It was just after half time & my mate was still at the bar fetching my Guinness - I was in the corner of the stand immediately behind where Ashton started his run. I have never experienced such a tribal testosterone & adrenaline fueled rush in my whole life - anytime I want to feel that again I just come back here and watch this clip.
The turn over was beautiful, Young's dummy was superb, Lawe's offload and tying up two Australian players giving Ashton room was exquisite and Ashton's well-timed sprint was magnificent. Four world-class moments in a row to set up a truly epic try.
There really is nothing quite like the roar of Twickenham. Hopefully we hear it plenty over the course of this year's autumn internationals. Big series boy's, lets do this!!
England's best winger by far yet he has been completely wasted by England during his prime years. I still don't get how he has not been selected all these years.
I know this comments two years old but our best winger? Nah. Best try scorer maybe, but the winger's game is about so much more than that now. A good winger has to be able to tackle like a forward, kick like a fly half and provide a second fullback when on defense. Ashton cant kick to save his life, and his tackling game is poor. A good player to have on the bench if you need a try, but starting over May, Watson, Cockinasinga? Nah
Only been to Twickenham 4 or 5 times...so lucky to be right behind this as Ashton set off. Never heard a roar like it. It was 2.minutes into 2nd half & my friend was still getting the Guinness in. I felt really bad for him when he finally came back to the stand ... i knew what i had just watched was epic in nature.
Nice knowing that 2 of the most electric converts from league to union in Ashton & Jason Robinson both came from Wigan Rugby league, Ashton is a Wiganer & Jason is from Yorkshire but he's as Wigan as you can get, we claimed him. I like both codes, I love league, I had to grow to like union, I've seen some brilliant union games but I genuinely believe league is more exciting by far.
As an English supporter, I love this, but I remember watching NZ back in the 90s and early 2000s, and they got 2 tries like this against us....per game.
I was sat in row 1 in the corner where play broke down and Chris Ashton sprinted away - we were jumping up and down before he crossed the Aussie try line :-)
Amazing Try!... Coming right in and burning Drew Mitchell who was no slouch for speed. Bit of a stretch to say it was is 94m though? Looks closer to 88m? Taking nothing away from it though either.
Pity he's just got a very harsh ban - he did not gouge the opponent's eyes just made contact with his face. I hope the appeal reduces the length. Real eye gouging is when someone deliberately puts their fingers in your eyes and digs them in.
I like to drop in and watch this try again now and then!
Same here
Me too

LOL, as an Aussie I remember watching this and thinking, "We're in good shape here!"

Yup. For the reasons you stated, it's absolutely no surprise that this won try of the year in 2010

I don't even know how many times I must have watched this video, but still get goosebumps each time! and love the commentary too, so good!
I love watching this try... and I'm Irish. Absolutely class.
He's been Englands greatest finisher in the last decade that's been left out in the cold😏
Never seen a finished try like it ever, awesome to watch ,amazing player
Not just ashton who was brilliant but ben youngs step and lawes off-load made it even better
I come back every so often to re watch this try. It’s so great!

Un des plus bel essai que j'ai vu en direct. Le changement d'appui et la reacceleration sont terribles et en plus au milieu des poteaux . Ca pique !
Why watch porn when you can just watch this video over and over again?
Fantastic try what a run,and great celebration from Chris 👍😀

Ashton is such a boss he completely showed up Australia it is one of the best tries i've seen.
Can somone tell me why this video hasnt got like a billion views its like the best try in history!
Here after jonny mays wonder try vs ireland. May's try actually tops this, he had further to run, less room, and had to kick chase. Both incredible.
Cant stop smiling when i watch this!
Always love watching this.
Only sad thing is that I get reminded that England once picked Hape to play national team rugby
I am a kiwi. This was one of the greatest tries of all time. Jaw dropping.
Still get goosebumps.

England crowds are the best, best energy, even with joshua knocking out wladimir klitchko that was great night, will never forget it
Saint to Saint. A thing of beauty how Courtney drew 2 and gave the pass
No me canso de verlo
Still dropping in to watch lol
The fact he does him with a sidestep when hes 15 yards away is special
It's the dream try for a winger
I was at this game! Unfortunately I was only 8 so I didn’t really appreciate this incredible try

please can anyone tell what the music that is playing when Ashton scores?

lets hope we see a replay of this tomorrow....

He run more than 94m, considering it was not a straight one.
Pure desire - best try ever
Fabulous

I really hate that guy, but I loved that try, hey I'm a rapper!
Yea but most players cant run that fast
Scotlands Van De Merwe try at Twickers last Saturday in 6 Nations opener gives this a run for its money!
loveing chris ashton now thanks to my mate daniel ;)
Whoever disliked this is a noob
HOOOOOO-fuckin-RAHHHH
RGBY LEAGUE RIGHT THERE.........AGAIN!👍👍👍👍👍
Everyone else in the team did all the work holding the line and Laws to make the break, Ashton just took all the bloody credit
nek minnut australia beat england
How did the ref not call for a blatant non-releasing of the tackled player? Horrific refereeing
It was a crap try.
