Dear friends! We finally finished our next new project! In our new video with my improvisation and Alexandra’s video edition has been inspired by the awesome Dali 360° animation made on behalf of The Dali Museum! With this animation we can go inside and beyond Dali’s painting Archaeological Reminiscence of Millet’s Angelus and explore the world of the Surrealist master like never before in this mesmerizing video. I have always been obsessed by the surrealist dreamlike paintings by Salvador Dali with his out of this world art! Surrealism was a cultural movement which developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I and was largely influenced by Dada.The movement is best known for its visual artworks and writings and the juxtaposition of distant realities to activate the unconscious mind through the imagery. Artists painted unnerving, illogical scenes, sometimes with photographic precision, creating strange creatures from everyday objects, and developing painting techniques that allowed the unconscious to express itself. Its aim was, according to leader André Breton, to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality", or surreality. Works of surrealism feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur; however, many surrealist artists and writers regard their work as an expression of the philosophical movement first and foremost, with the works themselves being an artifact. Sometimes I have the impression that Dali's paintings are about other worlds in some special dimension in time and space! But I am not surprised considering that, according to the latest studies in cosmology and quantumphysics there are countless surrealistic places in our Universe! So maybe his visions were not far fetched from being realistic! We hope we managed to convey our impressions through this video which were trigerred by the Dali 360°animation! Born in Figueres, Catalonia, Dalí received his formal education in fine arts at Madrid. Influenced by Impressionism and the Renaissance masters from a young age, he became increasingly attracted to Cubism and avant-garde movements. He moved closer to Surrealism in the late 1920s and joined the Surrealist group in 1929, soon becoming one of its leading exponents. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931, and is one of the most famous Surrealist paintings. Dalí lived in France throughout the Spanish Civil War (1936 to 1939) before leaving for the United States in 1940 where he achieved commercial success. He returned to Spain in 1948 where he announced his return to the Catholic faith and developed his "nuclear mysticism" style, based on his interest in classicism, mysticism and recent scientific developments. Dalí's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design and photography, at times in collaboration with other artists.
