Im a huge fan of most Disney coasters and this is no exception. Its super smooth and long and the drop and following turn is super intense, along with the backwards section
I think Disney and Vekoma made a great solid ride. Vekoma does have a great relationship with Disney for making rides, and this is one of them that is amazing to just look, and also ride with the whole family. Vekoma really did bring what Disney wanted.
I’m one that always loves thrill coasters, but this is an unbelievable ride. So much detail, stunning theming and a smooth and thrilling ride experience that everyone will love. Best coaster at Disney as in my top 20
The ride was cooler when it first opened, you may have noticed the yeti doesn’t move and has strobe lights and fans as a cheesy effects but it used to operate and it was really terrifying when it did but due to complications with it’s support structure they had to shut it down within a year of the ride being open
This is the coaster that made me want to ride after being timid for 36 years lol. I loved rockin roller coaster as well. Space Mountain was too jerky for my neck but I can appreciate why people love it. Just wish they’d update the queue. Disney is the master of theming but there is just nothing to see or do in that line. Excited to ride everything at SDC and Dollywood this year!
I would give 10 to theming 6 for thrilling, average 8, just like you did, but my favorite ride at Disney world still is the Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Although it doesn't have the same theming, at least it has a very worth thrilling.
This and Rock N Rollercoaser are my favorite. I remember riding this for the first time when I was ten and loved it. Both had me screaming with excitement. Definitely one of my favorite rides at DisneyWorld
If you look at the top of the lift hill you can see epcot from up there. When I was younger and I went on this ride, I saw it all the time it's a pretty nice view up there.
When I was there, the yeti animatronic worked! I love huge thrill coasters, but expedition Everest was just as good as many in its own way. I would rate it a 10 because it was very enjoyable and perfect for the family
DiD yOu KnOw VeKoMa HaS dIsCoNtInUeD tHe SlC, rIgHt? That wasn't even a joke. Vekoma has legitimately discontinued their worst model yet. Could it be a sign that they're putting their past behind them?
The backwards helix on Everest is the single most intense moment of any coaster i've ever ridden, and i've ridden over 500 coasters. The negative g's are insane. Totally unexpected on what is a relatively tame ride (other than that).
As a ride nerd and an animatronic enthusiast, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen is that yeti in motion. I just hope they’ll bother to fix it one of these days.
Good review! I rode this back in December 2009 and I honestly wasn't expecting that drop! Caught me by surprise. I also got a "I Conquered Expedition Everest" badge on the day I rode it. While I don't consider this my favorite Disney coaster, it's still pretty good. I would prefer Rock n' Roller Coaster because it has great theming and is the smoothest Vekoma coaster I've ridden.
I was 8 when I rode this coaster which got me into coasters. When I saw that broken track I thought we were actually going to fly off (I was 8) and after that drop I grayed out in the helix it was probably one of the best moments of my life.
i had to wait two hours for this ride when it was new but that queue was so fun in and of itself especially as a Bigfoot enthusiast, that i didnt mind it! i think that the line theming really built up the experience and enhanced it. my favorite ride in the park!
It would be really hard to get footage of the ride indoors, he'd have to ask Disney if they could turn the lights on so he could shoot some offride footage of the ride.
Another great review! I was fortunate to ride it once when i visited back in 2016 and I can agree with everything you said Taylor! Its a fun ride but its perfect!
I rode this when I was little and it was awesome I would rate the theming 10, the ride time 9, speed 10, and drop 8 but still I love Rock n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror but this is one of my top 5 favorite Disney rides .
I love the details that imagineers put into attractions. They have to have the coolest job in the world! They don't just write a story and build a ride, they get to create a world for people to explore and experience!
Aleluia! I was waiting fot this so bad, I cant wait to take watch tor rock 'n roller coaster review! I took my parents to this coaster they almost had a heart attack. Lol
I agree the themeing is good and the ride had great music it is just not as intense compared to most rides I have been on Rock n Roller Coaster's Speed: 70-80 Kingda Ka's Speed: 128
We went to Disney back in December and I rode this ride 5 times twice in the front and 3 times in the back and the back at night was the best ride I’ve ever had on that ride that and pandora are my favorite rides at Disney
I prefer BTMR at Magic Kingdom. This ride is quite overhyped in terms of the coaster experience. I noticed roughness during the backwards section, and is lacking in any airtime, something that rides like Th13teen at Alton Towers, BTMR and Space Mountain do have, and is a major reason I consider them as the perfect family coaster. At least Th13teen is silky smooth throughout its forward and backwards sections, and I mean Cobra's Curse levels of smooth, AND THAT'S NEW!
I wouldn't say it's rough during the backwards portion. I rode it a week ago, and I thought it was more just really forceful than rough. Maybe that's just me, though.
