- This famous poem by Lord Byron extols the beauty of women. It praises the feminine charm, i.e. "tender light" of the woman's glowing features, eloquence, and innocent heart. In Byron's case, the woman's charming appearance is exceeded by her inner beauty, making her his ideal woman.
Music: Requiem In Cello - Hanu Dixit
She Walks in Beauty by LORD BYRON
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

I love the way that poems take on a new character depending on who is reciting them. Well done Loki 🙂
I turned it into a song: ruclips.net/video/2CoVvwzY7t8/видео.html

What is your country name
Yes, Yes, A thousand times Yes!! This is one of my favorite poems read by one of my favorite actors!
First time hearing Lord Byron's poetry. I'm in love. With him, with Tom Hiddleston, with whatever man would say that poem to me.
But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief,
That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she...
Only beauty, peace and kindness can save this world from density and low vibrations...☆♡☆
This poem always reminds me of the love of my life.
Is thank you Tom Hiddleston for helping me remember poetry

One of my dearest Poems, wonderful English romanticism
She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent.

Your voice is so deep and relaxing 🪐
Raven tress..
Even though the girl on the video is blonde..
What a poem!!! Byron rocks
Why this dont have way more views??
most people can't understand or don't know who byron is, and because the earlier romantic writers have been supplanted by gelatinous victorian fluff.
One of my fa favorites.
My students Will love that!
Beautiful
Loki shall read this to Sylvie 😌
Ija students who were sent to memorize thi poem its me jason
🌹
I came here from Oompavilles video to say that id recognize Toms voice anyway 😂😂😂
What an amazing voice! Is there a version without the music?
Loki could emphasize rhymes (tempo) better so that we can feel them.
Loki episode 4 was dope
Every episode is dope
"raven tress" why is the woman in the video blonde then
Where is the imagined vision of Byron?
The Video

Loved his reading. One minor thing, perhaps whoever did the video should listen to the poem….raven locks, not dishwater blonde.
Why do people always add echos to the voice over. It kinda makes it have to focus on the poem
I think he reads this much, much too quickly which is a pity why rush something which is so very beautiful
Anyone here Bc they have to memorize this poem for school AND HAVE TO SAY IT INFORNT OFF THE WHOLE CLASS
what is an o'er ?
This is about a girl with raven tresses (hair). Why do people always equate this poem with a blonde? 🤔
Byron destroys any rapper...
Raven tress??
Was this about Lord Byron's sister?
No.
Good reading, but what is up with the echo effect? That really was not needed and was just distracting
Why he read so fast the poem not be readen like that
who came here for martian cronicles

Great and all but nothing can match Peter O'Toole's recitations.
DREADFUL choice of videos... Using those from "gaudy day"...
