and even Brian said his children liked Scotland so much they didn’t want to leave, when you think that such a player would come to rangers we were blessed to have him and gazza in the same team, I’d love to see him back at ibrox teaching the youth team the art of football
One of the all-time greats... Not convinced he'd be a GnR fan, though ;)
I once - ONCE - beat 3 guys and lifted a beauty over the 'keeper... And I thought, "I'll never score one that good again."
Laudrup probably thought, "I'll be back in 10 mins."
Give it up for the man... A true entertainer, a true sportsman, and we're lucky we had him at the top of his game.
gentleman footballer
world class player.
The Best Player I Have Ever Seen Play Rangers In A Rangers Jersey, He Was Just So Gifted No Wonder Is Nickname Is God I Was 2 Young 2 See Super Davie Cooper,
today's market he would be a 100+million player without a doubt
Did you know Laudrup when at Chelsea never lost a single game. In all competitions he played 11 games for Chelsea won 7 and drew 4. Should have stayed longer.
He’s a handsome bastard isn’t he...
detstroyer of rncidn bheasts from the east ,the ultimate pro, what a player , give him the ball we get a goal
He didn't score many goals
Great song choice
what a player.. what was the best ever Rangers team? Which year? For research purposes..
I don't like Rangers, never will. But Brian though... like his brother, a footballer from another planet. Wonderful footage
HE WON BEST NON SCOTTISH PLAYER TO PLAY FOR RANGERS - AND HE WAS VOTED IN THE GREATEST RANGERS TEAM EVER
king of the danes!!
Do you have any Rangers training videos of Laudrup & Gazza on taking each other....
Brian european champion played in every top european league like larsen thing in common done their talking on the pitch.
how can anyone mention Larsson in the same breath as his guy?show me him doing anything close to this
I think Laudrup is underrated. On a side note if your interested check out my Mega compilation of him
If you could put laundrup in the current gers team we would win the league easily
They where the days
that video so cool!
Made football look so easy , total pro with no ego at all
As a Celtic fan I can say Laudrup is the ONLY Rangers player I like. Can only imagine him, Larsson and Lubo in the same team.
With them 3 they would be champions league contenders and I think laudrups creativity will make larsson score even more goals
Jim Baxter, then Kenny Dalglish, then Brian Laudrup, then Henrik Larsson.
god this was ma player
The words of Donald Findlay QC-----His learned friend Lord Nimmo Smith may have declared otherwise. But to Donald Findlay the Rangers which visits Cowdenbeath on Tuesday is not the same Rangers he once served.
'It is a different club,' he tells Sportsmail bluntly. 'They may play at Ibrox and they may play sometimes in royal blue jerseys.
'But you cannot pass on that which is undefinable. And that is spirit and tradition and all the rest of it.
'To me this is a new Rangers which has to establish its own history and tradition.
But it's not the Rangers I know. To me, genuinely, it is a new entity.'
You're an obsessed cretin, to think you wasted your time coming on a Rangers video to write that makes me happy.
Such an obsessed and morbidly jealous counterpart.
+FUNKY MACE tax and moral high ground. Language Timothy!
Brian Laudrup was good though wasn't he
not really they had pretty much similar talent. Michael was a central midfielder who was much slower than brian but a genius passer, brian was a very pacey winger with superb dribbling, mind you saying that brian was also a great passer and Michael a great dribbler. Both players didn't score a lot of goals but used there skill to create openings for team mates. Brian had the better international career and Michael the better club career.
BS.. Michael was best foreign player in Spain, 1975-1999.. Several times on Pelé's Worldteam.. Only player in the World, who single handely made 5 clubs evolve and rise to better status/League. 😉
If Michael was so much better than Brian as they say how come Brian was better in every international tournament they played together?
Michael was classes better
I'd love to see the larsson best of type equivalent to this because there is no comparison, Laudrup is the far superior player! But that mob and their sponsored Scottish press always make out they were both the best players to ever come to Scotland as though there's nothing to chose between them. It's just because they don't want to say a rangers player was the greatest non Scottish player. Larssons are all just finishes mainly within the box that others set up for him. He didn't create anywhere as near the amount of goals Laudrup did for himself AND for others! And I wouldn't even say well larrson is 2nd, Its actually a debate between Laudrup and Gascoigne for who was the greatest non scot as I wouldn't class Gascoigne as a "foreigner" that's ridiculous. So maybe if you say foreigner and leave gazza out of it then perhaps you could have a case for larsson but even that's debatable. I mean he might not have been here in his prime and didn't have the longevity that larsson had but even someone like claudio caniggia who played along side Maradona as his strike partner and a goal in a world Cup semi final to help his country into the final would larrson have gotten a game ahead of him to larsson Maradona? I know who my money would be on Maradona rather having next to him! Or players like the de boers, van bronckhorst and gattuso are worthy of contention considering their quality and achievements in the game.