Hey Taylor did you know that this was the most expensive roller coaster ever built? It cost a whopping 100 million dollars to build, because of the gigantic mountain. Think of all the rides like Fury or Kingda. This cost over 3 times the amount of those ones.
This is my favorite ride at Disney too. I agree that is is more of a family ride but still a thrill ride in its own way. I would give the theme (out of ten) a 11.5 and I would give the thrill a 6.9
This is a cool ride to watch. I would like to ride with you, Taylor. Front seat for the broken track and Yeti, or the back seat for more force in the drop? Your choice. I probably won't be going anytime soon, but I'd love to catch a ride with you! :)
I have ridden this coaster and let me tell you I loved it more than California screamin I think expedition Everest does a fantastic ride and such a good theme I mean I’ve ridden this coaster 4 times and I absolutely loved it
I'm satisfied with this review. Everest is my favorite coaster of all time so I twitched at the negatives, despite actually agreeing with them, although the G-Force you feel on the backwards portion and main drop are pretty intense, especially for Disney.
Let’s all agree that it isn’t the most thrilling coaster but it’s an amazing Disney coaster. Disney isn’t about thrills. It’s about immersion. Your fantasy becoming a reality. Living the story. It isn’t a six flags park. If I want to ride a super thrilling coaster, I will go to six flags. For a magical experience, I will ride the Disney coasters. Thunder mountain is tame to most but it’s the story that makes the attraction so darn interesting and entertaining.
Vekomas best attributes are their reliability and willingness to work with parks. Disney chooses them for most of their coasters because with companies like B&M and Intamin a lot of parks report them as uncooperative and unreliable with service.
I’m off to Disney in august and was super nervous for this ride but this video and comments has helped calm me down a bit! Still nervous for the backwards bit! Can anyone explain what happens during that bit? Is it a straight drop or?
Ian Manz an Incredible Hulk review is already available on my channel. Rock n rollercoaster is currently not at the top of my list for rides to review, but i'm sure i'll get there eventually
I personally found Everest to be pretty shaky at the bottom of the main drop and found this ride to be forceless. It’s definitely more intimidating looking at it from the ground than on the ride.
As far as I know, the only Disney coasters that weren't built by Vekoma are the Matterhorn Bobsleds, California Screamin'/Incredicoaster, the Indiana Jones minecart ride and the spinning coaster at Animal Kingdom. Vekoma may mainly be known for SLCs and Boomerangs, but their custom mine trains and LSM launched coasters are a complete 180 from that, and their Flying Dutchman (apart from Nighthawk, which badly needs new trains) and Invertigo models aren't that bad either. Oh, and Vekoma is the European distributor and installer for RMC.
+VestedUTuber Disneyland's Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain, Crush's Coaster in Paris, and Raging Spirits in Tokyo weren't manufactured by Vekoma, either.
Samantha Ross I would reccomend looking at Vekoma's newest things like the Shockwave, Formula One, Bermuda Blitz, and Firestorm. They recently made Lech coaster, which can be one of the greatest coasters in Europe.
I just went on this ride for the first time yesterday. I'd say the best way to experience it.....bring someone who knows nothing about it. Just let them ride it without any warnings.
I remember this ride when I was like... 10? Holy Jesus when I was 10 I would rather starve for a day (or two) than ride a roller coaster. This ride was so terrifying for me, haha. I haven't ridden it since, but I would love to ride it again to see it from my new perspective: a roller coaster lover. I had my eyes closed 99% of the time on this ride when I was 10. it was kinda sad how scared i was of this coaster
Same with me! I went on this when I was 11 I was scared to death and I didn't want to ride it. But this was the ride that turned me into a coaster enthusiast.
This is the problem with Florida. Yeah it's the theme park capital of the world, but theres very few good rollercoasters. I mean, yeah, Everest is okay, rock'n'roller coaster is fun, and others at Disney, pretty much every ride at both sea world and Busch gardens are fun, but that's about it. Maybe, 12 coasters that I want to wait the insane line for out of the 4 Disney parks, 2 universal parks and the Busch gardens and sea world parks. A good amusement park company just needs to get their hands on a park in Florida. I love theming as much as the next guy, but whenever that's the center point of ALL of the rides I have access to, it gets old.
