Ive flown on 4 747-400 flights with United. Over to Asia and back. Back when it was the dark blue and dark grey livery. What an amazing plane. They were the best trips I've ever taken on an airliner.
I have been blessed with a truly wonderful life spending just over 40 years flying all sorts of Boeing aircraft for South African Airways and also in Singapore. The 747 is not just a plane. it has a soul which talks to you through the seat of your pants and in your fingertips. As gentle as any aircraft can be , there is no equal. Such a sad day when the last 747-400 takes its load of passengers on its last ever commercial flight I retired 12 years ago after a fantastic career. God bless the 747 Queen of the skies .
As a flight attendant for 34 years I was so lucky to have flown on the 747 plane ✈️ for 27 years it was amazing such a beautiful plane she will be missed I recently retired
the only 747 that we have in morocco is now retired this last month the famous CN-RGA 747-400 bought in 1994 and now grounded it is unbeliavable that the modern 747-400 will be retired and scrapped just sad now only KLM luthansa and british airways still operates the 747-400 but for no longer time 747 is fuel efficient but it is the next actual victim of the oil mafia rising price
I'm really sad about the massive retirement of most 747s in several airlines...I'm from Argentina, I'm a huge fan of this aviation masterpiece...and I still enjoy to fly in this aircraft thanks to Lufthansa and its 747-8...
Interesting fact: In January of 1988, a United 747SP-21 N147UA flew around the world and back SEA-ATH-TPE-SEA in 36 hours and 54 minutes at 624mph and a distance of 23,125 miles, breaking the previous record of 45 hours that was set by a Gulfstream III. This flight, flown by the great Clay Lacy, was named "Friendship One" and raised $500,000 for charities.
+Hermann Goering Givin the fact that you did not see the need for Germany to have a 4 engine heavy heavy bomber. That sounds pretty funny coming from you fat Hermann.
Next evolutionary step in air travel, passenger carrying V2 rockets! The passengers eject in a big parachute right before the non-warhead rocket impacts. Frankfurt-London in 5 minutes.
The United Queen of the Skies was definitely getting very dated toward her end, but she was certainly a gorgeous plane, and I'm grateful to have flown her over the skies of my foreign hometowns, Seoul and London. It also made it fitting that the last international United 747 flew to/from Seoul - I so wished to be on that final flight myself.
When I returned from Italy on January 14, 1970...having flown on Pan American...as we exited customs to the main floor at Kennedy Airport...there was a huge photo of Pan Americans 747 for passengers to see....it went into service one week later on the 21st of January......little did we know the fantastic journey that was just beginning
I worked the 747SP - 747100 - 747200 & THE 747400 during my career as a flight attendant with United. I worked the CRAF flights (bringing military) during Desert Shield, Desert Storm & Iraq. Many memories of the gallant lady know as the "747".
Did United consider the 747-800,with its technical advances instead of just chucking the entire Queen of the Skies out the back door? Seems money is their only consideration...Delta also.
It’s November 7 today and it’s United’s last 747 flight from San Francisco to Honolulu that’s really sad because I flew United 747 from Chicago to Beijing
893/892 SFO-ICN ICN-SFO was indeed the last international flight of the 747-400. Since she as the backbone of Pan-Am's and United's transpacific networks for decades, I would say that was really the lats flight in some respects.

I’ve flown in the Boeing 747 so many times as a kid.

So sad! Such wonderful memories! The most thrilling moment of my life was sending a lower galley elevator down on a 747-200.

THANK YOU DUDE!!! I WILL REALLY MISS YOU ; ((((

This plane just didn't carry over 5 billion passengers. It also changed the way of flying. Farewell to the United Airlines Boeing 747 - 400
+Hermann Goering Givin the fact that you did not see the need for Germany to have a 4 engine heavy heavy bomber. That sounds pretty funny coming from you fat Hermann.
yes i have ate 1 Boeing 747-400 and it tasted like candy. It was from Lufthansa btw.

Beautiful giants of the skies! Sadly end of a great era and I wish I got to fly in one😀
Same

If you have never taken a trip on a 747, you don't know what you missed

An engineering marvel vanishing from the skies
Tremendous Video..!
one year. Long live the queen!
The thumbnail pic for this video is the best paint scheme for the 747 and United. I wish they'd bring it back.
The 747 leaped United forward from a domestic airline into a global airline that it is today

First Suite was awesome, even more so with the Polaris updates. Still look forward to a chance to fly the new Polaris seats on the 777/787.
I saw it fly over Belize Nov.25 .2021 2:05 p.m.VERY LOW DUDES!!!!
now we would never EVER see US Carries operating the 747 anymore

United Boeing 747 Vaya Con Dios.
rip 747
at least people haven't got rid of the -8
Ugh-- it kills me that all I've ever wanted to do is fly on a 747 -- & may never be able to. :(
You can definitely still do so if you're willing to fly a foreign carrier. BA, for instance, still has 36 of them.
可惜沒能在鬱金香標誌下退役😭😭😭
