No, what you've seen is correct. In fact, XG was produced by a Korean producer based in Japan, and all of XG's staff, from the beginning to the practice venues, were created by Koreans and in Korea. Furthermore, XG's music is registered in the Korean K-pop music market and has appeared on K-pop broadcasts. However, the reason people keep saying it's not K-pop in the comments is due to 'historical' and 'political' reasons. Korea and Japan have conflicts with each other. The reason they don't want to be labeled as K-pop is that they don't like the situation where K-pop is globally successful while J-pop is not gaining popularity. XG is an X POP group. Officially they consider themselves Hip Hop and R&B. And they are all Japaneses born and raised.