Front row is great when going in reverse through the helix. Back is better for everything else. I think it's an excellent ride. Definitely not super thrilling, but actually pulled more g's than I thought it would. Pretty wild too. Me and my gf got some bruises from it. Only other roller coaster to do that to me is old school ghost rider at knotts and kumba at busch gardens
Expedition Everest is a GREAT coaster, not Maverick good, but still amazing
Why do you think Disney would want to challenge maverick it’s disney
Taylor: everything by Vekoma sucks
Also Taylor:
He literally never said that. Just in parodies
This ride was one of Vekoma's first steps to becoming the manufacturer I wish more people knew and loved, today.
hahahahahahahahaha
**laughs back in Lech Coaster, Formula 1, Firestorm, Shockwave, Skydash and Suspended Thrill Coaster (SLC 2.0)**
I’m one that always loves thrill coasters, but this is an unbelievable ride. So much detail, stunning theming and a smooth and thrilling ride experience that everyone will love. Best coaster at Disney as in my top 20
You read my mind
Preach! I’ve ridden this thing so many times!
The ride was cooler when it first opened, you may have noticed the yeti doesn’t move and has strobe lights and fans as a cheesy effects but it used to operate and it was really terrifying when it did but due to complications with it’s support structure they had to shut it down within a year of the ride being open
I like the footage. The scenery looks great.
This is one of my favorite Vekomas, it’s up there with Rock n Roller Coaster
It's an absolute shame that they could never get the yeti to work properly without literally ripping the mountain apart, still a classic nevertheless
I really appreciate how they conceal those block sections and brakes!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster does have theming, plus you get to jam out to Aerosmith the whole time!
Vamos Falar de Cavalos? Better than the haunted mansion?!
2nd favorite vekoma! The Bermuda blitz model is first!
This ride is just FUN
When I was there, the yeti animatronic worked! I love huge thrill coasters, but expedition Everest was just as good as many in its own way. I would rate it a 10 because it was very enjoyable and perfect for the family
vEkOmA bAd
hahahahhahha still so funny, original, and not overused at all!
Not to mention not _outdated_ at all. :P
Did you know SLCs are rough? XDDDDDDD i'M sO fUnNy!
GFBIGFAN nice one
DiD yOu KnOw VeKoMa HaS dIsCoNtInUeD tHe SlC, rIgHt?
That wasn't even a joke. Vekoma has legitimately discontinued their worst model yet. Could it be a sign that they're putting their past behind them?
Leonardo Bruzzone no they didn't? Roller Coaster Mayan at Energylandia opened in 2015 as a new coaster. This is arguably the best and smoothest SLC.
The backwards helix on Everest is the single most intense moment of any coaster i've ever ridden, and i've ridden over 500 coasters. The negative g's are insane. Totally unexpected on what is a relatively tame ride (other than that).
The indoor and outdoor helices are actually super intense. Solid 9/10 in my book
Some news from europe: Walibi Holland is gonna make Robin Hood ( a vekoma eooden coaster ) to a RMC!
Expedition Everest is the best ride in WDW, it is one of the best family coasters of all time!
I agree.

Can you do rockin rollercoaster, maybe a parody. At Hollywood studios
It would be really hard to get footage of the ride indoors, he'd have to ask Disney if they could turn the lights on so he could shoot some offride footage of the ride.
@@jtbackup4553 he could just use footage from xpress: platform 13 (a clone)
One of my favorite coasters
Another great review! I was fortunate to ride it once when i visited back in 2016 and I can agree with everything you said Taylor! Its a fun ride but its perfect!
I rode this when I was little and it was awesome I would rate the theming 10, the ride time 9, speed 10, and drop 8 but still I love Rock n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror but this is one of my top 5 favorite Disney rides .
Good review. I have ridden this one and your review is bang on. Great ride.
Rode it in the very back, the drop gave ejector air, I was very, very pleasantly surprised. Fantastic ride.
Lol
That ride is nothing if you have been on Kingda Ka like me and that ride is fast at the beginning and it gets way to slow closer to the end
Rock n Roller coaster is still a pretty great ride. The theming is fantastic and the ride expirence is also nice with the on board audio and layout.
I agree the themeing is good and the ride had great music it is just not as intense compared to most rides I have been on
Rock n Roller Coaster's Speed: 70-80
Kingda Ka's Speed: 128
rock n roller coaster goes about 50 mph
Still shows my point
That slow section at the beginning where there is just a bunch of turns is supposed to simulate the long journey up the mountain
Taylor, buddy, this is Disney. Theming is everything. The fact that you get a good coaster out of it is secondary. You go to Disney for theming.
We went to Disney back in December and I rode this ride 5 times twice in the front and 3 times in the back and the back at night was the best ride I’ve ever had on that ride that and pandora are my favorite rides at Disney
One of my first coasters
My favorite Disney coaster (and #4 coaster overall!) to be fair I only have 41 credits, but this thing just always leaves me with a smile on my face!
Vin B. Also their design team had to spend like 6 years in Nepal for the theming.
Love this coaster
This is an awesome ride. But it’s my second favorite at Disney because nothing beats big thunder mountain at night.
