I'm still learning to Read Crochet patterns, I learn so much faster by watching, REALLY wish you had a Video on the long one with hood and pockets, also in a larger size.... Love watching All your Videos Sooooo Much
I just found your Etsy shop and I think it is absolutely amazing. Thank you for including videos in your patterns. At least the one that I looked at. I think that is amazing and your prices are also very affordable. Thank you I really appreciate it.!!!!😊
I love how easy this pattern is. I did it in an end of mill verigated brown, orange, green and blush pink. I thought it woud fit my 36yo neice but the size wouldn't go around my 26yo daughter, so made it for my friends daughter. Weather is getting warmer, so should be good for mid season, and next year. My only issue was having to rewind a few times in some places, as I was confused where to place some stitches, but worked it out. Thank you for such a great tutorial.
I'm sitting here, in the quiet, on Mother's Day Friday, crocheting the short version in Sweet Stuff. I'm loving this yarn. It feels good in my hands, working with it. The colorway is what drew me to this project. Love it! So far, the pattern is really easy and clear. Its working up really fast. Now THIS is the way I like to celebrate Mothers Day ... hooking! 🤣😂😅 Oh ... and thanks for the pattern discount for Mom's Day ... sweet surprise!
Thank you Michelle J for your tutorial I made the short cardigan in 3 days I am a beginner crocheter and I am amazed it turned out perfect thanks again
Same here ! I had already almost finished doing another pattern with the wool but it turned out far to stiff to wear although looked great…it’s coming down, I tell you…I love the look of this cardigan and couldn’t believe it was my wool….so excited to start !
I love this yarn! I've been wanting to try it because I love the colorways. I haven't because I live in South Texas. Now I'm thinking I may try it anyway. You made this sweater look so easy! 🥰
Done and dusted! I have made L/XL. Ordered 800gr of wool of a different brand. The gauge was the same though. I added on the length a few more rows. On the sleeve, I had to add 4 rows to fit my arms' length. I added the same no. of rows to the hood. I crochetted the pockets directly on the front sides as it looks much better. I crochetted the pockets first as per the instructions, and stitched them to the cardigan but it didn't look right.🤷🏻 Overall, very easy to follow the video. I finished it in 3 day. It looks amazing.🤗🤗🤗 Thank you so much.
@@henriettamessiah2410 When I finished the cardigan, I marked the places where I wanted the pockets. I simply started the pockets crocheting the first row on the cardigan. Then, I continued as normal and when done I attached the sides to the cardigan. It's a shame I can't attach a picture here so you could see it. 😊
@@gigihrinconrincon5513 Simply.... you just mark the place you want to have them. Then, you fix the yarn onto the jumper on the spot you want to have your pocket/s and start crocheting. Like that, you can make them as wide and as high as you like. You can attach sides of the pocket as you crochet them "up" or you leave the sides "open" and fix them after you finish crocheting. I used to do pockets like this when knitting as well.
@@rona-m11 I think all the sizes begin the same. I wanna say it was 44 sts, but you would need to verify that with the video or pattern. I know she says somewhere in the beginning of the video
I love the tutorial and you taught it beautiful I just got lost where the hood was supposed to be connected. I’m a new crochet. I wish I could’ve saw it. Thank you in advance.
The way she explains it in the video is very confusing. I bought the pattern and I was able to get what she was saying by following the pattern and the video over and over lol 😂 good luck ❤
Hi MJ, I've done quite a few of your tutorials now, and wow!! so easy to follow along love love love them. What about doing a waistcoat tutorial apparenly all the rage at the moment, I have tried but unsucessful.. What's your thoughts? thanks K. p.s I changed this patter up slightly, was going to send photo, but unsure how to.. thanks again
I have made several of your patterns and love them. The last one was a cape/shawl with wavy ends. I would like to make it again (my neighbor wants one) but cannot find it in your videos. Would you repost it again? Thank you.
I'm a bit confused by the instructions for the hood.. Do I need to start a new chain and attach the hood seperately? Or, do you only start a new chain in the video because you're not actually adding the hood to the cropped one?
Wow! This is beautiful. I am going to hunt for yarn now. I am worried though about the pilling. Does anyone have experience with how this Mary Maxim acrylic wears and washes?
Acrylic pills, no matter what ANY manufacture claims. So do LOTS of other types yarn fibers. That's why I don't machine wash ANYTHING I make by hand. I just soak in wool wash and dry flat. Machine washing just isn't worth it to me, considering the hours of labor I put into making an item. Hand made articles are special and should be treated special in my opinion. Plus, most articles of clothing, especially outer wear doesn't need frequent washing. I prefer spot treating, when needed, and just 'freshening' once in awhile.
I have a question can I do this without the chain 1 between clusters? Love this especially with chunky yarn. Thanks so much for your hard work. Hope you’re having a wonderful evening!!!❤❤❤
When starting the with chain are there different number of chains or do they all start with 44? Reading the pattern it doesn't give different number of chains for the different sizes.
Hey MJ! I'm new to crocheting, been doing it with your videos. I want to do this one with a acrylic wool i have it's sooo pretty. My question is the wool shows to use 5mm hook. Can i do it with the 4/4.5mm as you did or should i do it 4.5/5mm ? Hope you can reply please
Hello, I know I’m not the creator but I know she has a video to make a sweater like this but with smaller yarn and hooks. Search on here granny pop mjsoffthehook and it should be a white sweater in the thumbnail.. lemme grab the link if I can
Could I double up on a worsted weight and get a similar/equal outcome?? Trying to break my stash, but making them for my kiddos, so much less yarn used 😅.
Hi Michelle J I have just ordered the marvelous chunky yarn from mary maxim it is not the same quality they sent you for your tutorial there is no sheen on the yarn and the Guage of the yarn is a 4 not a 5 just thought I would let you know .
There is no sheen on the yarn that I have, it just gives that effect. The gauge on the yarn does not matter. Everyone crochets different and has different tensions. Use whatever hook size needed to obtain the pattern gauge. I just double checked my yarn and the Mary Maxim Website and it is the exact same, they have not changed the yarn.
Sorry if this is a silly question… but I’m fairly new to crocheting. I’m following you all the way to the point where you need to “skip the sleeve” and join the two V-stitches together then continue with the pattern… if you have the garment laying flat on the table with the long end (the “back” portion of the garment) at the top and the shoulders at the bottom, I’m assuming you join the two v-stitches on the same side of the garment… I.e. right upper and lower v-stitches, to make a sleeve hole, however, I can’t figure out how to continue the pattern from that point on without running into an end, which is a cluster of 4 DC… and if I go to the end, chain 1 and turn my work and continue on with the pattern, my rows will be off… can someone help me please?!?! This seems like such an easy concept but it has me stuck. Thanks in advance!
Exactly 4 for the long (so maybe get an extra) and 3 for the short with no hood. I had yarn left over for the short but not enough to add a hood with 3 balls. ❤
I watch a million crochet videos…yours is the only one I’ve subscribed to.. You make me want to pick up my crochet hook again!
I just found her Etsy shop. Her patterns are so reasonably priced. I am very excited. 😅
I made the child's version for my little granddaughter in her big brother's travel hockey team colors as well as a matching headband.
How to get instructions for kids sizes?
GREAT idea!!!
A like at the very beginning! Every single masterclass you make is so amazing and practical!

you’ll start your hood on the right collar corner where your foundation chains are for the yoke, and work rows onto that
