Of SEGA/Gremlin's 5 XY Vector games, "Space Fury" was the hardest & gave you the least amount of bang for your buck. But for some reason, it outlasted the other 4 games that came after it..."Eliminator" "Zektor" "Tac/Scan" "Star Trek". Unless you were really good at this game, you would never hear the alien tell you that... "You were an outstanding opponent". LOL
Just wanted to say you are the man. Please keep up the video posts these are fun to come home to and watch. Hope to own an arcade similar to yours in the future!
I really enjoy the Funspot videos and would enjoy seeing more. Since it will be a while until I get to visit Funspot, this is a great substitute. Thanks for posting them.
+dashiefan3247 Yes, but his eye would not move & the shape of his brain & chin was slightly different. It was not easy getting to that 8th level. Not even when the game was set for easy mode. LOL
dashiefan3247 LOL, I never get tired of hearing the robots tell me I won't reclaim each city. My current score is 277,800 points. I am determined to get over 300,000 points before the end of 2016. That is one of my New Year resolutions. LOL
OMG.....I doubt I will ever get anything even remotely close to that score. I'm just not that good at "Space Fury". I seem to be very good at "Tac/Scan" "Eliminator" "Zektor". So I can't ex[plain why "Space Fury" seems to be so difficult for me. LOL
Thanks John,,,Love the format,,, love watching game reviews. I remember that game.More of a Asteroids fan!!! But a talking vector game; thought it was kool ,still do!!! Haven't seen that one in a LONG time...
I remember reading about this when I was a kid, but I had never seen the arcade version until now. A couple of years after reading about it, I did manage to get the home port though.
Yes,another video, what a treat :) I have this game on the vectrex. Never played the arcade original though. I don't think it was very common. Or at least it wasn't over here in Europe
yeah keep the reviews from Fun Spot going, they rock! I would change it up, do a classic then a more recent game and just jump around the whole place to keep it interesting. Awesome channel you got going!
Love the Fun Spot vids! I'm sitting in my home arcade in Michigan and wishing I had a Fun Spot to go to. Although I do Have Klassic Arcade over here in Michigan. It's pretty good. I'm a pinball guy more than anything.
Ya man, I really enjoy the Funspot vids. Its pretty cool to actually see the place after hearin about it on VGO for so long. Also im disappointed matt was made a host. It was an entertaining show dynamic seeing how long you could make him grovel and beg to be made an offical host, altho a yr and half was a pretty good run haha.
That arcade is amazing, I'm sure I could spend all day in that place, especially the upstairs area. Unfortunately my chance of ever being within 500 miles of it's location is quite low. The visual you get when walking into that arcade is pretty bland and uninspiring, they really ought to improve the entrance somehow. If nothing else, the cabinet facing the entrance with it's side art exposed should preferably be a game that actually has side art.
Different games, different countries, on different platforms. Many of these games were released over in Asia before here. I had this on Coleco in 1983 when I was around 4 or 5, my first game. This and Donkey Kong, I was hooked.
This was mine, I sold it and it ended up in Funspot, I was told it was donated to the arcade. I had such sellers regret....
I did mention that in the beginning! I said "This game has a reputation for catching on fire!"

If Fun Spot was by my house when I was a kid, I'd never go home.
The fact Sega went from this to The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog in 40 years LMAO
Since seeing this video this gem has become one of my favorite arcade games
This guy wasnt even born when this game came out..
The alien commander remind me of Brainiac (pre-crisis)..
John,
Your videos are awesome! It's really nice to see another arcade enthusiast, and I love watching your videos!
Thanks for making these,
Dylan

Love that game, hard to find, even back in the 80's.
You'd think they would put a game with actual side art in that particular spot instead of an ugly space fury cabinet, Game itself seems decent tho.
Love the game stop reviews. Do more if you can! Do more of the rare titles like fantasy, the pit, lost tomb and stuff like that!
I loved it. My all-time favorite game ever.
Love the Fun Spot videos. Please keep making them.

this game is addicting, I love the weird alien art. they could have put some art of the ship and docking on the sides.
I love the Funspot videos. I hope to make the trip there eventually.

Why did you leave so fast?
1983? Wasn't Space Fury released in _1981?_