I have ridden this coaster and let me tell you I loved it more than California screamin I think expedition Everest does a fantastic ride and such a good theme I mean I’ve ridden this coaster 4 times and I absolutely loved it
"Best coaster form disney"
from someone who thinks vekoma sucks
Larsy 2703 it's a good vekoma
That's because right now Disney World doesn't have many good coasters.
+Kw6sTheater It's because Vekoma makes good rides for Disney.
Every coaster at WDW is good for the market it caters too
Why does everyone think im a GP. it was just a joke
K
I'm satisfied with this review. Everest is my favorite coaster of all time so I twitched at the negatives, despite actually agreeing with them, although the G-Force you feel on the backwards portion and main drop are pretty intense, especially for Disney.
It was my 100th coaster so I love this ride!
everyone forgets about that second drop into the mountain before the helix, that’s probably my favorite part of the ride
Perfect timing! I'm going to Disney World tomorrow lol
Let’s all agree that it isn’t the most thrilling coaster but it’s an amazing Disney coaster. Disney isn’t about thrills. It’s about immersion. Your fantasy becoming a reality. Living the story. Just rode this Thursday and I totally agree that it's the best at Disney
Vekomas best attributes are their reliability and willingness to work with parks.
Disney chooses them for most of their coasters because with companies like B&M and Intamin a lot of parks report them as uncooperative and unreliable with service.
I got a night ride on this and it was amazing
My favorite coaster.
Awesome ride, I also don't find it tame. I think it is as intense as a b&m invert or floorless
I feel like it’s actually very thrilling as the drop makes you think it’s higher so it feels very intense
Hey can you do a review on Dinosaur at Disney's Animal Kingdom?
Do u prefer it as rock 'n roller coaster?????
I’m off to Disney in august and was super nervous for this ride but this video and comments has helped calm me down a bit! Still nervous for the backwards bit! Can anyone explain what happens during that bit? Is it a straight drop or?
@Coaster Studios Are you sure that rockn roller coaster isn't more intense?
taylor will there be a rockin roller coaster review and an incredible hulk review also
Ian Manz an Incredible Hulk review is already available on my channel. Rock n rollercoaster is currently not at the top of my list for rides to review, but i'm sure i'll get there eventually
Here's to hoping they are able to fix the Yeti AA eventually.
Haven’t been on it in years. Did they take the actual animatronic yeti out for the projected yeti?
I’m excited to see what you think of it 😂
Can u do a review on Storm Runner at Hersheypark next
Can you do a tower of terror review at Disney Hollywood studios
This is a vekoma. And you are positive? Mr vekoma is proud of you
What happens during the backwards part? Turns, a helix, an inversion?
I love exposition Everest theming
You liked it just as much as Sheikra?
That's a pertty good score for a Vekoma
#2 at Disney for me. #1 is Space Mountain
As a coaster enthusiast, I think this ride has so much potential to be better
It’s more of an experience ride than a thrill ride! The theming makes it!
I went on this knowing it was a vekoma so I braced myself... it was surprisingly smooth
I personally found Everest to be pretty shaky at the bottom of the main drop and found this ride to be forceless. It’s definitely more intimidating looking at it from the ground than on the ride.
I did the single rider line and rode it 3 times lol
By far the best ride Disney has ever built.
Yayyyyy! A finally good vakoma that didn't give you a va-COMA!
One problem I have with the ride is that it's rough. It's was very vibrational and a little bumpy and it put an uncomfortable sensation in my throat.
Yo what happened to your Apollo’s chariot review did you delete it
my mom is a coward when it comes to roller coasters. We made her ride this and it produced one of te funniest ride photos we've had.
Wait a minute, Vekoma actually made a good ride? I had no idea this was manufactured by them
a lot of disney rides are by vekoma like rock 'n roller coaster
Jarman97 and Flounders Flying Fish, which is the only Disney ride made by TOGO.
All the fast pass for the new avatar ride were booked so I waited 5 hours on the line and when I got out, it was 4:00
It's also the most expensive roller coaster ever built (>100mil$)
Can you do a rock n roller coaster review
1:24 ...except for the fact that Disney play the backwards section on all of the queue tv's
I went on this so many times the other day :P I did get stuck in the mountain though lol
Can you do Rock N Rollercoaster
I remember when the yeti worked.
Favorite part was the disco yeti
Do you think Tron will be better than this once it opens?
Most likely and btw I like your RUclips name XD
+Zombie Hunter true but I am not traveling to Shanghai just for a coaster that will come out right near me in a year
I was disappointed by it. I thought it would be a bit more thrilling but you get more of an out-of-control speed sense on the Matterhorn.
Cool 😎👍
So we aren't gonna talk about the giant robo yeti?
what a meme
