Excellent series. It is not easy to find information about EMDR online. Although I am not a professional clinician, I have a great interest in this evidence-based modality and have wanted to understand more after reading Francine Shapiro's book.
You mention that if the parents, and you specifically do use the plural, have a dismissive attachment style they produce avoidantly attached children and preoccupied parents will produce ambivalent children but its my understanding that dismissive-dismissive couples are rare and preoccupied-preoccupied couples are not common either. But dismissive-preoccupied couples are the second most common long lasting relationship combination. What determines how these couples pass on their attachment style to their children?