Because Larsson was good in Europe for Celtic, Brian was not who only scored 3 goals and 2 assists in Europe for Rangers
Had he born in Germany, Argentina, Brazil or Spain, Fifa would have rated him the best....
Fifa rated him the 5th best in 92
0:33 and he only has 29 defending on FIFA 15
Keep telling yourself that mate.
This is the video to show any Tim who claims Larsson is the greatest foreign player to play in Scotland.
could you imagian laudrup cooper de boer walters in the same team awsome
poor keeping for that free kick
Brian Laudrup

Best player to ever play in Scotland ?
I regret Laudrup sr had only two sons.
Made Davie Robertson look a player
davie robertson was shit hot so much better than tom boyd
Get Gazza up well over due
Brian was as good as Gazza n thats sayin somethin
why do celtic fans keep going on about larsson? hes not even in the top 3 of all time celtic players imo, jimmy johnston, kenny dalglish or danny mcgrain were all better players.
Brian was better for Denmark than Michael
Michael preferred the beach to international tournaments.
Only the late years
Do you know why brian played better than Michael in the international team? Because Michael had nothing to loose, he has money and fame whats the point of fighting for more? Brian no offense wasn't as popular or making as much as Michael.
that comment makes no logical sense.
That's the biggest load of shit ive ever heard ffs, stay aff the crack ya clown..
If Brian Laudrup wasn't as popular than Michael then why is it that when Brian came on the scene Michael never one Danish player of the year ever again? Why is it Brian has finished in a higher position than Michael ever did in the Fifa world player of the year awards, Beating Michael for the golden ball award when they won the confederations cup, and again outperformed him in world cup 98 and euro 96? Answer these using logic please......
Thomas Andersen there is no doubt Brian performed better in every tournament michael and Brian played in together
Thomas Andersen My point is if Michael was so much better than Brian as people claim then why did he get outperformed by Brian everytime for Denmark. It proves that Michael struggled if he didnt have top class players around him where Brian didnt.
not near as good as his brother
His brother does not think the same.
Not God
Michael was the better of the brothers.
reality check.
laudrup was very overrated in Scotland.
he shone in a poor league.
he, like many other players who were stars in Scotland in the nineties, were flops in bigger leagues.
just like van chooijdonk di canio cadete they were big names in Scotland but poor elsewhere.
laudrup failed in germany,
failed in Italy,
and failed in England.
and failed miserably in each of those leagues.
Pat O laudrup played great football in all of those leagues
+billyblackburn87
great football in England?
really?
and in the others he was out if his depth failed at Milan and Bayern and struggled to get in the Fiorentina team the year they were relegated
Pat O he played some great games for Chelsea but he attempted to get out of his contract before kicking a ball for Chelsea and made several attempts during playing which caused him to leave. Chelsea didn't want him to go which is why they still played him in the important european games just before he left. But Brian shouted loud enough to say get me out of here. He was fantastic in his first season in Germany where he won Danish player of the year beating M.laudrup at Barcelona to it. In his second season he was widely praised and this it the point where people realised that Brian would never be a heavy goal scorer though, but people praised him for his creation of goals. Probably Bayerns second best player behind effenburg. His second season was injury hit with a bad leg break where he watched from the stands as the Bayern team collapsed. He fell out with top management there as Brians big mouth got him in trouble and was sold. He finished 6th in the balon d'or in 92 for his great performances for Denmark and for his great performances for Florentina. Florentina changed there manager and after Christmas completely collapsed as a team. He was loned to Milan where he had a mixture of good/average performances but Cappello was very defensive and would rather play Desiey (however you spell him) over him, as laudrups attacking play wasn't needed. His club career is quite patchy to look at on paper mostly due to fallout at clubs because of his big mouth, and the unlucky fact that teams were poorly managed at times. He also had a good season in Holland but yet again the Ajax team was under poor management again and Brian was the only good thing about that team. He got bad injuries at the end of that season and was forced to retire.
Pat O failure in Italy? He won the champions league with Milan ffs
+Graham Mcluckie
laudrup only played nine times for Milan that season.
Milan won the champions league but without laudrup even making the bench in the final despite the Milan team being decimated by injuries and suspensions.
when did laudrup the great magician shine in Europe for rangers against decent opposition?
the laudrup myth is like the the di canon myth the Celtic fans formerly upheld-not a great player but rather one who shine against the small teams as flashy performers.
