I love how we can convert any phone to a Magsafe compatible phone with that ring, but is it just metal or magnet?
I really liked the idea of the clock and dock, it is really neat, it would have been better if they had added a small battery in that so when we unplug the clock, time doesn't reset!

Thats the only problem with the clock and dock which resets when the power goes out.
The ring is metal and not a magnet. The magnet is in the wireless charger itself. And in order to charge wirelessly, the phone needs to support wireless charging, only then it will work.
