A nice tour of Cockermouth, we were pleasantly surprised by the town when we visited last year! Cheers, Simon👍
Yes it is certainly a town we will visit again next month.😀
I like old tins too. I have a find memory of the words I needed to learn, being written on pieces of card and sent home in tabaco tins. I loved the smell when I opened it
Aww. Yes the smell of an old tobacco tin is one of my old memories too
I had to break your video up because of an appointment in the morning. I got back and had just settled in for the remaining 20 minutes and... the video was over, all too soon. Just goes to show how good your videos are. I love the lamenated list of books. Brilliant idea. I do admit to feeling a bit let down with the "market". But I guess they can't all be spectacular affairs. Non the less, a loverly stroll through an interesting town. Thank you my friends, Cheers!
Thanks Micky. Your support of our channel doesn't go unappreciated. We really look forward to your comments. We feature another market later in the series which is a much better one.
Hope you both have a good weekend. Take care and thankyou.
@@CampervanTales I can not come up with an adequate description of how your videos make me feel. It’s like going home to a really good cup of tea, warm and satisfying. So, thank you both for bringing all of us on your adventures. Cheers my friends!
Nice painted stones.
There were a lot of them
I like the sheep dish you picked too
Nice isn't it
Hi ladds interesting antiques in the shop drove past Cockermouth a few times on way to allonby ,the flood was very bad remember that
Have you been to maryport nice there
Take care ladds and trio
Thanks Terry. Yes the floods were bad, we remember them on the news at the time. We were in Maryport a few months ago. The video is called Maryport Aquarium.
Hope you have a good weekend.
3 more for the collection!
Yep, and more since😁
Really interesting video guys, so many bits of info, never heard of Richard
Bourke, Earl Mayo, briefly looked him up, not a nice end, ☹️. Felt like I was with you looking round the shops, finished so quickly, can't wait for next visit. Thank you really enjoyable x
We hadn't heard of him either. Most definitely not the nicest of endings for him. We don't do enough walk throughs of towns. We must do more. Glad you liked it and were able to have a wander with us.😁
Very wise to carry a list of books still to get. We had that when we collected all Brendans old Beano annuals
It does help to have our glasses with us though so that we can read the list🤣👓
@@CampervanTales always useful
Very nice little town, I also love looking for old tins and bits, loved this xx
Yes we like old tins and old wooden boxes too xx
@@CampervanTales I would love to find an old hope chest someday :o) xx
@@Victoria2cupsadayVlogger that would be a find😀
Always driven past it like you never been there - good to see the book collection is growing ….. you must visit Hay on Wye when you are down that way as the place had a history of books and there are at least 10 old bookshops one being massive.
Hay is on our list of places, though it would cost us a fortune if Keith saw the books he wanted😀
We were impressed with Cockermouth. The ironmongers in thenext video was fascinating inside.
Lots of places did not get through lockdown. But hopefully high streets can be rejuvenated
We would love to open. Another honey shop, but rents and business rates are way too high.
A statue to Mayo.... I like Mayo on my pizza 😆
Mayo mixed with brown sauce is nice
Mue's had nice looking breads. I wondered about the origin of the town name. Named after a popular lady or lad who always had a cockinmouth? Alas it was something much more boring. named because it is at the confluence of the River Cocker as it flows into the River Derwent.
It is a really nice town with some good independent shops. We have driven through so many times and not stopped. The next video is when we go in to the ironmongers and that had some interesting stuff in it
Strange floor map 😆
Think you would like Cockernouth. It is full of quirky shops
@@CampervanTales I'm sure I would!
Bag vacumes. I remember them..... just
We still have one, and we actually have to put it in gear to use it.
@@CampervanTales like driving
Daryl was RIGHT??? Blue plaque needed.... "In this place, in 2022, Daryl was RIGHT" 😆
I am always right🤣
I too have made the mistake of having William Wordsworth married to his sister in a video. 🤣 At least you realised while filming. I had to include a pinned post to apologise.🤭His wife was Mary. I still haven’t visited that iron mongers, despite you telling me months ago. I must get round to it.
Glad we aren't the only ones. We look back at some videos and realise we got a few facts wrong. The next video is the ironmongers so it will give you a taste of what to expect.
Have a good weekend.😀
So many tongue in cheek quips here lol
Lol, us🤣
Someone change that awful name !!!!!
