You’ve clearly watched a lot of RUclips videos and been frustrated (as I was) with the speed that people deliver content. Your mastery of the topic, coupled with your no BS delivery speed and quick edits make these high impact videos really valuable and enjoyable. Thanks for your efforts. Great job.
I been watching guys for years. I am 43 years old and I gotta tell you this dude is the real deal. I just like that he is real and no bullshit you tuber and certainly knows his shit. I only watch his videos now got best results from his knowledge. Thanks brother.
Hi Ryan im 64 and have been lifting since i was 19, military, basement and gyms and I have always preached be the muscle..... unfortunatley I have been in a rut for about 2yrs and discovered your site. It didnt happen over night but you have put the energy and excitement back into my lifting. Im done thank you I get it.
Loving these simple equipment videos. They're really keeping the motivation up after 4 weeks of isolation. It's all too easy to feel down, eat bad food and assume there's no way to get gains. You're proving there's no obstacles to progress. Thanks for all the great vids!
I'm very disappointed that RUclips algorithm hasn't suggested your videos sooner. Every video there is 3-4 new or different exercises that i can incorporate into my workouts whether at home or the gym. most videos will just show you the same workouts everyone else is already showing. Everything about this channel amazing, keep the gold coming and I sure will keep on growing.
Hi Ryan, I'm a recent subscriber and occupational therapist (specializing towards hand therapy certification). I would recommend keeping your wrist neutral, meaning don't deviate your wrist toward your pinky because repetitive ulnar deviation can lead to radial tenosynovitis aka DeQuervain's; swelling of the wrist on the thumb side. Thank you for the shoulder exercises! Before being laid off, I used your exercises.
Ryan has made me wish I was 30 years younger lol, got into working out a couple of years ago, after being diagnosed with heart disease, built up an home gym, and can't really get any proper gains, maybe left it a bit too late. If only lol. Love watching these videos of his though, and picking up a few tips. He's probably the best I've ever seen on here. Very likeble fella.
Stumbled upon a few of your videos the other night while looking for some "different" DB exercises I could incorporate in my at home workouts. I'm 62, have balance issues, and nerve damage in my legs & feet, as well as Peripheral Neuropathy due to T2 Diabetes. (Which I have now reversed, as well as lowering my Hba1c from 22 to a range of 4.8-5.6; and have maintained over the past 4 years), along with losing 140 lbs. Anyway, I seemed to have been stuck in a rut, and just spinning my wheels when it came to my shoulders. No matter what I did, I couldn't get my side delts to grow, and rarely "felt" my shoulders after a workout. (Except if I went rather heavy {for me} on Seated DB Shoulder Presses). So after watching a few of your Shoulder workout videos, I thought I'd give some of the exercises I've never tried a go. BOY what a difference after just ONE workout!. First off, I fatigued my side delts by doing 3 exercises for them - the thumbs up, palms facing forward swing behind DB Side Lateral Raises, std palms down DB Side Lateral Raises, and lean on an angle one arm DB Side Lateral Raises. (All done 1 arm at a time due to balance issues, and to give each side full concentration ) Next I did Bus Drivers using a Dumbbell. Talk about a killer. Then Bent over rear delt flyes, and then your version of the wide swing Arnold Presses, which literally toasted my shoulders. For most of the exercises I only used 10 lb dumbbells, did 3 Sets @ 10 Reps each arm, but used slow, deliberate form, and really felt it. On the rear delt flyes, and Arnold Presses, I used 15 lb DBs but also really felt it. I've done regular std DB Shoulder Presses with 27.5 lb DBs for 3 Sets x 10 Reps, but your exercises made such a difference. Of course pre exhausting my side delts probably was a key factor. Of course only time will tell how much - if any - I will grow, but I am definitely going to continue to incorporate these into my Shoulder routine. And yes, I do eat plenty of good protein. Love your workouts & videos!
Again - your videos are so informative. Dig that your are primarily working with DB 👍 The small ‘tweaks’ we can make to increase the intensity. Thank you.
Keep up the good work mate, your videos are clear and concise! I am pretty new to it all and these have been a great help have gained more at home than I was in the gym 🤷🏼♂️. Cheers from the sunny U.K.
@Ryan Humiston-- I know this has been said by many here. But i will add the list. I appreciate your no nonsense approach to your videos. No fluff,.....just right to it. Thank you for your content. Bill
Ryan Humistone Shoulder WO 1) DBx1 seated RearDeltFly, slow MMC & top squeeze 2) DBx1 seated FrontDelt PushOut, from chest straight out with tilted wrist 3) DBx1 seated FrontDelt StiffArm straight out, rocking body back and foreward 4) DBx1 seated SideDeltRaise, elbowe 90˚, lift and lead with elbowe, should be higher than db 5) DBx1 seated Egypt SideDeltRaise dropset, partial and straight out from the hip a) go to failiure b) drop weight & go to failiure
Really thank you, i'd lost a lot of motivation for working out. Eating like shit, not doing anything just f..ing off really, and a big part of my job is to be physically fit. But you really have inspired me, to get after it. I just started using weights, in a serious manner. I was mostly body weight fitness before now i'm using a dumb bell. Most exciting thing I've done involving PT. So really Thank you for doing you man. can't wait to try this shoulder stuff tomorrow!!! Take Care!
No matter the color, these always make my day. Enjoyed learning from this one so much, did it three times over. Would love another quad/hamstring video like this.
I like that side shoulder raise with the elbow at 90. Also just never rest DB at the side and keep constant tension on the muscle is great with lighter weights and keeps u from doing a million reps. 💪🏼
Love all your video’s, straight up work it with no bullshit. Every time I’m looking for a decent work out to change things up, I always end up doing one of yours and thinking yeah that’s what I was looking for✌️
Thanks man, you have been a blessing in disguise for this lockdown. Even before that , you're knowledge is great, content refreshing, and get right to the point of it. Will get after it.
Can you continue these light-weight exercises for chest, bicep, tricep, back, legs etc.. Stuck with dumbells up to 25 Thank you for all this. Appreciate it
I personally think one of the reasons you have success with your center deltoid is that when you do your lateral raises your traps stay perfectly still. Lots of people tend too shrug their shoulders up and the lats take over the movement.
Seems like the scapular muscles (rhomboids especially) are taking a beating in an attempt to stabilize the frontal and side lateral shoulder lift (fly) - am I wrong in that logic? In the lateral lift, keeping the arms slightly forward and *not* raising your arms *above* the shoulder plateau is the safe way to go & avoid shoulder (rotator) cuff injury, right? Finally, you are one quick-talking, fast-drawing, brain-busting teacher! Cheers, you big lug!
Ryan, bravo my guy. I've been using your videos to optimism my exercise sessions And the quarantine edition is beyond helpful. Moreover, I've seen great improvement growing my muscles.
Good stuff!! I have a pair of 10lb and 20lb dumbells and bands ,, Been using those and fast walk / slow jog 2 - 3 miles 5 - 6 days a week,, These light weight workouts are good cause that's what I have,,
I almost took a pass on this one, thinking that it just wouldn’t be hard enough. I decided to try and do 3 sets of each exercise, without rest in between and it burned me out! Overall, this was certainly different, interesting and very high difficulty. Thanks, brother!
Damn, this video was a little too late for me to try it for my shoulder workout today! All of the rest of your dumbbell only videos have been fantastic. Definitely feels like these exercises will make a difference.
I love the shout-out to us cinema nerds, esp. since I've already praised your color grading in the past. In this video, you seem to be working with a shallower depth of field. Your efforts are not wasted! Any chance you actually dream of directing?
Great stuff Ryan, thank you. I got a kettle bell set for Xmas, it’s blue and pretty but I see stuff on web but don’t wanna hurt myself. You have any videos on that. Thank you for all your great workout tips.
Appreciating these Ron. Some interesting points on angles and how to control on the contraction with this. Will definitely put that in practice with what I got. Good work
this is great but I prefer heavier dumbells.... 20k dumbells should do it. its feels different and is faster too, at least for me... Great videos ! I´ve learnt a lot!
The side lateral exercises was lit. I really don't have a good connection with my lateral delts with the lateral raise but these additions are great though.
Hey buddy . very good stuff. I was in shape like yourself but i weigh like 260lbs i have not worked out for almost a year what u suggest i should start with cardio or weights
You’ve clearly watched a lot of RUclips videos and been frustrated (as I was) with the speed that people deliver content. The music/'hey' timing at 5:03 is pretty good.
😂😂👌eeeiii
Yes
Hey, that’s pretty good
You, Sir, are the man. God bless you.

