Great vlog series! Even from my couch that early morning bus ride felt so stressful. I hate pre-race. On a positive note those "cow dung roads" are a thing, in: Winter - shit sprayed over your kit and bike; Spring - small infested zones of little flies; So these usually are the parts where we hold breath and either ride carefully slow(wet) or sub-MAX power through it(flies zone).
Hello mate, great video, we met on the transfer coach from Bordeaux. You've really captured the essence of the HR, no idea how you had the energy to film as well as race!
Wow! So it looks like to stay with the front group at the start need over 5w/kg! Ouch! Man, I so know that feeling towards the end there, so great you kept your 2nd spot to the finish. Nothing worse than going from 300w's to a max of 210w's on the climbs(my wattages) and having seemingly 100's pass you in mass start races. So demoralising! U obviously had a good gap and those behind were feeling it too. Those descents were sketchy as! Glad you made it down in one piece :)

I remember last you were filming some chitchat with your colleagues form Netherlands before the actual race, etc., but now you seemed to be really really focused. Great effort Jasper, using the bunch on the flat was your master move, then big watts up the climb, very epic. You might think you're heavy for the route but you're the true all rounder with smarts on how best to use what you got. Those skinny guy wish they had the Verkuijl power plant.😀 Ultimately you have a great experience. - win. The logistics look like a real challenge you would ideally plan an event that was close to carbon neutral as possible i.e not busing cyclists to the mountain 🤦♂
