A recent game, I was playing as Brazil. Didn't have that great of an army, probably could beat someone if they tried invading.
    America declares war.
    Crap
    Japan jumps into the fray
    Shiiiiit
    Poland follows suit
At this point, I thought I was completely dead. I was fighting them off - barely - and only surviving due to forts, when a message popped up.
Genghis, the ultimate cool kid and friend to all people, had taken Polands capital and then begun attacking Washington soon after, leaving me with enough leaveway to push out and take over Odas land for my own.
We killed everyone on the map together, and it was beautiful.
R.I.P Genghis, sorry for leaving you on planet earth.

I once played a game as Venice, and although I didn't have the strongest military (always just enough to protect my borders) I became a good ally to the Mongols by covering their deficit, gifting spare resources, and sending most of my trade units to their cities. Then when Darius got too greedy and declared war on me, Ghengis crushed the Persian empire within 20 turns. The Mongols can be great allies if you can pull it off.

Nope, you're actually in fact patently wrong.
It's has been already transparently more-than-obvious that European strongholds were too impressively constructed and gargantuanly durable for Khan and his forces to invade. We are an impenetrably unstoppable object surrounded by knights in multifacetedly layered armour and shapely unrelated weapons of massive variety such as swords, poleaxes, maces, warhammers, shields, flails, harlberds, catapults, cannons, spears, javelins and so forth.
Our fortifications were too much for any Khan to deal with it. Our armour could have effortlessly fully protect from their arrows and not be decimated. Our heavy cavalry is too much.

and in the middle of their raid n conquer process, they creating a country.
it's not a civilization but also a civilization at the same time.
not a civilization because they were basically just a big company that eat lot of countries. and these countries obey the leader of this company. The Great Khan.
and also a civilization because they also have their own culture and help shape these countries' culture. Steppe people of Asia are Turks. Turks also have their culture even though they're nomads.

Rafael Teles Well to be fair Attila may have been even greater than Genghis if he hadn't died so soon. Besides the succession after Genghis' death (the power squabbles of his sons causing a lack of unity) the mongolians lost a crucial battle in Arabia which basically halted the Mongolian advance in which they never truly recovered.
Bleda was destroying eastern Roman armies, but ended up dying leaving it all up to Atilla.
Atilla was on his way to Rome, but ended up dying beforehand.

In most of my experiences, never let this guy become an empire if he is on your continent. It's to either destroy or block him from possible expansion opportunities. I find the second option more beneficial and satisfying, because he is one the most loyal allies in the game. At any time he starts to get stronger knock him down a peg before it's too late, his allies are usually the second people he destroys.