Say this almost every video. This guy is a BEAST, keeps getting bigger and bigger and listens to what we want
i honestly don't think this guy juices...and if does, it's not much....so I d listen to this more than most of the juicers out there.
I’ve stopped watching other workout videos in lockdown, this guy has the answers as far as I’m concerned!
Wow Ryan. I’m all flustered watching you
Loving these simple equipment videos. They're really keeping the motivation up after 4 weeks of isolation. It's all too easy to feel down, eat bad food and assume there's no way to get gains. You're proving there's no obstacles to progress. Thanks for all the great vids!
Hands down the best fitness youtuber. No bullshit, really helpful, short and informative videos.
I really like this man he is so genuine. I would love to have him as a personal trainer. A real natural man
Your exercise ''construction'' is ART. It's like dancing.
The best trainer in the world🌏. He is creative undoubtedly!
Most everyone says the same thing about this guy and I agree. Straight to the point and
No BS.
the facial expressions make it.
I think they hide the moaning and growling
the facial agony makes for a stronger contraction (i.g. 4:50) ..science
Agree
Going for it, starting 2morow.
Tht's the VIKING CRY
I subscribed when you were under 10,000 and I swear that was like a month ago. Your information is just simple and sensible.

No keep it up. I like to hear him explain it too but when it comes time to follow along I prefer to see it so it’s easier this way. Thanks!
Hmmm
you could be kind so kind to comment your time stamps - so it's for everybody
I really appreciate the added video time showing the movement after you explain it, it’s like being in the gym with you!
Ryan, Hands down you have the best channel anywhere for strength training. Thanks, man.
I'm very disappointed that RUclips algorithm hasn't suggested your videos sooner. Thanks a million. I can "fix my style" now, and get done faster.
Is there anything he doesn't know??!! Lmao this guys the albert einstein of growing and getting after it.

Means a lot. Thank you.

Your workouts are simply the best💪🏽👏🏽
Being able to watch you do the movement and watching the muscle contract is awesome ( for instruction, visual understanding). keep it up Ryan.
Out of all the fitness youtubers I have got the most results from Ryan, he is the real deal.
Best advice ever for shoulders
